26th chapter : the world that longs to you .

After getting lunch for Alex, Marco found himself on a quiet cliffhanger of events. Having to do some business for her and completely ignoring the work at the restaurant, now he has to deal with a small problem with holders at the same age as him.

“Ahaha!! don’t mind him, Marco san please take a seat!!” Rachel said, trying to change the topic.

“Marco kun!! I!!! Maria Sfiel!! Wanna make a reservation for tomorrow’s night in red mermaid!!!” Maria said as Marco looked at her.

“Haa?” he said.

Even with that small reaction he wasn’t the one to speak for what she said. a different person did.

“Why are you reserving a damn restaurant tomorrow!!?” Arlelt protested as he was surprised for a different reason.

Rachel looked at Maria then instantly hugged her in joy.

“Thank you Maria!!!” Smiled Rachel.

Marco didn’t understand what Maria and Rachel meant. The two were close friends and of course even Ralph had known what she meant, however for Marco he had to get some explanation so he can carry on with this conversation.

“Let me explain. Well, you only know Ralph Arlelt kun and me!! This girl here is Roselle Rachel, her family has a long distant relation to the euro society too but she didn’t receive her serment yet. I wanna have a party for her at Red mermaid and have some blue wine to drink on the way!!!”.

Maria was clearly trying to anger Marco with the way she was talking, though she felt like hitting a high wall with his blank reactions to each of her words.

“She’s clearly as childish as a spoiled royalty would be, wow” Yuna spoke as she was taking Marco’s attention from Maria’s words.

He sighed at the end of Maria’s words.

“Huh!! That restaurant has The blue wine!!!?” Ralph was startled.

The three of them looked at him then decided to ignore him.

“I’ll let master Emilis know about it” Marco responded to Maria’s order.

“Why’re you ignoring me!!?” Ralph interrupted them the moment he got pissed off and blocked the way for Marco.

“If she said that she wanna taste it, means that we have it. Are you dumb?” Marco sighed.

“Are you picking a fight with me!?!” Ralph exasperated as he was getting close to Marco.

“Probably not. I don’t wanna explain to Alex sensei and the other teachers how you ended up breaking a leg. So let it go now!” Rachel stood between them.

At that moment Marco noticed that Rachel has merely enough reserves for euro particles to have a serment on her own. That was clearly the reason why Maria had asked for the blue wine, and that was also the reason for Marco to change his way of seeing Maria and the other two too.

“Oy. You….?”.

Marco got interrupted by Maria before he could finish his question.

“Marco kun. It’s almost time for school to end. Can you help me with taking over some boxes to the other room?” Maria asked nicely.

She seemed to be concerned about her friend to a whole different level from what Marco was expecting her to do. Somehow that small worried look that Maria had given Marco for an instance was by pure chance the trigger for Marco’s attention to get swayed for help.

After taking some boxes, Marco didn’t concern himself that much about what she was thinking. Then Maria started speaking on her own.

“You know, Rachel chan is kinda weak. She doesn’t have a good amount of euro particles to use a serment, so her parents never intended to let her have one until she’s eighteen. It’s tomorrow so they contacted Eyezar san and things But they’re scared. We may be some punks in the looks of your eyes but we kinda also have our pride as royalty from the euro society”.

“You’re a good friend.” Marco looked at her as he simply said but these words made her fluster.

“Errm!! Well!! when master Emilis contacted papa yesterday!! and clearly did for the ones who live here!! and knows about the euro society!! He said that he brought the item that produces the blue wine and he’ll start selling it. I was by pure coincidence passing by when he said that, so I thought it was a good thing for her to extend it at least a little bit more!!!” she continued explaining until they reached the other room.

Marco put down the boxes then got closer to Maria and took a good gaze. She flustered more.

“H-Huuh ?! Marco kun, do you need something?” she asked.

“Nah, never mind me. Let’s get back” he replied then went ahead.

“My heart skipped a bit!!!”.

She mumbled before reaching him again. He looked at her again as she looked aside avoiding meeting his gaze. Marco sighed after that and proceeded to walk calmly.

“Marco, did you figure something out?!” Yuna asked as she was with him the whole time.

Marco sighed then waved as no since he didn't want to make Maria feel more flustered than she was. She was giving him some glares from a second to another because he was walking ahead of her.

Yuna grinned awkwardly as she knew that Maria was literally not understanding a thing about Marco’s situation. Maria took a deep breath to fix her posture then realized that they reached the student council room again.

