It had taken another few hours to explain everything. All the remaining details. When the start each attack, when to retreat, which person is going where, which person is leading which troops. The process takes a while… Not many people had met the old man yet so some of them had questions to ask. Some questions got normal responses… Some didn't… Perhaps bringing a crazy person to the meeting was a bad idea.
I finish that… I have more time then. I thought I would but with Leon here, things are still going to be hard to finish everything I had planned for today. Leon races me to his room in the castle. All of my generals have two rooms. One in the mimic castle one at the fortress. If I gain more bases, they'll get another room/house at the new location as well… Like if we take over the pirate base. Leon is fast but I pride myself on being faster, plus he doesn't have scout, the movement speed class. I beat him back to his room and wait at his door. We go inside and he teaches me champion over the next few hours.
Would you like to learn Champion?
Warning! you will lose other classes by doing so
I accept of course.
Awakened class Champion passive skill gained Champions talent- Retain all the skills you would gain from the component classes, also strengthening them
Classes removed Fighter, Thief, Scout, Berserker, Bard
Class experience added to Champion
Champion level 1 to 75
Level 1 Champion passive skill Champions aura- Increases the dexterity of all allies around you (doesn't stack with dexterity ballad)
Level 10 Champion passive skill Champions strike- Depending on the situation, will automatically use the best move for each situation (opportune strike, assassinate or flurry strikes)
Level 25 Champion passive skill Champions momentum- Increase your damage by your movement speed you are going when you attack
Level 50 Champion passive skill Calm during battle- Block out all unnecessary noises while fighting (helps keep focused and make important noises easier to hear)
...So Leon was able to learn this awakened class with only 2 classes involved… Meaning it will take him three days to teach him the remaining classes involved… What a weird array of classes mixed together. If I would have grouped them together, I would have thought all dexterity based classes. He's gaining far more strength then he had before… It seems the class suits his fighting style though. He already fought as if he was a berserker… Perhaps the person determines the awakened class?… I'm not sure… More testing needs to be done to be sure. I teach him berserker…
I don't understand why bard was added though… It is nothing like the other classes. Perhaps it was added because of the champions aura. Once again it is a confusing choice. Bard doesn't fit with any of the other classes... What purpose would bard being included be?
The majority of my day is eaten up already… I wanted to be further along in the process of being ready by today… I guess this is just necessary in order to be ready. The ships will be setting out tomorrow. In that time, I'll finish what needs to be done on the island. I would like to finish teaching Leon and the ninjas before we reach the enemies base.
I still need to make more contract scrolls. I'll start them tonight, with my enchanting station, I should be able to start 8 contract scrolls at once. Speeding up the process with regrowth and then using ink I produced to finish them.
Still, I need to completely explore the island, some very strong pets could be found on it. Perhaps I will send Gobber in my stead to find them as I give him a break by watching his children. I want to experiment with the mana crystals Darkclaw found. Speaking of which.
I still need to talk to him about the fact that Greed is inside him. It's very clear that is what he is going to tell me. He knew exactly where a ship is with mana crystals and quotes Greed while saying that… I'm actually happy to know Greed is still alive.
I go talk to Darkclaw… He's… Hard to find to say the least. Constantly in different locations keeping himself busy. Even more so now that he has Greed giving him directions. I want to find him today but if he is running around it will be far more difficult… Perhaps, it would be best to come see him during nighttime, when I know he will be in my room.
It is night time already. It will be another hour or two before it is time to sleep… I could go check on my food. That is what I do. Heading to the outside area, I notice a fight has broken out near the exit of the fortress cave. It is between 1 elementalist against 8 of the demon tribe. Being outnumbered I jump between the group.
I face the demon tribe who have clearl-. I get punched in the back of the head. Turning around I see Green… I should have checked first, she is probably the one who started this fight. I start asking questions.
“What happened here? Why were you fighting?”
“We were talking about your speech and this chick just started throwing punches at us.”
“That isn't what I heard. You were talking about the elementalists, how we're the weakest group.”
“I-I didn't say that. I said it was the smallest group. You only number a few, you wont be very useful on the battlefield.”
