Chapter 14 Testing ideas

Chapter 14 Testing ideas

I got a call from the bird familiar today. I've received a few calls of my mother, talking to the bird before she gave up. She was frustrated it was her talking the whole time and 1 sided… I wonder if I can make familiars that can talk…Anyways, the conversation sounded slightly weird. My mother and father both were in the call this time. Both of them said that they loved me and they were proud of me... They hoped I would do great things when I grew up.

They must be congratulating me on becoming a second year student. It was also on my birthday too, so that might have also been why they called. I also thought it was weird that my familiar disappeared. I could tell by the mana reserved he was taking up had disappeared. I didn't give it much thought, my father might have accidentally killed it or my mother might have gotten mad and killed it.

With my 2 free weeks of no school I decided to practice some things and buy new equipment. The gear I got here in was already too small. Since I've been wearing the schools robes I haven't really needed another set yet. Now would be a good time to replace my old set and upgrade to a newer one, one I can wear for a least another few months.

I went into town to buy a new set and also sell my previous set. The end result was me actually making money but the set of gear sold compared to bought was vastly superior. The supple leather and folded steel pieces of metal of my old set were now rough leather, I'll have to add in the iron protection parts later to cover my more important areas. That being said I'll eventually need another set of gear in a year anyways. So it's not that big of a deal.

The new set is slightly big but I'm able to grow into it. I unsummon my other 2 familiars. They don't level up so it's fine and enchant the gear with my strongest max mana enchants. I  bought 2 practice swords to try a few things out on. 1 metal and 1 wooden. A metal tube and a few dozen pieces of enchanting paper. Its cheaper here than in the other city, so I can agree to buying more for now. I really need to learn how the paper is made so I can make it myself.

The enchants on my gear are stronger than my other enchants. Mainly because my mana increased. I technically used more mana since the reduction skill I got ended up reducing the mana I used. Since I used all of it, it added even more. 10% haste on my last pair of boots and 15% on this pair. Quite a big upgrade.

I took some of the enchanting paper I previously had bought and enchanted some of my magic onto it. With some full mana control hastes, flares, freezes, control natures and heals, I feel more prepared. They're in a pouch on my right leg. With the bolts still being on my right side, I figured upgrading the crossbow bolts might be a big help later. So I'll slowly change the weak enchanted bolts with full mana control enchanted bolts. Any extra kick could be the difference between winning a fight or running, perhaps even dying in a fight.

The bolts I was using have been replaced to the new ones. You can't remove or replace enchants on gear or weapons. After that I re-summoned a single familiar this time thinking protection in my thoughts. I summoned a little knight. Which was about the 30% bigger than my black mage familiar. The next stage of testing begins tomorrow. I go to bed that night, some of the bullies came into my room and trashed it...

Leaf was trying to clean it up before I had gotten back... This is too far, I don't care if they make fun of me, pick on me... My room had many valuable things inside it. My anger has been pushed to the boiling point, why? Why did they decide to pick on me. I might not be strong but to just openly pick on me with no one stopping this...

That night I wait until everything has calmed down. Most people are probably sleeping. I know the group of people who did this... I sneak into there room as they sleep. Shaving off their eyebrows is the only thing I decide to do... When I entered... I wasn't sure how far I would go... As more time passed, the feelings that I wanted to kill them started disappearing. Finally stopping on this punishment. If they do something else... I wont hold back anymore, magic wont stop them from being stabbed to death.

Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

The next day I skipped out on training again to practice some new theories out. While channeling nature control into the wooden sword I could make it move to my will if only briefly. I could make the sword almost come to life! Setting it across the room I practice making it crawl to me. I also practiced hardening it. To the point where it was as strong as the metal training sword.

I'm going to try using the metal tube and wind powers to make a weapon. I bought a few dozen enchanted paper yesterday that I still haven't used. I enchant some wind magic on a few. Blowing the wind through the tube regularly made the wind strong enough to blow a rock out of it. It wasn't as good as I expected, it probably wasn't fast enough to deal any real damage. It's good to know for later though.

While healing magic is truly amazing. Being able to reverse mistakes and can potentially save lives. Healing magic cant heal everything. If you lose an arm or leg or something similar healing magic can't heal it. Also depending on how much a bone is broken it might be untreatable or heal incorrectly. At least low level magic anyways, high level white magic might be different.

The last test I want to try today is improving my gear with tinkerer. I start messing with the metal and leather I bought for my gear and pouches. Tinkering with my gear I reinforce all my vital area's with extra thickness but not to the point where it would hinder movements. I expanded my bags slightly too, you never know when you'll need extra space.

I also try enchanting the wooden sword with control nature which was a huge success. Not only could I feel it was even harder then before. I could more easily control it and the size distortion from the tiny sword in my hands to the much bigger sword using control nature was incredibly different.

The next step I infuse the sword with control nature and the effect is increased again. To the point where I can make a sword that's so big I can't even hold it up. Also the hardness is to the point it could probably stop any sword or cutting attack enemies did.

Next up with infusing it with flare. It didn't go over so well. The sword ended up catching of fire but that's why I tested it now. Kind of obvious after the fact but my main sword suffered no damage so I thought I'd try it. I went to sleep that night thinking about one last test.

The next morning I woke up and immediately headed outside to the stables. Got my wolf named Sock and started running. I ran laps around that city until it was night and still had enough fatigue to keep going. I think at this point my fatigue wont increase anymore from just running. So I'll start running with weights on tomorrow.

The next day I bought a backpack. Went outside the city and started filling it up with rocks. It was a bit unpleasant on my back. I ran back into town and bought a blanket to line the backpack with. The total weight of the backpack is around 50 pounds. The weight is my limit right now... Carrying this will help me a lot in the future. I'll need to carry supplies during adventures. The more I can carry, the less I will have to leave behind.

I'll start running with it from now on. I decide to make a run through the woods with my new skills. I feel I can take on enemies stronger then slimes now. I would say that my melee ability is on par with a level 1 class that also had a melee subclass...Which isn't great… It's still better than when I started. If I keep practicing, no one will be able to beat me!
