I tried as hard as I could to get Brick to show me elementalist. He just wouldn't for some reason. He wouldn't explain himself either. Eventually, I'll see him practicing though, so I don't think him not showing me is a big deal. I've already started taking a few lessons on the basics of each class I don't have besides shaman. I'll need to self study to unlock that 1 since they don't teach it here.
My schedule for first period is nature mage “Green mage”. Different than druid in the sense that you can control land and tree's with nature shift. Where as druids are able to give out weak but long heals and you can transform into animals.
I've tried shape shifting already as a druid but the only thing I can turn into is a mouse and when I do, my cloths fall off. There is a badge you can buy at a general store that will let you store your cloths while shape shifted. I'd like to get one later on so they don't rip when I can shape shift into bigger animals. First period is pretty easy. I didn't learn nature mage but I know I will eventually from taking the lesson.
Second period is warlock “Purple mage”. Most of the spells a warlock will get are status inflicting debuffs like ignite. Which inflicts the status ailment burn on a target which will slowly whittle their health down, there is also the skill plague. Which inflicts them with a disease that might rot their flesh off if they have any open wounds. From books, I know that warlocks can learn skills like blind but you wont learn them naturally and have to train them some how. Finding a true master of the warlock class might be the only way I can possibly learn more skills for it.
The lesson is just like the other 1 basic of the basic right now. About mana consumption and casting chants. Most chants take around 4 seconds to do. When I get to level 10 as a time mage. It'll shorten them down to around 2 seconds each.
“Oh great lord of Infection, give me the power to curse your healthy enemies with disease, ignite!”
Would be changed down to. “Oh great lord of Inflection, curse your enemies with ignite!”
The benefits for faster casting are obvious, so one of the main class I'm focusing on leveling is time mage.
Third period is illusionist “Orange mage”. Possibly the most useful of all the magic classes if used in the right circumstances. Most thieves will pick this as there secondary class since once leveled high enough it can chant an invisibility spell that is very helpful for hiding. Also it wouldn't help that they'd be yelling out a chant so somewhere in the leveling process, they get silent chanting. The benefits of that skill being far more unpredictable casting. It would also help with misdirection during fights and could conceal the true power I have. Being able to stealthily cast buffs or heals on people, playing it off like I'm either using a scroll or that it came from somewhere else.
Another low level skill they get is a distract skill called throw sound. The fight with Olaf only secured my feeling that I should hide my true powers until absolutely nothing else can be done. At least from my enemies... I see no point in hiding my skills from people I deem close enough to give them to. I head to a fourth class but none are being done at the moment. No one teaches lessons for classes after third period. I was lucky to get a tutor doing illusionist magic after second period. Only a few students are in this lesson.
The last period, I'm taking a mana conservation lesson. Most students are only here for 2 periods but some stay for 2 more optional periods. The amount of people is under half the normal amount. It makes sense if you think about it. The most classes you can have are 2 so that makes up for 2 periods and then there's several optional lessons you can take on mana conservation and mana recovery as well as some lessons that teach jobs.
Out of the 2 lessons, mana conservation to get another skill that reduces mana used for each spell seems like the better option for me. I'd like to take the mana recovery lesson as well but I'll wait until next year.
After the final lessons of the day. All 4 periods only adding up to around 2 hours. I still had plenty of time to study the shaman class in the library. When I walked in, I noticed an automaton doll carrying books from 1 end of the library to the other. I inquire about where I could learn how to make them but apparently there isn't a lesson for that. Only headmaster Milton of the school knows how to make them and he's keeping it a trade secret...
I'll have to figure out a way to learn it since it'll be helpful to me in the future. I end up borrowing 5 books in total from the library. A book teaching the basics of each class. A book on the shaman class. A book on the basics of each job. A book on learning languages of some non human races. And a book on local points of the southern continent, the cover is a map of the region I'm in.
In order to get back to the same region where I was from in my past life. It would take around a year to travel by foot or a few months by sea but it would be very expensive. Thus my first day at school ended.
It's been 6 months since I started attending lessons hear at the school. I've already learned the 4 classes I came here for nearly the first week of school. Brick still will not teach me how to be an elementalist and he's going to be leaving after this year since his class is so unique no one can teach him. I'm starting to get very nervous about him leaving before teaching me. After talking with the headmaster of the school about automaton making, he said he couldn't teach it to me since it's such a rare job.

