“Are you sure you don’t wanna fix the things between you and your partner?” Yuna asked as she was worried about Marco.

The house was way too calm and even the droplets of water in the bathroom could be heard from the kitchen, and so Yuna’s words echoed through the empty rooms.

“What would you suggest so I can say it, I’m sorry I meddled in your affairs and stuff. Her eyes were filled with rage and sorrow, I don’t really know what to say and it’s better either way, I can get my free time training more” Marco responded, putting his plate down to wash it. His face was the same as usual as always.

Looking at the watch, seeing that Arthur and Sophie got late. Marco decided to go on his own, so he left a few notes then went outside.

“I guess they’ll be really mad if I don’t show up. I’ll see if I can pick them up after a few days” Marco said while walking towards his destination where he used to train on his own.

“Where do you think you’re going?” Alex suddenly appeared in the middle of the forest behind him.

“I guess I’ll work on my sensory witchcrafts more now. That’s none of your business after all you guys consider me as an outsider”.

Marco was harsh on his way of speaking as he kept walking.

“So what she said hurt your pride or something?” she asked, provoking him, although she couldn't, he stopped walking and turned around.

“I didn’t feel hurt or… sigh, I don’t really get the idea. I tried to know more about you and the rest, what happened wasn’t that wrong for your side but instead you kept the smile in face of discrimination. A week ago a guy came and contacted Carla about something, I didn’t catch a glimpse of his appearance but I knew he came, master wasn’t here and that’s when she started spacing out and fake smiling. I thought that as a partner I had at least a small sense of duty to make her smile the usual. But my guess was wrong, I only made the things worse”

He took a seat on the ground seeing how Alex followed him all the way there. Therefore he stood again and continued walking seeing that she was standing in front of him.

“So you do feel righteous or something like that, I’m impressed. When I saw that look in your eyes, they didn’t feel lively or something but like they were saying why” Alex responded.

Alex didn’t really stop him but the two walked until they reached the old station.

“Maybe yes, maybe no. I myself don’t really know, she was the bright big sister that Arthur wanted, and so Sophie did admire her too, I don’t distinguish what to say, I really don’t. Sigh, this became more troublesome” Marco responded.

“I see, so you do feel things too. That’s a strange thing, you know that they’re right now searching about you, Carla may not be searching but she’s kinda waiting for you to return home. After all you’re the first guy at the same age as hers who she thinks of as a dear friend, she may have said some hurtful words but that was something far weaker than us” Alex smiled at him as she showed him with her serment what’s going on.

Upon looking at the current situation. Marco took a deep breath then sighed.

“I’ll take a while to get back, Alex senpai did a good job finding me but I’m kinda disordered right now. I’ll be back after tomorrow, they can wait until then right!!” Marco smiled at her.

Alex didn’t understand what he meant then in a moment of weakness she lost consciousness to find herself laying in bed in the restaurant.

“So he left again. Man! That kid is simple yet hard to understand.” Emilis said as he was fixing the window on his own.

“Where’s Sophie and Arthur?” Alice asked.

“Shoko san took them home and said that she’ll stay there for the night” Xavier responded, sighing at the current situation.

Emilis said as he put down the pack of papers that Marco was writing. He took them as payback for stealing his credit card. He gave them the papers and asked them to read them loud and clear one by one.

It was Carla’s turn and last since she held the concluding pages.

“Looking at how Vanica Fullblack, Carla’s mom reacted I realized that was something fishy about it. I checked the list of the funding groups and found many articles were burned and not being found by any of the recent reports for the council. I had my fair time researching but I found only a name that never existed in the database of the council, the title of the laughing sage. With being only mentioned one time through all documents I’ve been searching through I dropped the search to a different time. He asked with the same smile from earlier. Carla and the others looked at Emilis as they tried to respond but he interrupted them.

“He called me over the phone and asked for information first, he said that Carla was acting strange and that she may be persuaded by a stranger. After that, he said even though everyone might not consider his way of thinking and how he didn’t know anything, he said that red mermaid is the family that his siblings wish to stay with so he’ll do whatever it takes for him to protect it. He also said that Arthur and Sophie consider Carla as their big sister, so seeing her fake smiling all the time possibly will reach a crucial state where a problem will occur. He hated that and he intended to search about the cause to eliminate the problem. Although you guys, Carla in particular called him an outsider”.

Emilis’ pace changed to be a little bit cold but that didn’t stop him from scolding them.

“That time when I did for Carla’s parents, I did think that they’ll continue to work through her mother’s notes using Carla as a lab rat. Well, I had to explain my side to Fabia ma too. You kids acted on my side because since you were 7 to 10 years old you were on my side, but that blind-trust created the current hole of messes. I guess It’ll be good if you guys really apologize and think about what you’ve done. Well, it’ll be after three months anyway”.

Emilis finished his words and got out leaving them in a moment of thinking. They all resented what just happened, especially Carla who started crying after seeing how far he went just for being able to stand at the same side of all the guild members.

It took her a few seconds before she would wipe her tears and smile a little then headed out on her own to go Marco’s house which she finally recognized as her own home where she can take a rest to calm her raging thoughts and hurting heart.
