24th chapter : travel between words .

One week earlier, Marco struggled with Arthur to make him go with Sophie and Emilis on a trip overseas. Arthur was too stubborn to the point where he made it clear to Marco that he knows about the euro and other things , such as Marco’s re awakening.

“Uhm, I don’t really know what both of you like so order whatever you want” Emilis said to Arthur and Sophie.

The three of them were at the airport’s café waiting for the plane, Emilis had it clear that the two siblings were clearly not giving him any importance as they were only acting humble just like what their brother told them.

“Sophie, what do you want to eat?”.

Arthur asked after listing to Sophie what there was on the menu.

“I’ll take an orange juice!! Marco nii said it was really delicious!!” Sophie replied as Emilis smiled at her.

Arthur eventually ordered a strawberry smoothie, Emilis wasn’t much surprised by what he ordered but how he knew that Sophie would want to taste it if Arthur brought it.

“You two really are good kids. Well, shall we get going?” Emilis said after paying the bills.

Both had given him a small glare with a snort hinting that talking wouldn’t be really on the mood for them.

After walking a little, Arthur and Sophie noticed that they weren’t walking on the way to a normal plane as they saw a small one aside with no people.

“Master Emilis!! Where are we going ?!” Sophie asked.

“Oh! I didn’t tell you!! We are going to a place that is really awesome!! and really cool!!”.

Emilis replied as they were walking to reach a place beyond the airport where the planes were. As soon as they reached it, they met with a pilot.

“What now, you got some kids at your place now?” The pilot asked as she was smiling at Sophie.

“That’s rude Amano! They aren’t my kids but my subordinate’s siblings. I left them with a big job so I took these two with me” Emilis replied with a smile too.

“Heeh!? and I thought you finally found some things that made you regret being yourself,” the pilot Amano replied.

Amano’s joke was getting on Emilis’ nerves.

“So you are Sophie chan and Arthur kun!!! Nice to meet you guys!! I’m Amano!! Amano Fuku!! I’m a pilot and a member of Night Owls!!”.

Amano said as she was smiling at them then both Sophie and Arthur asked.

“Night Owls?”.

Amano instantly looked at Emilis who was awkwardly smiling because she was about to reveal something that both of them didn't know.

“Forget the last part!! Anyway!! Amano san is here to deliver us to where we want to go! so get inside!!”.

Emilis tried to change the topics as Arthur said after nodding to Sophie.

“You know I don’t really get what big brother is trying to hide from me but I already know that Sophie can grow bunny ears when she gets enthusiastic”.

Arthur’s words were shocking as Sophie showed Emilis what she can do.

Two hours later,

After seeing what Sophie can do, Emilis got all fired up. Amano flew with her plane and instantly went to the sky.

“If you knew that, you could’ve at least told your brother” Emilis said, responding to Arthur’s words from earlier.

“I didn’t want to bother him. Also, I wanna see what master can do, that’s why I came, otherwise I really see you as a suspicious man”.

Arthur replied to Emilis then found himself about to be getting tossed outside in the middle of the sky. Sophie was immersed in the view as it was her first time flying off the ground in such high length.

“Don’t play with him like that and you are mad cause he finds you suspicious. Also, Arthur kun!!! That’s bad manners, and we are about to arrive at our destination!!” Amano said as she was walking in the plane.

“Are you ok leaving the plane this way!!?” Arthur and Emilis asked.

“Well, it’s in pilot mode so it’s ok!!” Amano said with a smile on her face.

Arthur and Sophie wondered what she meant by her words earlier, then they reached a big amount of clouds ahead of them blocking the way.

“Finally reaching! Master Emilis, the area is yours!!” Amano said as she suddenly sealed the plane that was her own serment.

“Heh?” Arthur let out a surprised squeak voice as he saw himself in the middle of the sky after the disappearance of the plane.

“And here we go!!” Emilis responded as he created an invisible ground beneath them.

“W-We-We’re flying!!!” Arthur screamed all pumped up about what just happened.

“You like that, It means that both of you will like where we’re going now!!!” Amano smiled at them while holding Sophie who got her bunny ear appearing out of excitement too.

“Sheesh, Marco should have shown them the other side of the world a long time ago”.

Emilis murmured as he opened a gate in the clouds. As soon as they passed through it, they were amazed to see the insides.

After crossing the portal, They entered a parallel place. The inside of the clouds were filled with multiple shiny colors, and everything can be seen as a mirror. These parallel places were an abnormal case where the monsters are astral type monsters, so normal attacks don’t work on them and only the vice master class or a high class AA rank holder who can produce pure euro rays can deal with them.

