64th chapter : ten guilds on top of the world .

The banquet of the festival, a tradition that the council has been holding for too many generations. The festival wasn’t generally with a precise location and date as the elders were always the ones to decide what will happen every four years to five mostly. It was an idea out of seeking entertainment but transformed to be one of the old traditions that the guild masters cherished the most.

“Welcome!! ladies and gentlemen!! the people who are watching us from their homes!! and the presidents of this world!! Everyone who happily joined us for this long awaited day, I shall declare the start of the banquet of the euro society festival!!” Dalian smiled towards the cameras “As I’m one of the elders who works in the council, I wanted to say that our secret officially is out for the world!!”.

For entertainment and also showing an example, Dalian made the joker card appear out of nowhere into the palm of his hand, let alone the joker drawing came out of it flying to the air before exploding like fireworks. That alone was a demonstration of what Dalian was able to do.

“In accordance with my position within the council I hold the name of, the elder of the jesters. I like this title, but that’s not what we came to talk about, for today!! In cooperation with all world’s leaders that unfortunately didn’t want to be here this evening, we declare that we are here to help!! they’re here to help! Working under the council’s law and being a few of the best at their jobs. The guilds that shall be in there for you!! I shall now declare the names of the guilds!!”.

Dalian said as he snapped, making the cameras all turn to the dark spots where the guilds’ main seats were sitting. that took them by surprise however it was also making the guilds masters anxious a little bit.

“Starting with number one on top of all the guilds !!”.

The light was spotted on the Grey Lions first as Dalian spoke with a confident smile.

“The Grey Lions!! with their master Alexander Hishin!! and their vice master Rayan Shinmon!!”.

Both Alexander and Rayan bowed to the people and cameras, so the seven seats also bowed, showing a courtesy fitting for their title.

“Second!! It’s the guild that all the people know and love!! Mostly as the idols that everyone loves their songs!! The Valkyries !! Along with their guild master Edina Macy!! And vice master Cami Leonard!!”.

Dalian said as the Valkyries showed a dignified act upon hearing their names being called. At that moment, the vice master’s name caught Marco’s attention.

Dalian looked at Marco before finishing the presentation because he knew what was held into his attention a second ago.

“Third in line!! The wooden bells guild!! With their guild master Jack Ripper!! and the vice master Dan Jones!!” Jack bowed to the camera along with his guild too as it became needed for a proper image of their guild, an act of respect towards their own selves and the council’s elder or in other words, to respond respectfully towards Dalian.

“Fourth in ranking!! Black heart!! The guild master Recka Hidi!! And his vice master Nate Hashim!!”.

Dalian smiled as he saw them all acting thoroughly.

“Fifth!! Sage tortoise!! Their master Annie Arlelt!! vice master Ralph Raymond!!”.

Annie was enthusiastic as she bowed with a calm smile, waving at the cameras to the people watching her.

“Sixth!! the lizards with their master Eren Arisa!! And vice master Mira Ley!!”.

By now everyone felt that Dalian was running out of words to compliment the guilds therefore they couldn’t show a dissatisfaction look as it was broadcasted.

“Seventh in ranking!! The Dragon myth!! With their guild master Diablo Han!! and vice master Ramirs Yur!!”.

Dalian started to feel anxious as he smiled awkwardly towards the ten guilds.

“Eighth in rank!! The white tigers!! We have Henry Ford in the guild master position!! And Haru fox as a vice master!!”.

The two alongside the rest of the seven seats bowed calmly as they knew it was about to end, mostly with the last two guilds to be presented.

“Ninth in ranking!! The night owls!! indeed it is our dear Jeanne Marin as the guild master!! and Rin Roselle as the vice master!! Once more I shall remind everyone that everyone is here to help and seek the joy of everyone else”.

Dalian looked at them then calmly smiled as the lights turned off again.

With the enthusiasm that was in the atmosphere of the room, everyone’s eyes showed disgust but for some point no one talked as Dalian seemingly was enjoying it, he smiled comfortably.

“Last in ranking!! Just like many rumors about any rising guild!! This guild had gotten its place with the help of their guild master single handedly!! Tenth in rank!! The red mermaid!! Their master Emilis Vengeance!! and vice master Alice Rayleigh!!”.

Dalian spoke as the lights were turned onto the red mermaid, however bowing wasn’t enough to stop the hatred chattery around at all.

“Well, haters gonna hate, thank you for this wonderful banquet, mister Dalian!”.

Emilis said, looking around with a calm smile, mostly triggering a lot of holders who were around. Emilis made sure that everyone was hearing him clearly, and so it made them more furious.

“Ahaha!! you’re truly an extraordinary holder master Vengeance so please!! And all of our holders in this hall!! Enjoy the food and the evening!!” Dalian responded as he bowed back to Emilis.

