40th chapter : out raging .

After a week of training, all of the red mermaid members showed outstanding results that shocked Alba more than how Marco did on his own. Eventually, they all passed to the second phase of euro flow controlling.

a week later, 3rd June 19xx,

“It’s been a whole week since the last time I started training with you guys. So, one of us will be the chaser and the others will need to mark him at least once without getting caught”.

Marco said as they were in the middle of the forest waiting for more instructions from Alba who was calmly watching.

“Wait, you did this before?” Carla asked as she was looking around, noticing that no wolf has appeared recently.

“I only did it three times with Alba sensei and lost each time I tried to run away” Marco responded honestly as he looked at Alba having a smug face.

“On the other hand, he got bored so fast and asked to go on to the next training. But this time, you won’t be able to skip it with this many people on your side. Am I wrong ?!” Alba responded while keeping that smug smile on him.

Emilis, who returned three days earlier, was taking a seat with Sophie on his lap as the two were calmly drinking juice, watching them arguing as if both of them were on a Hawaiian trip. Marco sighed on the other side too as they looked at him.

“Well, if Alba sensei is going to be the chaser then I don’t need to hold back”. he calmly stated, giving his glasses to Sophie who genuinely smiled a happy smile expressing that she was longing to see him and Alba sensei in full act.

After seeing that Marco was determined to fulfill the requirements of this training, all of them got fired up too.

“The training limits will be if you got out of the forest, you’re safe and clear to continue the training and you got thirty points for surviving, each hit I get from you will be rewarded with ten points. The only time limit is until you reach the end of the day or get out of the forest. Is it understandable!?!”.

Alba roared at last as they all responded with the same fired up spirit.

“It’s good, the game judge will be Sophie and Emilis there. Each one of you will get a result by the end of the day, if my hands caught you there’s no dinner!!”.

He roared before launching the starting sign, as they all were about to run away Marco took the other side and leaped straight behind Alba as the two were about to face each other. In the fragments of seconds red mermaid members didn’t understand a thing as Marco’s punch created a giant Gale towards Alba who was at its center. Right after hitting him Marco took some steps to the back then roared to the rest “Run!!”.

They all were flustered but started running as fast as they could. On the other hand, Alba was overjoyed.

“You’ve improved a lot!! kehehehe!!” he said, wiping some dust off his face.

“Thank you! but I’m not close to a good state as yours”.

Marco responded, making a diversion by punching the ground with a wind thrust then threw three others at him in addition to running away after getting Alba caught in guard.

“Oho! Your brother has surely exceeded his limits!!”.

Emilis said to Sophie who had her bunny ears appearing from excitement responding to what Emilis talked about.

“That kid has really grown this much. To unleash such an ominous strong wind with a single punch, I’ll make sure to make him pay for that!! Ready or not!! I’m coming!! Gahahaha!!” Alba shouted in the middle of the forest as he ran after them.

“Just when we thought we could rise to a certain level!!”.

Alice roared as she was running along with the rest. The second she talked Marco made her duck out of nowhere avoiding a string that tried to catch her.

The others were surprised by Marco’s sudden appearance, he took a stop then instantly unleashed a gale again towards the direction of Alba.

“This will make him lose some time, sigh” he calmly said after looking at the direction of where he launched the gale.

“What the hell is this thing you’re using?” Alex asked.

“Arthur can use Lightning right?” Marco responded.

“That’s true!!” Arthur replied with a smug face as Marco spanked his cheek for that.

“I can use wind to fight, what you saw me using is an outrage. Now I think about it, when I fought Carla for the first time I was about to hit her like this too” Marco said, calmly making them startled and afraid for a second there.

Carla on the other side was looking more like she just passed to the other side from fear.

“Anyway, if you did all this means that he won’t be coming after us!!”. Xavier responded though Marco interrupted him as he took a deep breath.

“Alba sensei’s title was the demon dweller. Don’t underestimate him, do not even think about it” as he responded Marco got blown away by a sudden hit though his chains appeared before Alba would appear.