I have to restrain Green. She is ready to kill this idiot. I have to stop it.
“Are you crazy? These elementalists are the crux of my plan. If things go badly during our first raid. We will have to rely on the elementalists the make fortified walls for protection. I'm not sure if you know this but the enemy is most likely going to have mana cannons. The ten elementalists are going to save hundreds of lives and might be the reason we win the war.”
I can feel Green behind me. Almost fuming but what I've said has calmed her down… Enough to not try and kill these few demon tribe member. I have to nip this in the bud now.
“Listen, I get it, you're tribes fought against each other. Settle this now, because your lives will be in each others hands once the battle starts. If you can't trust the elementalist to make a wall to hide behind. Or you can't trust the demon tribe to keep you from being overwhelmed by the enemy numbers, you might as well not even fight.”
Green understands the situation. She begins to speak.
“Fine… I get it… I still want these idiots to see how strong we elementalists are. I challenge all of you to a duel. Kite can watch it, I challenge all of you so it is fair.”
The leader of the group speaks next.
“How is 8 against 1 fair? Pick 1 of us, we'll more than happily fight against you.”
I have to bud in…
“If it was Epieoth, he could fight evenly with her… You will need at least 5 to fight against her and stand a chance. If you want to win, I would take her up on her offer at 8 against 1.”
“Fine… It doesn't feel right teaming up against a girl though.”
Green only smiles. A smile that has blood lust in it. I have to warn her again.
Stolen story; please report.
“Green… Don't kill anyone please.”
“Hehehehe… I wont. They'll wish I did though.”
We head outside, after Green suggesting they form a circle around her. They agreed to have the 8 facing her from the same direction… This is going to get messy, no weapons but Green doesn't need weapons to be deadly.
It begins, each rushing forwards, towards her. None of that, 1 at a time bullshit. She picks up a rock from the ground and smacks one in the gut. Knocking him down with a single hit. The rock hit him so hard it broke on impact, thankfully she didn't aim for his head or she could have killed him. After they pass, I run over to him and cast a quick heal on him. Just in case he had any internal injuries, I cast renew on him as well.
Already down to 5 against 1. In the process of healing this person she had already knocked two more out… It is an awful sight to see. One of their bones pokes through his arm, the other had been knocked unconscious as well. They finally backed off and started to circle around her. If they had done that from the start they could have won… Each rush her when they think she wont be able to attack them. Each is proven wrong by a swift punch or kick. Some barely touching, other attacks sending them flying… Green is a very aggressive fighter… I decide then to try to teach her true elementalist.
The fight ended with Green standing over the bruised beaten demon tribe. I hope that calmed Green down some. I have to ask her while I'm healing the injured.
“Green… I unlocked the true elementalist class recently… Do you want to try and learn it… I'm not sure if you will be able to though. So don't get upset.”
She is breathing heavily, I am still making sure each person is okay. Throwing them a heal and renew to make sure they don't die. One of their arms was broken badly in the attack. I hope he passed out before the pain had gotten to be too great… She answers me.
“Isn't that an oxymoron. Wouldn't that make every other elementalist a false elementalist then?”
“I guess… This class is the awakened version giving you a far bigger range of spells.”
“...I guess I can try to learn… Why did you come to me instead of Brick?”
“Well… I have a theory that learning is also determined by motivation. Brick's motivation isn't to get stronger, it is to honor his ancestors… I have a feeling that someone who is trying to avenge their people would have a better chance at learning than him.”
“Sure… Can you teach me after fighting… I've actually never seen you fight before and want to see if you are even worth following...”
“Sure. Do you want to have an elemental battle instead? To see how much stronger you could be if you were a true elementalist?”
“Yea… That doesn't sound so bad. If I know what the class looks like, I might be able to learn it easier.”
We move the unconscious bodies out of the training circle… This battlefield is about to become a scarred mess by elemental attacks… Green's main focus was water… So I should try to avoid using that as she could turn it against me. I start the fight by conjuring a tornado. It takes a few minutes to be big enough to be a threat to a single person though. Even longer against a group of opponents. Green is already rushing towards me. Closing the distance to attack with a jet stream most likely.
