27th chapter : the world that longs to you – 2 –

“Sigh, I didn’t think that you let them do whatever they want with you” Emilis said as he was walking with Marco outside.

“Not quite exactly, I don’t turn down anything from Sophie. that’s why” Marco answered.

“Well, that’s quite efficient. To let them do this to you is kinda a new thing to me!! pfft!!!!” Emilis giggled.

“Shut up already, you know that I don’t have the time to look at what they’re doing!” Marco tied his hair to the back again after walking a little bit with the twin tails that Sophie did for him.

“Mind telling me where are we going?” Marco asked.

“Well, I’m confirming the reservation for tomorrow. And since it was his child to make that reservation, I guess her father needs to know too” Emilis answered his question while looking around “and here we are!!”.

After reaching Sfiel's house, Emilis told Marco to knock on the door and so he did but he asked after that about time.

“Ah! I forgot it was around 9pm. Man he’s gonna be mad,” Emilis replied as he looked at his watch “Who the hell can come at this hour !! and at night!!! hein!! Tch!!! Emilis!!” Maria’s father said as he opened the door.

As he sighed, Marco looked at Emilis who smiled awkwardly.

“You’re the worst master, anyway sorry to disturb you at this hour but can I have a moment with your daughter?” Marco said as he was in charge of speaking since Emilis wasn’t really amiable.

“Who are you!!?” her father was totally mad.

“Ahaha!!! well look here Phillip san!! your daughter came and reserved the restaurant for tomorrow. She didn’t specify whether it was a one table reservation or the whole restaurant reservation” Emilis spoke instead.

In the end Phillip looked at him then sighed again.

“I asked the kid, plus I know that Emilis, I was going to call earlier but I forgot. Enter so we can talk inside” he seemed to be calmed down.

A few moments later,

“Maria!! Come here for a second!!” Phillip called for his daughter.

“What is it, Father, Hueee!!!?!?” she flustered as soon as she saw Marco and Emilis sitting in the living room.

Emilis waved to her with a smile.

“Can you please tell me, what did you reserve again?!” he had a scary smile.

Both Marco and Emilis looked at her thinking that she totally did hide things from him.

“Ahaha!! sorry I totally forgot to tell you !! The truth is Rachel chan is going to turn eighteen tomorrow and she really wants that party!! and so I wanted her to have a small party. I forgot to tell you!” Maria tried to run away from the punishment.

Her father saw Marco really calm, watching with no comments and he didn’t want to embarrass himself as a father so he replied.

“Ok, But sweetie we can’t afford to rent the restaurant for the whole day”.

Marco looked at Emilis then replied instead.

“Well, it’s ok I guess. Master won’t mind not getting paid for one reservation”.

“huh!?”.

Emilis snapped out of it as it was also Maria and Phillip’s same reaction.

“Wait, stop!!! Who decided that!!!?” Emilis turned to Marco who ignored him and continued speaking.

“We can serve you the blue wine at the party too”.

After hearing him, Phillip had no choice but to accept and he even called Ralph and Rachel’s parents to speak with them at the moment. After that huge acceptance, Emilis had no choice too but to accept.

“Mind explaining what you just did?!” Emilis was irritated.

“Sorry but she seemed to be troubled so I wanted to help at least once” Marco replied.

“Heeh!? That’s rare, coming from you to help people you consider strangers, especially when it comes to the euro reserves. I’ve sensed what you did earlier” Emilis calmed down for a reason.

“I thought I’ve hidden that well, are you mad about it?” he asked.

“Not quite exactly. Where did you learn that?” Emilis was curious since Marco hadn’t even released a second release.

“I told you, didn’t I? I trained under the old man Alba sensei, he taught me a lot of things among these” Marco answered as he was waiting for Emilis to get mad again.

“I see. well that’s good to hear, still don’t ever try to think of doing it again. If it’s not for the guild members no need to do it for strangers, understood” Emilis was serious.

Seeing that seriousness, Marco sighed then apologized to him.

“I’m sorry. I guess it was rushed to think about it, despite that I’m not regretting it”.

They reached the house after a small, calm walk.

“speaking about it. It’s not that I’m mad. It’s good actually but look at the other members too. Cause they can’t do it, you and your brother are really a special case including your little sister, so I’d rather have you on check until I find some excuse to the council. Well, not like I really care about what they say”.

