I've instructed them on what to do with the adamantine for now. I also bring the weapon tips I pulled out of the weapons, which were mithril. I hope to get all of them shaped back into plates, adding gold to the recipe doesn't increase the amount of metal covered when they are combined. If I have 200 mithril plates and 200 adamantine plates I would end up with 400 dragonslayer plates. Even if I used 1000 gold pieces in the recipe it wouldn't increase the number of plates. Only how easy they are to enchant.
While instructing what to do with the ore, I keep getting weird looks… Now that I think back, I've been getting weird looks all day. There is still too much to do today, I'll go find Trice next and see which class she would like to learn… Maybe I should go to Zergnar first, his new pet might have a class I don't have yet.
I head to Zergnar next… If that is my line of thought, maybe learning from Bugger would be smarter to do next. As he might also have a new class for me to learn. I'll have to talk to him again, sooner rather than later.
I enter Zergnar's room. Three naked lizard women come walking out, putting some loose fitted clothing on. I get passing glances as they head to where I assume is the hot springs. I call out.
“Hey… You decent in here?”
“Yea…”
He comes walking out of his room, he looks drained of life. He continues to talk.
“My wives are insatiable. I missed having sex yesterday, so they wanted to double up today.”
“You might want to lose a few of them if it's causing you that much trouble. So you have a pet you want me to teach?”
“Yea, she ran off once my wives attacked me. I told her to be back in an hour and to not cause any trouble. We can look for her if you want… I doubt she's in anyone's room so the cafeteria or outside is most likely where she is.”
We head towards the cafeteria and ask the cooks if a girl with cat ears had passed through.
“Yea. She ate 10 fish then ran outside… I thought only you and the troll could pack away that much food.”
“Alright thanks.”
We head towards the exit, which was the direction Zergnar's wives were heading and we pass them. They must have been walking very slowly for us to catch up to them. They didn't say anything, just letting us pass by as we head out of the cave entrance to look for the cat girl. Looking immediately to the left I see her at the stables… Picking a fight with my pets.
“Listen here all of you. I'm the new boss around here, so I expect you to all know my name and follow orders. You can call my Neko-sama or master Neko.”
She points at the stables, one of my pets who was visiting his friends there steps forward, it is Sock.
“That's pretty cute little girl. Where is your master at?”
“L-L-Listen now! I-I-I'm n-not s-scared of you j-just b-because you're really scary looking!”
None of my pets live in the stables anymore. Each as a spot inside my room and we all sleep on the bed together. So Sock being here is very coincidental.
“I'm not trying to be scary. I just want to know who your master is.”
Sock has his hands raised up like he is trying to defuse the situation. He slowly inches closer to her then she screams out as she turns and runs towards us with her eyes closed.
“HELP! Some crazy wolf man is trying to eat me!”
She slams into me. Looking up and opening her eyes. She unintentionally blurts out.
“Pretty.”
Before she looks around and notices Zergnar standing beside me. Yelling at him.
“Master! Help me defeat this evil beast!”
He unintentionally laughs at her foolish response to the situation. Before answering her.
“That is Kite's pet. Kite is the gentleman you just ran into and my master. So Sock technically outranks you… If he wants to, he could gobble you up.”
Claws dig into me a little as I see her tail stiffen. I go along with the joke.
“Sock do you want to eat this poor defenseless little girl?”
She looks up at me, shaking her head then looking back at Sock who is still slowly approaching.
“Master please! Look how scared she is, please tell her you were only teasing.”
“Haha, yes umm was it Neko-sama?”
She looks up at me slightly blushing, still against my chest.
“You can call me Neko… My masters master.”
We head back to my room. I'd rather teach in the comfort of my room than in Zergnar's, where the chance of naked women walking in and distracting me is very high. Neko hasn't gone into the castle mimic yet. Zergnar has a room in the castle as well but chooses to live at the fortress for the ease of living (it is closer to everything).
“Alright so, which class do you currently have, if any?”
“I have yellow mage. I also have the monster skill call undead.”
“Alright, try to teach me yellow mage.”
“It takes… Longer than I would have liked to learn yellow mage. Neko is very bad at explaining things. She would make an awful teacher in that sense but I finally learn it after 2 hours of her getting frustrated by teaching.”
