41st chapter : let’s get going for now .

After that raging training, most of the red mermaid members were exhausted. Thus going to sleep, not even Arthur was able to get a proper rest. On that matter, he went out after noticing that something was off in the air, just to get caught in a more troublesome problem.

The moment that Arthur looked like he was pissed off, the bandits fell back as it was out of instinct.

“What are you doing?” the leader asked furiously.

“You really played your tricks right now!!” Arthur responded roaring instead as he stood up again stretching his neck a little.

“You withstood that!! Are you even a human!!”

They said, about to run away. Arthur looked at them then took a deep breath.

“I don’t really know, but!!” he roared to pick attention as they were too disordered to try and pick on him. The second that they tried to attack him, a chain guarded for Arthur who was about to get in a fight on his own.

“You shouldn’t get out of bed at this late hour” Marco said as he appeared from behind to cut their way.

“As if you’re allowed to go training in the middle of the night” Arthur responded as he leaped to his side.

“Sigh, you have a point. So you guys did something around?”.

Marco asked as he looked at them startled, the situation became worse for instance but for a reason they smiled at Marco as the next second that they tried to slip apart a huge guy came from the roof and stopped Marco’s chains.

“Yo!! So you’re the famous Alba’s disciple!!”.

The guy roared in a cold voice as both Arthur and Marco felt something off with the huge guy.

“Arthur!! you’re getting scolded after this!! now run back to Alba sensei’s restaurant at full speed now!!” Marco sighed.

“Haa!! they were the ones at fault why I’m the one getting scolded for!?!” Arthur yelled, complaining.

“Are you replying to my words again!!”.

Marco snapped out of it as the two started arguing on the spot.

“Oy oy!! as if you have the time to argue!!”.

The big guy yelled, about to attack them, Therefore in the middle of the argument both Marco and Arthur moved on instinct. As Marco stepped back he pulled some chains making the big guy lose balance, giving the chance for Arthur to smack him with a downward kick imbued with lightning.

The kick made the floor crack down to its beneath, however the guy didn’t feel a thing and grinned at Arthur who was hanging on a chain.

“He’s a lost cause!! that creepy smile!!” said Arthur.

Arthur noticed that most of the bandits ran, Marco on the other side was stretching his arms and legs preparing for a fight.

“Arthur, don’t meddle in this fight and go back home, by this time I guess master or sensei has already noticed ! ” he calmly said, releasing his serment.

“Gahaha!! you think that you can beat me or make that big old creep come to save you!! This is the time to get my revenge on him!! me the famous Guner!!!” Guner announced as his body had already gone to a different level of hugeness.

“We'll see,” Marco replied with simple words, calm voice.

The whole place was silent.

In a split of a second, a huge explosion made the district put their guards up. It was Marco who blew Guner out of the building.

“This is nothing but a scratch!! Do better, kid!! Do more!!” Guner grinned, keeping the same creepy smile.

Seeing that huge impact just now Arthur understood that even Marco won’t be winning against this man. He dashed at full speed therefore another man showed up in front of him attacking him that instant.

The second that the attack was about to trespass Arthur’s ribs Arthur felt a strong pressure. He instantly vanished from the man’s sight then knocked him down with a punch on the face slamming him straight at the wall.

“Huff, huff, I was about to die!!” Arthur yelled on his own as he was checking on the man, therefore another voice said to him with a sweet gentle expression.

“You should thank me for that!! tehehe!”.

Arthur was surprised and tried to attack her but went through her as if she was a ghost.

“What the hell?!” He was more surprised than frightened.

After meeting that lady Arthur made his guard more sharper and took some steps to the back.

“Tehehe! don’t worry! I’m not here with him, you can say that I’m you and you are me!!”.

She was warping some nonsense around Arthur’s head with her talk as he didn’t want to believe her either.

“What do you mean?!”. He couldn’t help it but to ask her what she meant by those words.

“I mean, you’ve been training all this time and didn’t know about what your brother keeps hidden from you specially. I’m you but not you! I’m karma!!” she smiled at him then patted his head.

Arthur looked at her then was about to ask her again therefore she continued.

“I’m your curse”.

These words made Arthur frustrated for a second.

“Ah right , since my name says it, I’m the real karma, not to be proud of something but I’ll be sticking with you your entire life!! I’ll be your power!! I’ll be your weapon!! And I’ll be the one that always stands with you!!”.

Karma was smiling at Arthur while hugging him as much as she could. For some reason Arthur felt no hostility towards her and sighed as he told her to get off him.

“Want me to teach you how to use your curse!?”.

She asked him genuinely as she looked at the knocked man. Arthur felt it was wrong for some reason but he started to feel a different thing than the simple euro that flows in the air. He looked back and felt the same thing from Karma, on the chains.

She smiled at him as the situation became more obvious that Marco is using a whole different thing than normal chains.

“The thing about my brother? Does he have it too?” Arthur asked as he was running back to the restaurant. Karma was running with him as she replied.

“Yeah, but he’s different. I'll teach you!! if you accept to keep it a secret!!”.

Arthur felt like it was a different matter as he sighed then stopped running.

“I’m not sure but it’s not something I would decide on a whim. For instance, if you’re not an enemy or something else, perhaps you’re just one of these guys and you’re bluffing to lure me out to a trap”.

Arthur said some logical stuff but he soon stopped talking as he saw Alice who came rushing at him, passing through Karma and didn’t even notice her presence.