The monsters aren’t that strong but they are immune to physical attacks and elemental attacks. They feed on the euro reserves and sometimes appear out of nowhere in the middle of the five great cities or the main streets.

The council had doubts that they were the work of some group of bandits but after reviewing some documents and Emilis wanting to take care of the case. He ordered the council to lend someone from other guilds to help him.

And that’s how Amano came for, she was the sole candidate that filled the needs of Emilis’ request, let alone being a pilot which helps out in reaching the far distance.

“It’s beautiful isn’t it?!” Emilis addressed Arthur who was looking around.

“Yeah, but why are we here? it’s not just for sightseeing!” Arthur asked.

“Clever boy, we are here for that!” Amano answered.

Arthur looked aside as he saw a yellowish ghost emerging from the ground of the clouds.

“Well, it’s not that big of a problem. But since we are in the middle of the sky I’d say that I need to see what I can do cause we still have three more to go” Emilis responded as he was accumulating the euro particles from the ground after touching it.

The monster picked their euro signals then dashed to attack.

“These kinds of monsters need to be killed by euro particles. Arthur kun!! Sophie chan!! Since we are on a trip, let’s call it a learning field trip. I’ll tell you everything about the euro society before I finish my work here. Amano san will help too!!” Emilis blurted these words out before piercing a hole in the head of the astral monster. “Before I start!! I need a name for this kind of monster. it’s their first time to appear so let’s give them a good name!!”.

Emilis asked the two of them to think of a name as he was really enjoying himself in the middle of that mess, while on the same side Amano was still surprised by how calm and resonating the two siblings were in front of that kind of monster. It only shocked her more to learn how fast they came up with a name for it.

An hour passed,

“Uhm, these Palferia are really strong compared to the other guys, they are learning fast!” Emilis said as he was taking them like dead shots one by one.

“Master is surely getting tired, can I join the fight!!” Arthur proposed out of the blue as Amano looked at him.

“By any chance do you have a serment Arthur kun?” she asked.

“Huh, no. I don’t have any serment or weapon. But I can do the moves that I learned from video games!!!”.

Arthur’s reply showed that his mindset was still of a 10 years old kid that was enthusiastic because of seeing something marvelous for the first time, he smiled then ran towards Emilis.

“Master!! I came to help!!” he said with a smug face.

“Ehehe, even Amano san there can’t beat them. Sorry but you…can’t help?”.

As Emilis replied he was shocked by what Arthur suddenly did. As he was running towards the Palferia, Arthur took a deep breath then unleashed a good amount of euro particles in the shape of lightning on his hands then jumped right to the Palferia’s head. He blew it with one hit.

“I can do this much!!” Arthur roared with a calm smile.

“Was that lightning!?!” Amano asked as she was amazed.

Emilis took a good look at Arthur then he started laughing out loud. He just saw something extremely rare for such an occasion.

“That’s not lightning exactly but the shape was looking like lightning. Arthur here is the second special case I’ve seen. Not quite, the third exactly, You three siblings are the first people who can use euro particles without serments!” Emilis was the most surprised person.

“I guess so!! also can I finish the rest” Arthur interjected as he wasn’t surprised since he was the one who did it.

“Yeah you can continue the rest. I’ll mention this in the reports you know” Emilis allowed him to do so.

“Don’t put that please, I don’t want my brother to be bothered!!” Arthur was startled for a moment.

Arthur responded then went off finishing the rest of the Palferias. It didn’t take him a lot of time to get used to moving while fully covered in euro particles.

“Gahhaa!! That was a good movement!! I’m fed up so you can have the rest, Master” Arthur was getting tired for his first time using the euro.

Emilis found it hilarious, how that little kid was acting high and mighty, yet not even having the slightest fear of monsters around him. That would be also said to his little sister who was also much calmer.

After finishing the last Palferia, Amano released her serment again and took their way to the next station.

“Show me that again, both of you!” Emilis spoke suddenly as they were taking a rest in the plane.

“Hai!!” siblings spoke in unison.

Arthur and Sophie said as they did what they could do. Arthur released a small lightning bolt and Sophie released her bunny ears. Emilis took a look then patted their heads. Amano flicked his head from the back.

“You know that their brother will scold you for this, they’re not toys for you!” Amano scolded him as she brought them hot chocolate.

“It’s ok, as much as my big brother will be mad and will kick the shit out of master Emilis, he’ll be satisfied with us getting along with him”.

Arthur was smiling while speaking loudly as he looked at Emilis. Amano looked at Arthur then figured that he was talking honestly.

“Well, at least Emilis will get some scolding. Now can you tell me how you did that!! I wanna learn it too!!” Amano joined the chat with a happy look.

Few moments later,

“That’s no use. I can’t exactly understand what you meant!! What do you mean, by wham and bam it’s perfect!?! this is a kid’s logic”.