Emilis had given him the reasons and so as Marco did give him his reasons, the two looked at each other then sighed.

“I guess, they’ll easily get the hang of it when we start training, they have far more experience than me” Marco replied as he opened the door.

“I don’t hate that idea, tell them to take a rest. We’re gonna open at 11am tomorrow, have a good night from my side” Emilis said as he went back.

Marco exhaled then entered the house.

“I’m back”.

He mumbled as he noticed that almost everyone was sleeping.

“Welcome back” Alice met with him in the kitchen.

“You’re still awake, Master said we’re gonna open at 11 so you can rest as much as you can in the morning” Marco said as he took a bottle of milk from the fridge.

“What about you, aren’t you going to sleep?” he asked.

Alice looked at him as she was trying to fix her posture fidgetly.

“not feeling like I’m gonna sleep any soon. What are you going to do now?” She asked in return.

“Maybe reading some books or going for a walk on the beach, I don’t feel sleepy either,” he responded.

She sighed then patted the seat next to her. He saw her patting it as she told him to take a seat too.

“Wanna speak or something?”.

He kept asking as the mood was too silent.

“Well, I wanna play some games but they’re using the living room!!” she sighed.

“Is that so!?” He was drinking while looking at her.

“By the way, can you teach me that trick?” she was flusteredly talking with her face all red.

“Ohoo, that’s new” Marco was surprised.

“Hey!! don’t tease me like that!! plus keep your voice quiet!! They can wake up at any time” she whispered while holding her blushing face.

“Hai hai, let’s talk about it when the time comes for it, now go to sleep” Marco went to his room.

“Wait!! But!!! Guehee!! That’s not fair!!!!” She was completely desperate.

The next morning,

“M-Marco!!!!!”.

Xavier started yelling the very first thing in the morning.

“Guys!! He’s dead!! Marco is dead!!” He rushed to the kitchen.

“Hmm, quite yawning around he’ll wake up sooner or later” Carla replied to him.

“Is this the same scenario as Alex’s or what? Stop yelling senpai, good morning” Marco appeared behind him fully covered in blood.

Xavier was petrified in fear.

“Are you a zombie!!!” he screamed.

“I’m going to take a bath”.

With no energy to argue with Xavier Marco turned around heading to his bathroom. Again, he also made Zack frightened to see that amount of blood. After the bath, he sat down at the table to eat breakfast with everyone.

“Can you explain what happened again?” Alex asked.

“I got beaten so badly by Yuna nee,” Marco answered.

“Huh!?!” they all looked at him with a confused look.

“Never mind that please, I’m already tired because of that. We got some work so let’s finish it real quick”.

He pleaded as they looked at him with their question mark pulled out on their face.

After eating breakfast and putting the bed sheets under the sunlight, they went to the restaurant to prepare the food and the place so they could hold the party. Arthur and Sophie tagged along.

“Marco nii!! I wanna help too!!” Sophie was getting bored seeing them work with nothing to do.

“Hmm. I don’t know! Let’s see! Can you help putting the cream puff on the cake!!?” he smiled, answering her suggestion.

“hai!!!” She was overjoyed.

“Is this where I need to put it?!” Arthur was also helping by hanging decorations and stuff on the wall.

“Ok!! all is left to see who’s coming…and?” Alice said as she was pulling aside the other tables as she saw Shoko entering the restaurant.

“What’s up!! I came to bring these bottles!!” she said putting the blue wine bottles aside before taking them to the kitchen.

“Seems like Emilis’ kids can do a good job”.

An old man said as he entered after Shoko. Everyone looked at him as his entrance made quite the impact on the atmosphere.

“What are you looking at?!! Hurry up and bring me a chair to sit on!! Coming here was the will of my granddaughter!!” the household of the Roselle family came.

“Oya!! the household of the Roselle family, Adelt Roselle!! Welcome to my humble restaurant!!” Emilis said as he went downstairs to greet him.

“Father please don’t be that annoying. They’re holding this for my Rachel cutie!! so don’t be that harsh!!” his girl came after.

“As serious as ever, Rin! the vice master of the Night Owls , or maybe not that serious though” Alice said, then mumbled the last words as she served him some water to drink it.