“We are back, thanks Marco kun!! It was quite easy with someone like you here!! you should really go back to school with us!!” Maria wasn’t really in her own self and her words proved that too.

“Is there something wrong, Maria?” Rachel asked.

She saw that Maria was more flustered than usual, Rachel was worried about her friend but the answer for her question didn’t come from the zoning out Maria. It was actually Marco who responded to her words.

“Nothing to worry about, Arlelt can you close the door for a second?” Marco asked from nowhere after answering her.

“Are you ordering me!!?” Ralph didn’t like that.

“Sorry, I’ll close it!! go back to your book!! Ahaha!!!”.

Maria closed the door instead to avoid any other conflicts, she herself calmed down a little bit as she saw Marco closing the window too. Nevertheless it was more of just an act to understand Marco’s doing more than what she’s actually understanding by far.

After closing the window and checking that there was no one around.

“Well, Rachel, come come”.

Marco waved his hand to Rachel with a bit of a calm expression. She didn’t know what he meant, then the three of them saw him smiling for the first time, as if he was giving her some reassuring warmth.

Marco patted her head then let a good amount of euro accumulated around his arm to the point where it started to take a shape the same when he fought against the Palferia or when he healed Carla.

“Here, early happy birthday from my side. Though we don’t know each other that well”.

Marco had given her a fair amount of his euro to the point where he forced her reserves to extend via euro flow control. He decided to do that after seeing that changing the nature of the euro particles to match Rachel’s was the best suited idea so they wouldn’t sell that much of the blue wine to one person, and also because he wanted to test the theory he got when he was training in the palace with Selicia.

Ralph and Maria stood there speechless as they saw Rachel too energetic than usual. The amount that Marco gave her was a little too much which got converted into stamina and muscle strength. That made her look healthier.

“Wha-what did you do!?!!!!” she asked, startling herself.

“Nothing! I just gave you some of my euro!!” Marco switched to his cheerful mama mode while patting Rachel’s head.

“Some of-!!!?” Ralph and Maria were amazed.

Marco sighed then told them to keep it quiet since they’re still in school.

“Marco san, thanks for today!! I really appreciate what you did for me!! Thanks a lot!!” Rachel bowed to him.

Eventually Marco had stayed over at the council student’s room talking with them a little until the end of the schedule.

“No need to thank me. plus as I’m thinking about it, I guess this is the first time in years that I spoke to someone here besides the teachers” Marco pointed bluntly as Rachel looked at Maria then confirmed it “Yeah, never in years. I don’t attend school since I’m busy with work at the restaurant and looking out for my siblings”.

They were talking while walking to the front gates so they can home, Ralph tagged along strangely thus he doesn’t like Marco.

“Speaking of the devil.” Marco suddenly said as they looked ahead.

“Where the hell were you!!!?” Carla was totally mad.

She came in a rush as her eyes were showing a furious aura of her anger.

“I was hanging around the school. It was worth a while….What are you doing?” Marco answered then blocked a punch headed to his face.

“I’m giving you a beating!!”.

She directly said before trying to give him another punch and another kick to the left side. Marco read up the mood and let her punch him though he stopped the kick.

“Stop!! don’t hit him!! he was passing time with us!!” Rachel said ,trying to cover for him.

She was trying to help him by pure thought of him being friends with her and Maria along with Ralph on the count too.

“Hein?!” Carla was completely mad and not giving a thought about what was around Marco.

“A short long story, let’s go home now. I’ll prepare that cake for you, the one you wanted to taste back then in the new city” Marco said as he patted Carla’s shoulder to calm her down.

“It’s not about the cake!!! I took your load of work today!! The cake won’t replace my tiredness!!! Guehee!!” Carla switched to the yawning mode.

“Hai hai. I’ll make that cup of chocolate too so come on let’s go back” Marco sighed as he picked her up on his back “anyway, your appointment is done. See you three tomorrow” Marco said his goodbyes then went on his way.

The three of them felt that these scenes were extremely strange for them and totally unexpected. Maria and Rachel giggled a little before also heading home, on the same side Ralph stayed silent the whole time for a different reason.

After that, Marco returned home first to prepare dinner and stuff since Alex and the rest are still staying in.

“You could’ve told me first, if I knew that they know about the euro society then I would’ve guessed. so there’s a reservation for them tomorrow” Carla replied to Marco’ explanation.

“You’re talking like you’re the one who’s new to the euro society order, they said something about being a royalty and stuff” he responded.

