“Fuck!” Kiba cursed as he spat blood from his mouth onto the ground.
“What did I tell you about that filthy mouth of yours, Kiba!?” Tsume ran toward her only son.
“Come on, Akamaru! Let’s show this old hag we’re nothing to mess with.” Kiba got on all fours, activating his clan’s fighting style. Akamaru, his ninken, happily barked in response.
The Four Legs technique is one of the two things that made an Inuzuka Clan member part of the Inuzuka. The other part was their ninken. At only four years old, Kiba had both, along with the arrogance to match. Akamaru and Kiba rushed toward Tsume and Kuromaru.
However, Kiba wasn’t even an academy student. It was impossible for him to overcome a special jonin like his mother. The young little tots were beaten down ungracefully. Tsume sat on her son with a smile as he wildly flailed about. He cursed while Akamaru barked his little head off, both completely subdued by a stronger member of their pack.
“Kiba-chan, are you still fighting with Mama?” Hana, Kiba’s older sister, came out of the house with her three ninken.
Kiba didn’t dignify his older sister’s words with a response as he continued to try and get his heavy mom off his back. It was only when they tuckered themselves out that Tsume and Kuromaru brought them inside to rest. Tsume couldn’t help but smile at her energetic son. He was going to become a strong shinobi. She just knew it.

Day after day, Kiba and Akamaru trained with Tsume and Kuromaru whenever possible. If Tsume was away on a mission, that role, unfortunately, was passed onto Kiba’s older sister, Hana. Hana and her three ninja hounds had to try a lot harder than Tsume to put Kiba and Akamaru down. The difference between a ten-year-old girl and a four-year-old boy was a lot smaller than Hana thought it would be. She was already an academy student on her way to becoming a genin in a few years, but her little brat of a brother could already force her to sweat when fighting him.
If she didn’t regularly put him in his place like Mom, Kiba would walk all over her! Unknown to Hana, her constant sparring with her annoying uncute little brother had increased both of their strength as the years went by. Hana had to desperately make sure that she wasn’t overcome by her little brother, who was six years younger than herself. He made her try harder at home than she had to try at school with her classmates during sparring!
It reminded her of Uchiha Itachi, the genius that managed to graduate from the academy early. Tsume had a big grin on her face when her daughter shared her concerns with her. Uchiha Itachi was being considered for the Anbu despite only being the same age as her daughter, a mere academy student. If her son possibly had the same amount of potential as someone from the Uchiha Clan, Tsume could brag about this for years! A prodigy of their clan is exactly what they needed. The fact that it was her son who had the makings of a fantastic shinobi was extra topping on the cake.
Tsume began to focus less on completing missions and more on training her son. While she didn’t hold back on account of his eagerness in their training, she started to amp up their training difficulty significantly after believing he had to potential to match a well-known genius like Uchiha Itachi. Kiba seemed happy about this despite how often he got beaten down by his mother. He matched her energy perfectly, more than willing to become the clan’s ‘top dawg,’ as he put it.
It was only when Kiba was admitted to the Ninja Academy at the age of five that problems started to arise…

Kiba glared in the direction of the boy who was attempting to take his place as top dawg of the class. Akamaru growled, showing his little sharp teeth. Uchiha Sasuke glared back at him. At the sight of this, Kiba started laughing. “Damn, look at those eyes. Scary bastard… I almost pissed myself.” He joked.
“Kiba! Stop glaring at Sasuke-kun!” Random female #1 shouted.
“What’s your problem, dog boy!?” Random female #2 yelled.
“Leave Sasuke-kun alone!” Random female #3 screeched.
“Shut up.” Kiba briefly turned his glare toward the girls with his fist clenched.
There were numbers in strength, though, despite how scary Kiba-kun was. “Oh, do I gotta crack some heads? I gotta say, you girls are a lot braver than I thought. I hope you don’t think I won’t hit women. I’ve been hitting women since I was four. As far as I’m concerned, the only girl in this class worth anything is that chick over there.” Kiba pointed at Hyuga Hinata behind him with his thumb. She was pretty strong in taijutsu class.
The class took notice of this information as Kiba got up from his seat. His attention on Sasuke was completely taken by the group of girls, who started to shiver as he approached them. He grinned, showing off his sharp canines while cracking his knuckles. It was finally time for the girls who liked Sasuke to put their money where their mouths were.
“Drop it, Kiba.” Shikamaru lazily raised his head from his desk. “Leave them alone.”
He thought women were a pain, too, but actually putting your hands on them? That was going a bit too far, in the lazy boy’s opinion. It was easier just to ignore them or agree with them. At Shikamaru’s words, the other boys also began to gain some courage.
“Big bad Kiba can only pick on girls?” Random boy #1 stood up from his desk.
“Why don’t you try and pick on someone your own size?” Random boy #2 started flexing his non-existent muscles.
“I don’t know, Kiba seems pretty cool.” Naruto didn’t like Sasuke’s popularity.
“Shut up, Naruto!” Random boy #3 shouted.
“What?! I’ll kick your butt!” Naruto stood up from his desk.
“Haha, let’s do this, blondie.” Kiba tossed a book at Shikamaru for daring to speak up toward him.