The punch was too brutal as the afterwave of it made them tremble.

“Looks like an end game for today!”.

Alba coldly smiled, walking towards them slowly. Letting his guard down, Alba was sure that no one was going to pull anything against him, therefore that wasn’t what the red mermaid had in mind.

In that calm atmosphere a sudden lightning struck the area with Arthur kicking Alba on the face with everything he got, the others spread out around him. Alba was surprised.

“I don’t know when our reserves will get to the last drop but this is the best thing we can do!!”.

Xavier roared, holding a big tree alongside Zack as Alice and Carla blew it at Alba who was still stunned by Arthur’s lightning attack. At that moment all of the red mermaid members showed an outstanding performance while facing their fear as Alba was being pushed by the blown trees.

He started laughing out loud at their acts then instantly stopped being pushed and caught all the trees in the middle of the air by his threads.

“That’s interesting!!” Alba roared with a smile knitted on his face.

“Here!! I’m returning the punch for ya!!” Marco came from the west side, dashing with everything he got. In that aspect, same as Marco, Alba’s threads were getting formed by instinct straight to where the punch was heading as if it was sensing the directing flow of the euro particles.

“You’re alright after that punch! That’s amazing!!” Alba said as the threads blocked the punch for him, therefore he was more surprised noticing the threads that got cut from Marco’s wind thrust, right after the punch landed on.

On Marco’s side who was still midair to land the punch, he swiftly crossed his arms in pulling some chains,

“I’m not a weakling like I used to be!”.

He roared back at Alba before pulling all the trees by force towards him. And again, Marco made a run for it as soon as Alba was unable to move for those few seconds.

“Wow, the base of the game was don’t get caught and run away but if they do this” Emilis was speaking while watching from far with Sophie who was enjoying sweets as if she was in a cinema with all the trees getting blown off like in an action movie.

“It’s more like, punch and run around not fleeing away game”

Alba was talking to himself while getting out from the tree’s trap. He cracked his neck before starting to stretch his arms and legs.

“Now, let’s start phase two real training!” Alba spoke in a cold voice as the whole area became like a garden to him.

Red mermaids felt a dense euro pressure as if their necks were getting torn apart.

“What the!?!” Alex said though she shut her mouth in fear after sensing that euro pressure getting more silent.

That sudden fear made them only think about running away as all of them got frightened about whether they would be able to do it or not. That small fragment of Alba’s euro pressure made even Marco tremble a little before starting to run away too, accepting the idea of not fighting and only running.

“What the hell is this!” Arthur roared as he was running next to Alice.

“Don’t look back and continue running! we have to pass this!! we have to!!!” Alex responded alongside Zack too, at that moment a sudden giant tree fell out of nowhere and blocked the way for them.

“There’s no way we could return and there’s no way we could turn around!!” Carla said in a shock.

Caught within that sudden shock they looked behind to see nothing but darkness out of fear.

“The second phase that Marco talked about is to control the flow of emotions, fear, joy, anger, pain, pressure, unexpected raging out, that’s what we need to look at the most,” Alex said as she calmed down out of the blue.

Looking at how she was composed, the others felt like she figured something out.

“That’s not exactly one hundred percent, but you got the gist of it”.

Alba appeared from the forest holding the knocked down Marco on him.

“I know but for now, I guess the euro pressure is maxing the control flow around the Limbic system and closing the holes to a certain level. He doesn't really give any proper hints but at least I know I can understand what he said more than anyone else here!!” Alex smiled back at Alba who was having a thrilling grin on him.

In the moment that both of them smiled, Alex let out a far denser euro pressure that made Alba kneel for a second. The others were affected too but mostly it made Marco regain consciousness and break free from Alba, pinning him to the ground with a kick, subsequently blowing him away. After that, Marco picked up Alex who fell on the ground and ran away with the others.

“That was one hell of euro pressure Senpai!”. Marco shouted, addressing Alice who denied what he said, replying.