“Seeing you work as a waitress is a pleasure to the eyes. I wonder what the others would say when they see you!! Punpunpun!!” Rin tried to tease her.

Alice and the others instantly thought that it was like father like daughter as they saw the same pattern of reactions.

“Sorry for the waiting!!! Here’s an orange Juice for the mister!!” Sophie said as she came out from the kitchen taking that glass to Adelt.

“Huh?” Rin was confused as everyone looked at Sophie.

The most shocking silence was coming from Adelt who kept calm for more than a second.

“Oya!! My cute little girl here has brought me orange juice!!” Adelt was no longer the same Adelt.

“Don’t worry, as much as he looks strict. Adelt Roselle loves the children” Emilis whispered to Marco who was about to go and pick her.

“Have fun!!!” Sophie replied with a cheerful smile.

Rin sighed as she was ashamed of her father’s awkward reaction.

It took the rest of the guests around two hours to arrive. The party was going smoothly as it was time for Adelt to make his announcement for his grandchild.

“Ladies and gentlemen!! I hereby announce the start of the election for my little granddaughter Rachel. She's always being pushy and never tends to give up on what she wants. In other words, she is a joy to our family, though I dunno why my son never leaves her at my mansion” Adelt was making some jokes.

“Father!!” Rin and Rachel’s father complained at the same time.

“Am I not allowed to give jokes or what!!!? Now Rachel, go ahead and start to choose your serment. I believe that you can do it the way you are now” Adelt was showing the face of a proud Grandpa to Rachel.

“Hai grandpa!!” she replied showing how determined she was.

She took a deep breath then stood in front of a few serments that weren’t selected by anyone yet.

“Now my kid, let me see what you can do?” Eyezar said as he released his serment to check on her states “Oh my ?! ” he was surprised.

“Is there something wrong?!” Rachel asked.

“No, I’m surprised. You can go ahead and choose” Eyezar replied.

Rachel looked aside to see Maria and Ralph waving to her. She smiled then proceeded to take her serment. As soon as she looked at the serments it was already picked.

“Rachel now is a fully fledged navigator!! good work!!” Alex said as she broke the silence.

Everyone looked at her then saw Rachel releasing her serment to a small watch that made a small tab emerge from the screen.

Adelt looked at his granddaughter satisfied then smiled at her.

“Well!! since the hard part has finished. let’s drink a toast to the new Navigator in the Roselle family!!” Emilis said as he took their attention.

Everyone raised their cups as they drank it after. The joy on the face of Rachel was clearly a blessing for her grandfather and her aunt Rin. At that moment, she turned to her two best friends with a big cheerful smile as she hugged them tightly.

“You know, thank you really!! Really!! really from the bottom of my heart, both of you!!!”.

Her words were that of a proud friend, having this kind of people around wasn’t easy in any time you live in.

Seeing how she spoke in a joyful manner, Alice and the rest of the red mermaid members giggled a little bit then tapped on their cups on the tables.

“Well!!! Since we don’t have that much time!!! Let’s enjoy the rest of the day!!” Shoko and Alice spoke while smiling their fullest too.

On the other side Eyezar was clearly smiling at Marco who was sitting a little bit away from the others with Sophie giving her to eat.

“Aren’t you a little bit early for you to use a tetration witchcraft on her?” Eyezar asked as he approached Marco.

“I clearly don’t know what you’re talking about and if you speak about anything to her father or the rest I’ll clearly kill your ass off” Marco instantly replied right after making Sophie go to Carla’s lap.

Eyezar looked at him as he sighed in the face of those words

“Calm down, I’m just impressed. You’re truly a Deca!! Just next time, try to put more effort into shaping the reserves before distorting them. You added a good amount to the point where she could even release a second release with a bit of effort” Eyezar drank his cup of blue wine while talking to Marco who found it weird for a moment.

“I did the shape in that order for a purpose and since when can a navigator release a second release?” Marco responded with a curious expression.

Eyezar clearly had laughed his way out of the talk leaving Marco with a blank reaction and an awkward smile from him meaning that the talk was just a compliment instead of a scolding though he might not keep it a secret next time.

Marco on the other side heard Yuna’s words instead. She said that the old man has lived long enough to see a lot of things to the point where his words might not be just a whim.