Amano protested as she was getting the vibes of surrendering to the fact that Arthur is doing it by pure talent.

“Don’t worry, I’ll show you a trick for it later. It’s not that easy though” Emilis tried to cheer her up as they reached their destination.

He smiled while doing the same thing as earlier.

“Arthur kun, It’s not to crush your high altitude but if you can do that level of controlling then you are talented but if you can reach this level then I’ll call you a genius” Emilis had to give it all.

Emilis gathered a small amount of euro then condensed it while pointing at the Palferia as if he was holding a gun. The next thing they noticed was a large hole in the clouds with all the Palferia’s getting ridden off.

“Hai, I’ll pass for now. Or I guess I’m gonna get my reserves or what we call them sucked out” Arthur said as he sighed.

“Huh, I thought you were like your brother. He said something about being a Boundless euro holder or stuff like that” Emilis was quite annoying to the point where he had Arthur finish the last part.

Having all the three cloud places finished, Arthur was quite tired and had to take a rest along with Sophie who was sleeping. Before he could take a nap he asked.

“Now I remember, what time is it?”.

“Around 8am in the morning, also it’s the fifth day of the week trip. It seems that the insides of that parallel place is distorting the time sensing for us. hmm!?” Emilis answered as he suddenly got a phone call after that “Hai, are you sure? Well, I don’t mind. Huh? Marco is with you, Don’t tell him that we are coming, he’ll obviously refuse it. I’ll come by the second day of the event, don’t worry. And yeah I’ll get some things for you”.

Emilis seemed to be talking with Shoko.

“Great news!! We’re going to meet up with your brother at the Billy streets!!” Emilis put on a smile.

“Really!!!?” Arthur and Sophie woke up.

“Not like he’ll be that mad but prepare yourselves!! You’re gonna see your big brother during his time of duty!!” Emilis was acting childish to get their smile on.

“And the rest, we entered with Amano neechan and went to where Marco nii was staying. He even told us to buy whatever we want!!”.

A day after returning to their house, Sophie was telling what happened to the other members of red mermaid at breakfast.

“I’m glad you enjoyed the trip. Eat your breakfast first, this time we are going to the restaurant together!!” Carla responded with the same enthusiasm despite being not fully awake yet.

“Really!!” Sophie spoke in joy.

“Of course, we aren’t gonna leave our fluffy bunny inside the house. Today!! Sophie chan is going to help us too” Xavier replied, patting her head.

She smiled as she hugged him tightly.

“A big problem!!!!” Alex came rushing to the kitchen.

“Huh!?” the others looked at her.

“Marco is not…Marco is not breathing!! He’s dead!!!” she yelled while holding her mouth in fear.

“heeh, is that so?! leave him be. He’ll wake up soon”.

Carla and Alice replied since it wasn’t their first time experiencing this, Xavier and Zack looked at them with the same fearful face as Alex.

“Why be so goddamn noisy in the goddamn morning. Alex senpai, you got work to do” Marco suddenly appeared behind her as he patted her shoulder.

“GAHHHAAAA!!!!!!” she screamed in fear as she collapsed.

Carla and Sophie giggled remembering Alice’s first time experiencing this kind of accident, unlike others who clearly had a blank face for what they just saw.

“I’m embarrassed to say that I passed through the same thing” Alice murmured as she was eating her breakfast.

Things got peaceful after a small explanation and a proof that it always happens, and mostly Arthur and even Sophie or Carla aren’t bothered by it anymore.

“We are heading out!” Zack and Arthur said as they were wearing their shoes.

“to where?” Marco asked.

“Huh, the restaurant of course!!” Arthur replied.

“You don’t go to school but you wanna stay at the restaurant, what kind of logic is that?” Marco interjected.

“Blame yourself for not telling me earlier!” Arthur rushed outside fearing that his brother might not let him go.

“It’s ok! it’s ok!! I’m gonna head first so close the windows before going outside” Carla responded to Marco’s words as she finished breakfast with Sophie then went to prepare themselves.

After everyone’s leaving outside, Marco looked around him while washing the dishes. the silence was overcoming Marco’s senses then a fragile words came across his mouth.

“Is it ok to not be abandoned? Is it ok to pretend that they don’t hate our acts” a fragile hollow was calmly straying in Marco’s eyes.

“It’s not for our sake but for our siblings sake. So tough it out, see, always seek the sunny side of the story” as he said Marco took a deep breath then looked aside again as he spoke on his own again

“Huh?! Was I talking to someone? that’s strange I’m starting to get tired for nothing” Marco sighed after that and headed to work not thinking about what happened to him, and even forgetting it.