“If it was me I’d rather cut the tree than use a euro pressure, that was Alex’s doing!!”.

Xavier continued the brief explanation after that too as the rest of them were proud about it. Marco was astonished by it as he said that he decided to at least make Alex reach the end of the race.

Upon feeling the sudden unexpected euro pressure Emilis was amazed the most.

“Alex pulled something like that! they’re getting crazy now!?” He spoke, patting Sophie’s head.

Sophie held her bunny ears and covered them for a while, because of the pressure as she wasn’t expecting that. They were all doing their best.

It ended up pissing off Alba at some point, making them all fail the test and giving them a beating, especially Marco.

They went back home by sundown.

“Sigh, I wasn’t expecting him to get angry because Alex pulled off a euro pressure” Xavier complained, feeling pain all over his body.

He was washing his body with Zack and Marco as the three of them were taking their time at the public bath.

“So any more explanation for what Alex did back then?” Zack asked Marco, who was calmly diving inside the water. “To be honest, I wasn’t expecting her to pull such a thing. More or less, who can pull something like the euro pressure is ..., picture it like they’ve met a death situation from before” Marco took some time but responded.

Zack and Xavier looked at him “What do you mean?” they asked, calmly wondering what he meant.

Marco sighed then continued talking.

“It needs a total shutdown at some certain point. Also the part that is responsible for the emotional responses, feelings like anger, anxiety, pleasure and mostly fear is damaged but looking fine on the physical body. That’s what we call a trauma,”.

As he finished his words, Marco looked at the two having a worried expression on them as he figured that at first and foremost they’re orphans that lost their parents or have been abandoned at some point of the events. He sighed after that and apologized.

“Then what about you?”.

Xavier asked Marco as they knew that he could pull something like that. He looked at him being buried inside water, not wanting to answer though he ended up answering after few second

“I’ll explain this shortly. You guys know that I lost my memories so I don’t really know what happened, I’m not sure but what I explained earlier about Alex senpai is applied to me and even to master Emilis or Alba sensei, more or less it differs on each person but it can also be called the pressure of death. When you reach the peak of your life and all the functions are going to stop, you can say that it’s the door past the fourth state, where I’m and master standing for now”.

Marco looked calm stating this information.

“You didn’t have any intention of explaining did you?” Xavier slapped Marco’s head for the weird answer.

“I didn’t finish and the first thing you’re gonna face is craziness and all the emotions piling up to your head, it will outburst as a survival instinct that sees only death upon the user”.

Marco finished his talk then glared at Xavier and Zack surprised but not shocked from what they heard.

“What about the other guild masters?” Zack asked out of the blue as they were walking back to the restaurant.

“I’ve only met master Alexander up till now so I don’t know about the others. That guy is way too old and mostly he experienced war or something”.

Marco’s answer was logical.

“The things are way too gloomy when we’re around you, I’m starting to feel almost like an old man too now!!” Xavier yelled as he was complaining about the sudden talk of unfortunate events.

Marco turned at him then responded,

“I didn’t ask for my face and way of talking to be gloomy. That's because I state only facts. You guys are worried about Alex senpai so just say it, I’m not really worried but I could say that I’m the same, she’s still my senpai too” Marco’s answer was surprising for the two again.

Zack and Xavier exasperated then Zack spoke instead,

“You know, the fact that you’re talking a lot means that you’re enjoying this. Since our talk was only on unfortunate stuff, seeing you happy, even though you don’t look like it, is kinda also a good positive face of our conversation! Right!!”.

Zack was way too optimistic making Xavier have a poker face with no comments to what he said a moment ago.

The three of them took the slow pace to return back to the restaurant. Since they accomplished mostly good deeds in the recent training, Alba allowed them to eat dinner although he was mad about them getting too enthusiastic for reaching that level.

“Seems like you did really pull a euro pressure though it wasn’t intentional!!” Emilis was praising Alex in the middle of eating dinner.

“No it was intentional”.

