15th chapter : Selicia’s serment .

After getting called by Eyezar for a small job with a good amount of won , Marco found himself in a weird situation and now he’s about to buy lunch for two strangers he doesn't know.

“Sorry for not introducing myself earlier. I’m Marco Deca, pleased to meet you, miss?” Marco said as he tried to sweet things with them.

“Ruby, Ruby Vonbismuth! pleased to meet you too” Ruby replied as she smiled at him.

“And I’m Cor, Cornelius Salazar, calling me Cor will be enough” Cor introduced himself forcibly after feeling left out by these two.

“Oh, right. Sorry, also Ruby san, what kind of food do you like? I’ll treat both of you” Marco put a smile on his face trying to change the mood.

“Don’t act that tough, it’s already enough for us, she got a special grade serment, that hairpin matches what I was looking for, it seems that there are still some traces for such a world like that” Cor said after stretching his neck a little saying that they’ll go back home.

Marco stopped walking then took a deep breath as he sighed after.

“Ruby san!! I wanna eat pancakes!! There’s really a good restaurant here!! I wanna let you taste it!!” Marco immediately pulled off a joke getting the attention of Ruby as she got hooked easily.

“Really!!!?” she asked.

Cor was pissed off as he saw Marco trying to pull them with him in addition he had no choice but to follow after Ruby insisting on him too much.

After that small argument in the middle of the road, they entered a small stall at the eastern part of the palm city.

“Well, what should I order?!” Ruby was all pumped up looking at the menu.

“Order whatever you want, it’ll be my treat!!!” Marco responded with the same smile.

“Well, I’d like to get the third order please. and get some extra fries and a smoothie, strawberries smoothies,” Cor said as he was the first one to order after the arrival of the waitress.

Marco and Ruby looked at him as they had a blank reaction.

“What!!? you said it’s for free, so of course I’m eating!!” Cor protested at the moment. “I’ll take the same order as him!! also I’ll go to the toilet for a second” Ruby said after him as she moved up.

She took her time as she ordered something else, Cor and Marco were staring at each.

“I don’t like how you treated us but I’d rather say this to you, I’m interested in having a full research on the euro. Ruby is still new to this but she can be handful, I know that you know about a small amount of serments in those creepy antique stores, all I need is a part of history” Cor started speaking first.

“What made you talk?” Marco asked.

“Well, don’t mind me, I’m a history lover so this is kinda my thing. I believe that the council itself holds some things hidden. That’s why there’s no history to learn about, but I was able to check on a lot of things. Such as old stories but true at some point, that hairpin was kinda our objective. the curse hairpin or something I don’t remember what they called it” Cor replied with a smile on his face, “It belongs to a woman who doesn't know neither fear nor mercy. although, I believe that she didn’t live in this whole world. I wanna confirm it, if there’s other worlds that the council is hiding from us”.

Cor was serious for a second then soon stopped as Ruby returned from the restroom. Marco somehow felt a chill in Cor’s words, though he didn’t think of it too much and told them to start eating.

“Man!! that was really delicious!! thanks Marco kun!!” Ruby said as she was looking around.

The three of them were walking on the beach before going back to the train station.

“By the way! Marco kun!! What guild do you belong to?” Ruby asked out of the blue as she was playing with water.

“Huh? I guess that’s obvious looking at the circumstances and the current city, I’m from Red mermaid” Marco replied calmly.

“heeh?! you belong to such a creepy guild, how unpleasant” Ruby murmured with a smile on her face as she was touching the water with hand while kneeling down.

Marco felt something weird as the same time he met her the first time, he didn’t say anything yet he kept gazing at the flow of the water.

“Sigh, Ruby!!! time to go back so let’s get going” Cor said as he looked at his watch, he took the two’s attention.

“Oh right, I don’t mind showing you the way to the train station” Marco said as he saw him a little tired from this walk.

“Sure!! I’ll be glad to accept this too” Ruby replied with the same smile as Marco, she couldn’t help but to fake a smile at the moment.

It didn’t take them a lot of time to reach a turn where there’s no people, Marco noticed that Cor was dropping something on the ground as they were walking. On top of that, Selicia confirmed that there were some items to make non holders stray out of the way. These items could be often found at the entrance of the gates at every district.

“You know. I’m not the type to complain about the thing that doesn’t bother me. but seriously why the effort of dropping some stuff that shouldn't be in your pocket in the first place” Marco said as he stopped walking.

“You figured it, already.” Cor responded.

“Sigh, I don’t like the way to do these things but since we couldn’t talk freely earlier, I’d rather have you in my house than trying to do this” Marco was about to release his serment then Alice came unexpectedly.

Out of fear and knowing that she was their Vice master Cor and Ruby accepted.

“Well, we don’t think this would get on our terms of discussing things are we?” Alice said.

“Of course!! It was my fault!! you are?” Ruby acted for a second like the way she was when they first met.

“Alice Rayleigh, Red mermaid vice master. and you two are Nate’s juniors, sigh, what a pain in the ass to meet you here” Alice replied with some serious expressions.

Moments after,

“Really sorry!! I was going to ask you a few questions about the history or stuff, and I thought not having Yomus around us is going to make us comfortable” Ruby replied while staying in the same road.

“Yomus?” Marco asked as it was the first time he heard that word.