To have the job in the wrong hands, someone might make an army of dolls to fight and try to conquer the land... Which isn't a bad idea in all honesty. I've made plans to break into the library 1 night and deconstruct it to try and learn how it's made. I've already finished and returned 3 of the books. The ones about classes and jobs were a priority to read and I got a few levels for most of my jobs and classes by reading them.
The book on languages is a very thick book. About as thick as the 3 I've already read put together. I'll probably finish the book with the landmarks on it first before I focus on that book.
I haven't made any new friends... The thing with my class is I am very weak at everything I do. The weakest of each lesson I'm in. People assume I'm not trying or that I am just weak... Weak enough to bully in some instances. Getting pushed around by a few of the people, I started leaving school more and more frequently to avoid fighting anyone.
Leaf and Brick are the only 2 who don't bother or pick on me. I can tell that Brick knows I'm special somehow... If we were going to be roommates for more than a year. I might have told him about my class. He never trains, only keeping to studies for some reason. I think me asking to see him use his skills has freaked him out a little... I need to find a way to convince him to teach me. I'm not above begging eventually, I would rather avoid it but if it comes to that.
Leaf isn't the same person she was getting here. As if a fire has been lit underneath her, she is far more devoted to study than she ever was before. Often staying out in the library reading or absolutely destroying anyone who challenges her to a duel. She is really striving from this academy. She is improving at a speed I wouldn't expect her too, the clumsiness she had shown before only appearing if I'm distracting her. She has brought up the bullies... I didn't want to involve her, I will deal with them eventually. I sometimes catch her staring at me... She must feel sorry for me, sorry I'm so weak I can't defend myself.
My daily routine consists of waking up 2 and a half hours before lessons start and heading for a jog around the outside of the city. I swing passed the stables which is located to the west of the entrance and pick up my petty wolf and 2 familiars and we begin to run with me carrying the familiars on my shoulders.
The cost to stable the 3 is less then a silver a year (without food costs) so it's worth keeping them stabled. Familiars don't eat, so it doesn't increase the price for stabling them.
Around the outside of the city aren't many enemies, only slimes. I told all my pets to not risk taking any damage so when we end up fighting “usually slimes” it's always hit and run tactics. The black mage familiar always stays on my shoulder casting. He makes squeaking noises that amount to around the same time it would take me to chant. Then fires off an extremely weak fireball, even weaker than mine.
Most of the time I don't struggle with slimes anymore but they could still easily 1 shot any of my pets which would be sad. Petty wolf is probably close to evolving into a regular wolf. I can't deal with a single 1 of their deaths this time... I need to get stronger, I need to be able to protect those I care about... Even without any to care for right now, I know I will have people to protect in the future.
I've decided to name my wolf Sock for the 1 white patch of fur he has on his left leg. The whole route around the outside of the city jogging takes roughly 1 hour without fighting. So including fights and returning my pets to the stables I sometimes barely make it to first period.
After lessons, I study the few books I had as well as increase my chi through meditation for an hour. There's some practicing going on outside with people having skirmishes. I frequently watch them and have noticed that even watching fights increases my level, very very slightly though. The sneak skill has come in more handy than I thought it would. Avoiding confrontations I wouldn't be able to avoid without it. I might be able to beat an average caster at the school if I used all of my skills... I wont risk giving away my true power until I absolutely have to though.
As soon as it gets dark, I start using powerful moves because I can draw in mana from the darkness now with the warlock passive skill darkness absorption. With it I can regenerate mana about 3 times as fast, so every 20 minutes I can throw out a full power spell.
I've been putting more effort towards time magic than anything else. Even doing so scout, knight and freelancer level faster passively than me focusing on leveling time mage. As a mage, I can't do anything as well as someone who's main class is that. Even people's subclass are stronger than my magic. I do feel myself getting stronger though and I can now kill slimes in only a few hits. I'm fast enough to dodge most attacks.
During the night I've been practicing my sneak skill which is the merged bandit skill move silently and the thief skill hide. Its very effective, I can get about 3-5 feet from most people before they start to sense me. I haven't been caught doing this yet. With my sneaking skills I feel I'm getting more prepared for the plan…