Alex responded with a keen smile on her face. They all stopped eating as they looked confused and startled by her words.

“I’ll explain , mainly it was because I got the gist of how to do it thanks to some certain weirdos!!” She spoke pointing at Marco and Emilis who were shocked the most. “And because I’m a teacher too!” She had a smug face.

“So you pulled the trick on your own?” Alba asked as they were waiting for the answer.

“You can call it my little secret for now, but as far as what Marco told us It’s quite the exact same thing as studying anatomy and nervous system. At first I was like it doesn’t need to be the same, just imagine any shape and it’ll work but I was wrong, well half wrong. It depends on the mutual understanding of both the astral body that represents the soul and the physical body, the ones who are past the fourth phase are to most likely be near a complex of emotions. It’s either they’re always longing for death or for life but they won’t be caring about the image that’s when the astral body will change shape to the first image of the heart as its core”.

Alex went on full navigator mode not knowing that most of the red mermaid members didn’t understand what she meant.

“Ah sorry, I made it harder for you guys. Anyway, to put it simply, I just used emotions as combustion to rage out everything I had. In other words, the second phase that makes you focus on the nervous system to imagine a good path process, can be passed by just knowing the base of the base of the limbic system, that is the one that is responsible for the emotional responses in our daily life!!” she was happy as she finished talking.

Marco looked at her with a surprised face knowing that she pulled a good explanation with a limited knowledge about the astral body.

“You jumped to such a conclusion just in a short period. I’m impressed” Marco said.

Marco tried to praise her but he got slapped again as she felt like it was teasing not praising. on the other side they all looked at her with a sparkle in their eyes.

“Alex nee!! Are there any other things you want to tell me?! I don’t understand what you mostly said but more or less I know how to do it!!”.

Arthur wanted to get stronger too as he asked her in that way but his way of talking just made it like he’s blabbering about his talent which made Alice flick his forehead this time.

After that small talk they all went to sleep, therefore feeling asleep Arthur felt something wrong and woke up on his own two hours later. He looked around but didn’t see his brother inside the room.

“He’s training at this late hour?” he said to himself after getting out of the room quietly “And the lights are off too?”.

As Arthur woke up he went down to the restaurant. A short time after he noticed something was off outside. He continued his way out to check and as it was fortunate for him as was his brother, his hearing was at top just to hear someone’s voice from far.

“Hey! There’s a kid outside! you said they’ll be asleep!!”.

The sudden fear in the voice made Arthur look straight to where the voice came from and let a strong bloodlust before vanishing from their sight.

“He vanished!!”.

The girl who was scared earlier said as she was trying to catch a glimpse of him again.

“You know, I’m sure that Marco nii is off training somewhere. So mostly it’s either, Master didn’t want to bother and catch y’all or he didn’t really care. What are you guys doing here?” Arthur surprised them by appearing in front of them in a split of a second.

They were scared, most of them were about to run away but Arthur grabbed their leader and made him take a seat on the floor where they were hiding.

“I’m not sure but you guys are the ones that my brother beat up a week ago?” Arthur smiled a devilish smile.

“We were just roaming around and watching the district as their watch guardsmen!!” replied the scared girl.

The girl kept her composure and laughed it out as Arthur didn’t really buy the bluff but he didn’t want to mess up with them more.

“Is that so! Well, I’m too young to get caught in some problems and Marco nii is already outside so no one would try to enter the restaurant!!”.

Arthur’s smile turned from scary to a gentle smile then as he was about to go away thinking that no one would try something funny on him, with letting his guard down Arthur got stung with a stun gun from behind.

The voltage was high as it made him feel paralyzed for a few minutes.

“Tsk, such a kid is making us sweat!! You play high and stuff!! You filthy kid!!”.

They were saying one after another as Arthur was on the floor unable to move, the last move made him really mad about what just happened.

In that aspect, the second that they tried to tie him up, the bandits felt fear just from looking at Arthur’s golden eyes that shone in the darkness.

Arthur was angry by that.