“Uh? you don’t know what Yomus means?” Cor asked as he was surprised.

“The term Yomus is the term we call off for the people with no euro inside them. In other words the normal people, if you are done with asking then go back to black heart, we don’t call people like that in red mermaid” Alice replied instead explaining the things.

“Well, if he doesn’t know about the general terms means that he doesn’t know a lot of things, sorry for making the fuss” Cor said as he was about to remove the barriers.

“But you know, since there are barriers I really wanna try this one!!” Ruby was weirdly speaking as she released her serment.

Right then she attacked Marco with a water slash but didn’t hit him as the chains guard it.

“What’s the meaning of this!!” Alice was startled as she didn’t expect that at all.

The moment was tense but soon ended as Ruby giggled and bowed, she laughed it out with that smile again.

“Really sorry!!! it’s my first time using it so I thought since the Vice master of red mermaid is here no harm in trying some stuff” Ruby acted childishly “Of course, what girl I’ll be if I tried to kill a person who doesn’t even know his history” she whispered her last words as Alice sighed removing the barriers cords.

Marco heard her out loud but didn’t want to speak up about it.

“So what are you going to do now?” Marco asked out of the blue.

“Huh, I guess returning home is the first thing I should do, sorry for attacking you so suddenly,” Ruby replied, apologizing.

“Well, I don’t think we are going to meet any sooner. so let’s clear this misunderstanding here” Cor said as he bowed too,

Few seconds later Marco sighed, responding “no need, I’m not the type to hold grudges, so please raise your head”.

After apologizing and going on their own way, Cor and Ruby took a turn to look around once more before returning home.

“Well, are you sure you wanna leave it like that?” Cor asked as he saw Ruby smiling much more than usual.

“Don’t worry, don't worry!! Also I got what I wanted and confirmed our objective, an object from the Deca family is what we needed” Ruby was smiling too much then suddenly looked aside as she returned to her childish act tapping on Cor’s back

“now!! Let’s get home already, I wanna eat dinner!!” she said.

On Marco’s side,

“I don’t really know what they wanted but I’m sure it wasn’t on purpose, I used it that way too when I got it for the first time, well at least not to kill a person” Marco said replying to Alice who asked him what happened.

“I see, so that’s just her first time using a serment, sigh” Alice said.

“At least she didn’t put any danger on the people, also aren’t you injured?” Carla said as she appeared out of nowhere.

“huh? I’m not injured, if you two are here then who’s at home with Sophie and Arthur?” Marco asked.

“Hana san came by, aside from this what kind of serment that girl had?” Carla said, wanting to know about the full story.

“Hmm, well it’s Selicia neechan’s hairpin so I believe it has some of….Water witchcrafts?” Marco replied then looked aside.

Carla and Alice right away asked one thing “ Marco! this Selicia, who is she?”.

Marco looked aside then sighed “ I told you didn’t I, she’s my ancestor! Now let’s get home. I fear what Hana would do if I’m not there” his answer wasn’t really understandable but both giggled a little as they followed him after.

The next day,

“Uhm, how the hell did you get my house’s address?”.

Marco asked Ruby and Cor who were standing in front of his house waiting for him, they clearly did him dirty with this sudden appearance.

“We asked our master to ask your master for the address, it seems you have a beautiful place!!” Ruby replied with a cherished smile.

“We wanted to apologize about yesterday so we came all the way here again” Cor answered after Ruby with a sigh.

“Who are they?” Arthur suddenly appeared behind them.

Ruby flustered as she didn’t sense him “woah!! that scared me!!”.

“they’re people that I delivered something for them yesterday, get inside I’ll come right after” Marco’s reply was obviously saying that he doesn’t want visitors.

And so this brings that, Hana made Marco let them get inside as she appeared after Arthur. Ruby stayed coming for a week, spending time around Marco’s house.

Sophie got hooked on Ruby and started calling her big sis, Arthur on the other side wasn’t that hooked but he took a liking to Ruby. While everyone was having fun, Cor had his fullest time speaking with Marco on everything , Marco on his own side took his time and learned a lot of things based on what other guilds’ members see in this world.

A week later,

“Sorry for really bothering you this last week, I had fun and kinda made a lot of new friends around!!” Ruby said as she smiled.

“Well, as long as my brother and sister aren’t annoyed about both of you, I’ll allow it. What are you going to do now?” Marco responded.

“Since we don’t belong to the same guild, I’m not obligated to tell you, though we will see each other at the festival!!” Cor had a confident smile on him as he was getting fired up.

“I see, I don’t mind having a small contest, right Carla?” Marco replied with a calm expression as he addressed Carla at the end of his words.

She felt flustered opening the front door as she was behind it.

“Well, we will be on our way!! Ruby and Cor said as they bowed after going.

“How did you know that I was behind the door?!!” Carla asked.

“Huh? of course you are. well, don’t let it bother you, and sorry I had strangers running wild around our house for a whole week” Marco apologized all of a sudden.

“Huh!? Heeeee!!!? Why are you apologizing? this is your house!!!” Carla felt startled.

“Don’t say that. I told you when you came here for the first time, we are family now, so this is your house too” he replied calmly then entered first.

“Sigh, I don’t really see a way to apologize now, stupid” Carla whispered as she was all red covering her mouth.