She slows down… Almost coming to a stop once she sees my tornado. Almost looking at it as if it was a work of art. A few seconds pass before she remembers we're in the middle of a fight. Launching a water attack. I levitate myself. Floating above the water she just attacked me with, kicking off of the water is enough to keep me in the air. Staying focused on the tornado. It is now about the size of a person, not big enough to do anything still. She moves her attack over and destroys the tornado… This attack is almost useless unless I have time and help to prepare it.
I begin to make the ground far less safe to walk on Covering it with quagmires and spike traps. I would have liked to use an ice slick instead of a quagmire, but that would involve an ice breath attack. I almost float over the traps, kicking off the mud is enough to keep me floating for a few feet as we meet in the middle of a quagmire. Her legs are sunk down in the mud up to her knees. I prepare my leg and fling an air blade towards her. She blocks but it was still very shocking for her. It came out too quick for most people to block. She isn't most people. I've picked my generals for a reason. Picking her because of her keen instincts for fighting. She yells out.
"You're going to fucking pay for that. I'm going to bury you up to your head in this mud pit for getting my fucking pants dirty."
She uses elementalist to make a rock push her out of the quagmire. Making more foot holds to use as stepping stones to make it to me. We start to engage in a melee fight. She takes a very loose karate stance before coming into range. Against the 8 demon tribe, she didn't even bother. I guess she views me as more of a threat then them. I still have the advantage of terrain, almost floating over the quagmire. It takes a lot of focus to keep myself up with control blood and levitate. I should have taken my weights off before starting this fight.
She makes a wild kick at me. What an obv- kicking mud into my face. SHIT! I jump up into the air but she catches my foot. I quagmired the entire area. She slams me down, but the blow is cushioned by the mud. She jumps into the air. Even being weighted down with mud. With no real foot hold to kick off, she jumped 3 feet above me. I wind wall right above me. Pushing her and myself up, I punch her in her back 10 times before grabbing her and hardening the ground. I deactivate my levitate and wind wall. If I was going for a kill I would have turned the ground into a spike trap. I give myself a downwards direction wind. Pulling my body down with control blood I slam her into the ground. The impact is so heavy that even with the ground solid again she is sunk 2 inches inside the ground. 10% health left… Will she su-.
“I surrender… You're just too strong to fight against. You also fight like no one I've ever seen before… I doubt I can beat you… Even so… EVEN SO, I'M PISSED THAT I LOST!”
She had barely landed an attack against me. Even with the surprise attack against me, I barely had any difficulty beating her… These awakened classes are beyond strong. I hope she can learn it… It might not be the best idea to if she can't control her anger against allies… I'll take that risk, she will save more lives than she will take, even if she kills a few of our own men.
“Alright, so I'm going to try and teach you now. Remember to try and learn it, think of something to motivate yourself… Like fighting against the north… The men who had taken advantage of your tribe. Think of revenge against them.”
She has both her fists clenched. She is visibly shaking with her thoughts… She still only has 2 of the 5 component classes… Even with all this preparation she might not be able to learn this class… I start teaching her. 2 hours pass with nothing… I'm going to teach another hour then give up…
“Alright, so I'm going to go over each component class for you to learn it more. Perhaps if you understand the basics of each one it will help you learn the true elementalist easier. True elementalist is the combination of 5 classes. Elementalist, nature mage, aqua mage, fire mage and wind mage. You have elementalist and aqua mage so those two don't need explained… Brick has nature mage, you've fought him enough to understand that class. Fire mage would be next.”
I go over fire mage. It takes around 30 minutes before she says.
“I learned fire mage. Now what?”
“Wait… Did you break through to your 4th class?”
“Yea. A bunch of us did when we were inside the tree. I thought you knew that and were trying to teach me a rare class instead of this basic one.”
“… SHIT! Well… Now that you have fire mage, it might be easier to learn true elementalist.”
I go over wind mage next. Then try explaining true elementalist again… It is now late to the point where everyone else is most likely sleeping. It is getting late… I'm about to give up when she finally learns it… I think she learned it at least. I pass out from teaching her.