Without saying any other words the lights were turned on again and so the broadcast ended too.

“I guess this concludes the talk and so the banquet will start, for now go have fun around!” said Emilis.

Emilis clapped his hands and turned to his members as they all liked the sound of that. They looked eager to enjoy all kinds of events for the eve.

“What are you going to do now, master?”.

Marco asked Emilis as he saw him fixing his necktie. The rest instantly started splitting around, all got something to check for the night.

“I guess I’ll be staying around the other masters too, there’s a table for us!!” replied Emilis.

Emilis was about to go but stopped as he saw Marco eating on his own, while Vanica took Sophie and went to look around with the other members to meet with Fabia’s girls thereafter.

“Are you going to stay around here? I know that you know some people around too” Emilis looked at him with curious eyes as Marco sighed in response.

“I pretty much want to stay around just like the scaredy cat that is hiding next to me”.

Marco said, pointing to Alice who was putting her head on the table, however Emilis was already gone when Marco was talking to him but didn’t care for that anyway.

“Can I ask why are you staying around this table again?” Marco said as he addressed Alice who groaned after she heard his question.

“What are you talking about?” Marco slapped her hand for that.

“She’s talking about us! Long time no see Marco kun!!” Rin said as she came from behind.

“Oya!! Miss vice master Alice is feeling down now!?” Ralph arrived from the back too as he was meaning to tease Alice who stayed silent, looking flustered red.

“I guess a lot is happening but I’m glad that we all can meet!!”.

Ramirs said as she took a seat next to Alice as the other vice masters also took a seat around the table.

“So you’re the guy who insulted my juniors around!!” Cami said out of the blue as she was sitting face to face with Marco.

The other vice masters whistled as they saw that Cami was trying to scare Marco with some bloodlust therefore he didn’t flinch at all and kept eating, mostly ignoring her words.

“Although this is a meeting for the vice masters, why are you here?” Haru asked him as she was trying to provoke him too.

Marco looked at her whilst chewing on some meat. He finished it all up then responded with a plain poker face

“I don’t have anywhere to go and because this is the table of our guild red mermaid,” Marco said calmly.

They all looked at Haru getting red as Marco didn’t waste any effort in responding against her provocations.

“You little!!”.

Haru said, going to slap Marco’s face but they all stopped as Sophie popped up on Marco’s lap out of nowhere.

“Marco nii !! I’m tired and hungry!! Let me eat with you!!”.

Sophie said as she was trying to get some meat from Marco’s plate, looking at her made them all surprised for a moment.

As Sophie popped up, Alice took the chance to tease them while Marco was feeding Sophie.

“Ara !! Rin, you remember Sophie chan right!! This is our little angel bunny!! Sophie!!”.

Alice was trying to get Sophie’s from Marco’s lap, therefore he pointed a dining knife at her as he looked like he’s ready to beat her ass more if she talked again.

“one other word and I’ll stuff this inside you.”

Marco said, threatening her therefore Alice had the same look as him as she took Sophie from his lap.

“Anyway!! Cami!! Are you alright!? I mean, Sophie is way too cute and fluffy!! This little sister that I got is really the one that lightens our hearts in the restaurant!!”.

Alice was holding Sophie while having a smug grin waving Sophie in the direction of Cami who was trying not to look at her.

“You’re acting way too smugly, Alice!! Let me hold her too!!”.

Rin protested, trying to get Sophie and so Marco got annoyed by that.

“Let my little sister go, she’s not a toy”.

Marco said as he was trying to take Sophie back, the three of them were pulling until Sophie disappeared from their hands and was taken by Cami who couldn’t resist herself anymore.

“Kyaa!! So cute and fluffy!! She’s an angel!! the definition of-!!”

Before Cami would finish her words Marco took Sophie back after hitting Alice on the head.

“Here she goes!! The cuteness drunk Cami!! and is she going to be alright after this? and you say something Rayan you’ve been a little bit too calm!!” Ramirs commented as she pointed at Cami and Alice who were knocked down for different reasons.

“Senpai, you know that Sophie isn’t a toy so don’t rug her like that and let her-” Marco said as he let Sophie go away while Yuna was following her.

Marco spoke calmly, scolding Alice as he saw the male vice masters pointing to his back, he turned to see the other female vices furious.

“Listen here you little shit!! She might be your sister but we deserve to hold her a little!!”

“yeah like what she said!!”.

Cami and Rin spoke one after another as they were about to catch him from the clothes. At that moment, Marco snapped out of it, feeling the need to respond to this mockery

“Haa? like hell I would give my sister to a bunch of women like you, I’ll fight you if it went like that too, so brin-” responded Marco.

Marco was about to go into a fight with most of them, therefore it wasn’t for him that everyone calmed down as they all heard a lady giggling behind them.

“Seems like you’re getting lively Marco!”.