Kiba’s accurate toss knocked Shikamaru to the floor. He let out a painful groan, and Choji stood up in righteous anger at his friend being hurt in front of him. “Oh, what are you going to do, fatty? Kiba laughed at the round boy.
“Who are you calling fat!?” Choji rushed toward Kiba at his fastest speed.
The young budding prodigy of the Inuzaka Clan lost himself with laughter as the Akimichi Clan member slowly made his way over to him. Choji tried to push Kiba to the ground with his big body, but Kiba didn’t move an inch. He kneed Choji in his stomach, and as he dropped to his knees, he grabbed him by the head.
“Stop it, Kiba!” Yamanaka Ino shouted.
“Haha, catch!” Kiba laughed as he tossed Choji’s body at the group of girls who were screeching at him earlier.
They screamed in fear as they were all knocked to the ground and buried underneath Choji’s big body. A group of boys rushed toward Kiba without fear. Naruto rushed in just as they were about to reach Kiba and tackled three of them to the ground with just his shoulder. They engaged in a brawl, teaming up on Naruto.
Seeing that Naruto wasn’t all bark, Kiba decided to help him out. He was giving as good as he was getting it. For every three hits on him, he would get at least one hit back in return. He had that dawg in him, Kiba could respect that. Kiba walked over to the group of boys and kicked them off of Naruto.
By the end of the massive brawl, tears were flowing, clothes were dirtied, and some students were bleeding. Only a few students managed to remain unscathed in the huge fight. Uchiha Sasuke, Hyuga Hinata, Aburame Shino, and Inuzaku Kiba. However, both Kiba and Naruto were sentenced to detention once all the students who were injured went crying to their sensei.
“THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE! What made you two think it was okay to hurt and bully your classmates!?” Iruka shouted at them.
“You keep barking at me, I’ll kick your butt, too, sensei.” Kiba glared at the weak-bodied adult.
“Yeah, shut it, Iruka!” Naruto followed alongside Kiba happily.
“What?!” Iruka couldn’t believe the disrespect he was hearing. “Are you two out of your minds!?” He yelled.
“I’m hungry. Let’s get out of here, Naruto.” Kiba opened a window and was about to leap out of it if Iruka didn’t grab him by the waist at the last second.
“YOU REALLY ARE CRAZY! GET BACK IN HERE!” Iruka pulled on him.
Kiba elbowed Iruka in the head as Akamaru barked at him. As Iruka’s grip loosened from Kiba's chakra-infused blow, Kiba kicked him in the face, knocking him to the ground. “Come on.” He grinned at Naruto as he leaped out of the window.
“See ya, Iruka-sensei!” Naruto laughed, leaping out of the window as well.
Kiba and Naruto ate at a restaurant, with Kiba paying. Since he had a mom to give him money and Naruto wasn’t so bad of a guy. He had the potential to be a real dawg. It sucked he didn’t have a family, but something like that wouldn’t keep a top dawg down.
“Kiba, how did you get so strong, huh? I could probably beat Choji up, but I don’t know about throwing him like you did. He looks kind of heavy.” Naruto eagerly ate his food.
“My mom is a special jonin, and my sister is a genin. I fight with them all the time. Yeah, I get my ass kicked, but it makes me stronger.” Kiba explained.
“Do you think I could come and we can train together? Or just play together at all? The other kids don’t really like to play with me…” Naruto’s voice got quieter.
“Sure, man.” Kiba thought it would be good if he weren’t the only one getting his butt kicked.
Top dawgs don’t need to lie. Naruto had a certain attitude that would make him great. Just the fact he was willing to stand up with him against the whole class was enough of a passing mark for Kiba. But he went the extra mile to ditch detention and come hang out with him. If he didn’t make a friend with someone like this, who would he make friends with?
“Thanks, Kiba…” Naruto seemed like he was about to cry or something.
“What the hell’s the matter with you? Why are you about to cry?” Kiba didn’t understand.
“I’m not about to cry!” Naruto wiped his eyes. “I just had some dirt in my eyes.” He then smiled.
“Whatever, man. Just don’t be doing that crying shit around me again. It’s disgusting.” Kiba shared.
“Haha, yeah.” Naruto finished up his meal.
“Let’s bail. I can smell Iruka-sensei on the way.” Kiba said after sniffing the air.
“Really!?” Naruto tried sniffing the air but couldn’t smell anything.
“Shut up and let’s go.” Kiba laughed, placing the money down for their food and running out of the shop.
The two academy students had smiles on their faces as they ran all over the village to avoid the wrath of Iruka. As determined as they were, Iruka seemed to have a method to find them no matter where they went or hid. In the end, Naruto and Kiba were captured and brought to the Hokage himself. Although, they did have to be roughed up a bit… Kiba’s mother was called to talk and discuss her child’s behavior.
“Damn, he’s stronger than I thought for a dork.” Kiba glanced at chunin Iruka.
“We almost got him, Kiba! If we keep training, we’ll be able to kick his butt and graduate from the Academy in no time!” Naruto seemed enthusiastic at the prospect of becoming a shinobi earlier than his peers.