“Oh right!! they’re from The fourteen families, and strangely I didn’t sense any of their euro reserves either”.

Carla’s words made Marco surprised for a moment, she answered her question after that.

“Maybe it was the effect of the cords after all, the fourteen families have their ways in hiding their traces and they’re wealthy enough to get some personal cords too”.

He looked at her as he was talking while doing the housework.

“Well, today was surely strange. I don’t have any friends at school so the reason I was late was because Alex senpai caught me with her unreasonable promises to the other teachers and I had to help. In replacement Sophie and Arthur would be tutored here at home” he said.

“I don’t totally disagree with you when it comes to my promises, but I’m not that unreasonable, I just made use of you plenty!!” Alex responded as she arrived from work.

“Do I look like a sandbag to you ? ” Marco asked as he served her a cup of coffee.

“Anyway, what did you do earlier!? I sensed your euro at the other bloc of the school” Alex was curious.

“That little girl Rachel was having a small euro reserves so I forced it to extend and become big enough for her to wield a serment”.

As Marco replied Alex and Carla started sighing then both said in exasperation, they were sure annoyed and mad at the same time.

“You and this euro particle controlling is getting out of the line!! We are the senpais here so have some respect!!!”.

They were clearly pissed off.

“I see, both of you are jealous. Anyway, for tomorrow we have an appointment in the restaurant so let’s work plenty” Marco said then Alex asked him again.

“Who made the reservation?”.

“Maria Sfiel I guess?” he replied.

Alex looked surprised, the same goes for Carla then both sighed again.

“They’re the only one out of fourteen royals that don’t hate red mermaid and live here because they know how strong Master Emilis is, so I guess it won’t be that harsh on us” Alex responded calmly.

“I don’t really know what you mean but in my opinion. Work is work, and no slacking off. Aside from that, speaking about promises earlier. You remember what I asked you to do right?”.

Marco smiled in a scary manner while gazing at Alex who smiled a scared smile too.

“O-Of course!! how I’d forget!!” she trembled for a second “Fine!!! man!! this mama gaze thing you have is something!! so don’t use it a lot!!” she said after losing to Marco’s acting.

He sighed then took a seat in the living room after finishing his side of work.

“It’s because you always stick with only weird promises with weird people that we got into this situation” he was mocking her.

“Hey. More words about my side of promises and I’ll beat the shit out of you” Alex responded.

“I’d like to see you trying” Marco blurted the words out with confidence.

As they were arguing at the house, they suddenly heard the door getting open.

“We are back!!” Sophie said as she entered with the rest of the red mermaid members.

“Marco , can we take a bath ? ” Xavier said as he was the first with Sophie to enter.

“Yeah, also. What are you doing here, both of you?” Marco stopped Emilis and Hana from entering.

“Ahaha, what are you saying, I’ve come to hang around!!!” Hana said her usual argument.

“I’m your master so of course I would come and take a look at how my children are doing!!?!” Emilis was in a state of boredom.

“My house is already full, go back” he scolded them.

Emilis and Hana looked at each other then started acting their childish way with the puppy eyes thing. Marco gave them the disgusted face as he looked aside after.

“It means we are staying!!!” Hana was completely teasing Marco.

“I didn’t say anything!” he yelled.

“Yeah!! I’ll sleep with Sophie chan!!” She ran towards the living room.

Marco sighed then let her go right after looking at Emilis doing his smug face.

“She’s ok but you gotta return to your house master, I don’t have any place left for a man in his thirties” Marco was as strict as ever.

“yeah yeah” Emilis replied then heard Alice shouting.

“Sophie! Let’s play with Marco’s hair a little!!”.

Marco didn’t say a thing and let them do what they wanted, Emilis looked at him then tried to understand what’s going on.

“Oh right!! master!! a girl from the school had made a reservation for tomorrow, for a birthday party” Carla said while preparing something in the kitchen.

“A reservation for a birthday?” Emilis was curious though he might already know what she meant.

“Yup , it’s for a girl called Roselle Rachel. It’s her eighteenth birthday. Her friend Maria Sfiel, asked me to tell you that she’s gonna make a reservation at our restaurant” Marco explained.

“Reserve what? a table or the whole restaurant?” Emilis asked suddenly.

Marco looked at him, with a total blank face.

“I forgot to ask about that,” he responded.

“Then it’s a good thing. we are going outside!!” Emilis replied.

Marco sighed as he was about to move then Sophie slapped his head saying that he can’t move now. Emilis had to laugh at that small scene that just happened.