A second was enough for him to accept her offer and ignore her too so he can respond to Alice afterwards.

“Arthur!!” Alice yelled at him because he was unconscious for a second.

“Ah sorry!! I was coming back but Marco got caught in a battle, you gotta help him!!”. He responded then pointed to where the battle was.

After seeing that he was having some troubles with talking, Alice picked him up and took her way back to the restaurant.

“What are you doing?! Marco nii needs help!” he said, troubled at what just happened to him.

“Don’t worry master Emilis is going on his own to help him”. She replied with a smile.

Alice tried to calm him down as she was worried too but the situation for the meantime is beyond their help without the full control on their own bodies.

On Marco’s side, the battle wasn’t well balanced. Guner kept changing his size each time Marco tried to land a hit, therefore Marco was able to put down the man on the ground several times.

“You want to beat me so badly then try to land a hit too!!”.

Marco provoked him as he stepped back, jumping away to land on a chain midair.

“You cheeky little kid!!”.

Guner roared then pointed his arm at Marco who wasn’t expecting a euro ray attack, therefore luckily Emilis was able to stop it as he captured Guner in a bubble in addition to appearing in front of Marco.

“You’re late,” Marco said as he sighed after that.

“Well , I was going to go back to the human realm for work. I can’t just stay around each time you start a fight you know!” Emilis responded as the two were looking at Guner trying to free himself from the bubble.

“Luckily, no one’s got hurt” Emilis smiled as he looked at Marco’s pale reaction to what he said.

Both sighed after that and went back to the restaurant.

“Ugh, I hate waking up in the middle of the night!” Alex complained as they all were waiting their turn to use the bathroom.

With Carla keeping an eye on Sophie so she could sleep, they all went down to the restaurant.

“Mind explaining?” Alba asked Marco who was drinking coffee.

“Don’t ask me, ask Arthur who was roaming around at a late hour with the guys from earlier”.

Marco responded as they all looked at Arthur who flustered for a second. By the next second, he noticed that Arthur feels different than usual as if he unleashed something else, therefore he didn’t want to speak about with everyone being around so he laughed it out and left him to have his way for the night.

“Uhm, you guys need to head back to sleep. It’s early but I guess I’ll get going now to the human realm. You guys keep training for now”.

Emilis smiled at them and went on his way. They were tired to the point of not really wanting to complain about anything. They let it slip after going back to sleep.

After seeing them off to bed, Marco and Arthur looked at each other.

“You wanna speak about something?” Marco asked vigilantly.

Arthur figured that Marco noticed it and responded with honesty therefore he wasn’t expecting that he would make Marco have a scary expression on him.

Arthur tried to laugh it out as Karma told him to not say a thing as she was present with them inside the room.

“Don’t even mention my name Arthur!! Your brother is scary and it’s better to keep it a secret from him for now. You wanna be like a hero right!!” she kept talking as Marco was silent.

Arthur on the other side was getting bored by that too as he was about to respond to her words. Marco spoke instead,

“You say some interesting thing, woman. Now who are you again?”.

Marco kept a calm face as he confirmed that no one could see her just like Yuna and the others.

“You can see me!!” Karma was scared as hell the moment Marco looked at her direction.

“You’re one of our ancestors or perhaps?” Marco responded as Arthur replied this time.

“She’s my curse!!”.

He said in a rushed voice somehow happy that Marco could see her too. Marco looked at her then at Arthur as he sighed, he kept silence for almost ten minutes then finally said something back to Arthur,

“It was meant like that anyway. Prepare yourself you’re coming with me” as Marco responded another unexpected guest appeared.

“I wanna come too, Marco nii!!” Sophie appeared out of nowhere making Marco and Arthur startled to see her do that with her bunny ears almost jumping from joy.

“Sigh, I wasn’t expecting to return to the human realm just after a few days , man this work is…something happened there?”.

Emilis was talking to himself as he noticed that one of the barriers that he was putting on Arthur were undone that instant. He stopped for a second as he was inside the office room at the restaurant. Revising what they talked about he remembered that Marco said to him if the barrier was undone then it’s his work.

“I’m not surprised after what Alba told me about him. Perhaps it's time to truly search about Marco’s…”.

Emilis was talking to himself while walking towards Marco’s house as he stopped talking so suddenly after seeing that Hana was looking at him while standing next to the front door.

“Oya!! Hana chan!! What are you doing here?!” he bluffed it out as he saw that she was worried somehow.

“Master Emilis! nice timing!! Do you know where Marco and the others are!? The house has been empty for a week now!!” Hana responded as she looked worried more than usual.

Emilis looked at her then at the house as he sighed after that knowing that it’s not worth doing things behind their back. Eventually, he dropped the idea of searching about Marco’s past on his own. After hearing her question Emilis took some time and responded after.

“Ah! sorry, I took them somewhere to train. They said it’s needed so they would do it if they wanna reach the win in the festivals”

His response made Hana look more flustered.

“He took Sophie and Arthur with him!! I thought he wanted to hide the things for them!!” she said as she saw him looking at the house again.

“Things are going well on that matter, and Arthur can use lightning too right so no problem!!” he responded with a smile.

“Oh !! He finally showed that!! Man, I've been living on a sticky thread hiding that fact from Marco!!”.

Hana’s words left Emilis looking stunned, he sighed then dragged her with him, wanting to get more answers on this info. He saw that she wanted to enter the house as she has the key too, Therefore he convinced her by something more important that she needs to look in with him for the meantime.