The lady said as she stepped between them whilst the vice masters all bowed to her.

“Been a-”.

Marco was about to respond to the lady, therefore Haru slapped his head and made him bow too. Marco turned to look at Haru with a bit of bloodlust before hearing her words.

“Idiot !! Is this normal for red mermaid members to disrespect the higher ups, she’s Layla Leigh!! An important figure in the council and the fourth ranked holder in the council!!” Haru spoke as if she was a fan as Layla giggled a little at the scene.

“No need to say all that Haru chan! After all, I just wanted to borrow him a little bit!!”.

Layla responded as she looked at their faces a little bit surprised about what she said. On the other hand, Marco sighed as they all lifted their heads up, still quite confused.

“Four years huh? Long time no see” Marco finished his words as they all looked at him with surprised expressions.

“Hmm!! Before we could talk!! Invite me to a dance!!” Layla responded, pouting at him although she blushed a little after that.

“Uhm, I’m not catching the things here right now. Is she being childish?!” said Rayan.

Rayan spoke what most of the other people who were watching wanted to say.

Marco looked at them then sighed and kneeled to her front

“Hai hai, you’re always this persistent Lu. Would you give me the right to take you in a dance my lady!”

Marco’s words had all the vice masters shocked, especially Alice who had never seen Marco talk this politely not even once at all.

As she heard him, Layla smiled and took his hand before they went outside to the balcony so they would take their time.

“Anything you wanna talk about Alice?” Haru asked Alice who still had her mouth wide open.

“Ah uhm I’m not sure myself and I don’t really see any explanation. That kid is the definition of gloomy and expressionless, we even call him goofball once in a while, but this is new” Alice calmly responded as she returned to her seat.

“Ah , they already met each other! seems like I was late to call him, I guess” Shoko said, arriving with some drink in her hand.

“What do you mean?” they asked as they were longing for answers.

“Uhm, more or less these two are old friends” Shoko said as she smiled at them with an awkward sigh at the end.

“I want to see more!! Let’s follow them there!!” Cami said as her love switch flipped up.

“I’m not saying that it’s bad but I guess it’s better to follow them too!! I want to know!!” Alice responded as she saw Shoko chuckling about their actions.

“I guess you won’t because they’ve already vanished from sight!!” Shoko said as she pointed towards the balcony.

“Gha!! search about them!!” Cami said, rushing outside with the others.

“You didn’t tell them the most important thing, Shoko san!!” Hana said with a jolly smile.

Hana returned to the table because she saw them heading to the balcony too. Shoko smiled softly as she took a seat on the table too.

Right before her reply even Hana took a seat looking at the vice masters heading for the balcony too all filled with enthusiasm, aside from the male vices who were dragged around forcibly.

“This will be for them to say not us plus he’ll be really mad if I said something out of my place, you know that well!!” Shoko responded shivering for a second by the end of her words.

Even Hana was surprised by that looking at how the other holders were glaring daggers during that moment. Since Layla was more like the public figure of the council, she was called the definition of strength and beauty.

For those glares from all sides of the room, little to nobody was curious about why Layla had spoken to Marco in the first place.

“Ahahaha, you got a point! He’s really going to be mad if we say anything in his place!”.

Hana responded to the complaints of Shoko while the two ordered more food from the butlers. The two had the same thought of this whole mess so they just went with the flow of events.

“Not just that but I guess he won’t be in much trouble either ways, Layla was kinda doing a lot of things during the past four years she went away” Shoko stated as Hana got hooked on the conversation.

“Hmm!? What do you mean?” Hana asked.

“Nothing much actually, I was talking about her achievements with the council, I suppose she was fourth or fifth ranked now?” Shoko answered after gulping some of that pie down.

Hana’s jaw dropped after hearing what Shoko had said.

“Wait for real?! but then again, Define the measurement of strength in the first place. The human realm had it bad with those stuff in the first place”. Hana muttered the last sentence as she saw that Shoko never minded the attention to their conversation full heartedly.

“Hmm, I guess so. I don’t really care about her achievements, the little sweet Layla was a nerdy girl that stepped up her game for the sake of being a good friend for Marco!!” Shoko said with a happy face at the sight of the desert in front of her.

“I suppose that’s true!!” Hana had the same reaction “She was the first girl I thought was passable to let her be around him. It was harsh, you know! Back then to choose a girl friend for him or whatever, that was so unlike him to not like school!! even though he was a closet nerd way back in our childhood!!”. Hana said as she felt like something slipped past her mouth that was filled with food.

Shoko heard her clearly but hardly understood some of those words as she replied thereafter,

“I dunno about Marco! personally, I see the two as one, a little adorable couple that I helped during the old times”.

Shoko’s words reminisced about the past and so did Hana too.

Marco currently is facing that past of his as he was leading a dance alongside Layla under the moonless night sky.