Class learned Yellow mage (bow mage) passive skill Magic shots- attacks with the bow that would normally take energy, can instead take mana
Yellow mage skill Tether arrow-->Electric arrow- Shoot an arrow that will attempt to wrap the opponent in electricity (If arrow strikes ground, electricity will attach to enemies running through it, slowing them)
“Alright… What a weird class… Why don't you have a bow?”
“What do you mean?”
“… The class has another name besides yellow mage, it is called bow mage. Not having a bow already removes 2 skills from your use.”
“Yea but making a bow is hard. All the ones I made weren't any good so I just gave up on getting one.”
… This reminds me of when I first met Gobber. Just that way of thinking makes me slightly irritated… The only thing holding her back from getting stronger is herself.
“So, you have two options to go. You can either go with classes that will support the bow aspect of this class. Or go with mage classes that you can rely on while you fire arrows.”
“Well. I want to become strong enough to fight against Red evenly. Wouldn't classes like warrior and berserker be better for that?”
The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.
“...Not really. If you split your focus too much then you lose strength between each class. As you don't use a bow, you probably can't use a good portion of the yellow mage skills. So if you choose a sword wielding class, you're permanently sealing away those skills to never be useable. Instantly making you're strongest class your weakest class.”
“Aww… Which would you think are best for me then?”
“Well… Are you comfortable with casting spells?”
“Yea. I practiced casting a few times. I probably have 2 hours of practice so you could say I'm a master at casting.”
… I have to hold back a laugh when she says how long she's practiced. I had more hours of practice in my first week of life.
“I would suggest spell classes then since you're so adept at them.”
A smile crosses her face as her tail wags behind her… Which classes should I teach her… She should learn classes that would help her. I immediately think of black mage, gaining mana arrows she might be able to use her yellow mage attacks even without a bow. I would still rather her learn how to fire a bow though. Other classes she would need for that to work are witchdoctor, finally giving her more damage over time with warlock spells.
It takes an hour for her to learn black mage, which is normal learning speed, maybe even slightly faster. She easily learns warlock but witchdoctor slows her down… 2 hours later still no witchdoctor.
“I still don't understand how these classes work for teaching… It seems almost random who can learn which classes. Blue couldn't learn this but Red was able to.”
“Wait, Red could learn this?”
Her frustration from sitting around shifts into a look of determination.
“Keep teaching me, if she could learn it I'll learn it too.”
It takes another 30 minutes but she does eventually learn it… Perhaps learning is also linked with the person learning it. The more they want to learn it the more likely they will. Red wanted to learn it because Blue couldn't. Neko wanted to learn it because Red could learn it. Being her rival, she wanted to learn it as well… That is just a theory right now though.
If I give her a false soul stone she'll unlock another class to use… I'll have to think about that later though because I have to teach her how to fire a bow. After teaching her the classes she is about to run off before I stop her and take her to the training area.
She can't fire any of the superior compound bows when they're set to a draw weight of 50. Lowering it to 40 lets her shoot but it takes a lot of effort for her to fire, reducing her accuracy and slowing the total arrows she can fire by too many… Dropping the draw weight to 30 is what is best for her right now… She practices, I hope for more than 2 hours before she thinks she masters it… That ate up a bigger portion of my day then I wanted it too… I head back to the jail cell.
Both the guards I had watching him have been knocked out. He is trying to pick the lock with a scrap of metal from the belt of one of the gnolls he knocked out. My anger starts to build up. I yell out.
“They only reason you're not dead yet is because you didn't kill any of my men.”
I walk in front of the jail cell and it is like I just caught him with his pants down. I had learned a few things while in the tree I haven't gotten to use. I wanted to practice my new skills so I didn't use a move that would have shut Bugger down instantly during our fight. I use water manipulation to lift him up through his blood. I haven't gotten to try this out yet so this is a good test.
I start forcing the blood inside him up. I could lift him with my hands but it takes a lot out of me to lift him this way… It would have been a lot cooler if I could have done it without much effort. There is just too much mixed with the water for it to be easily lifted. He looks like it is causing him some pain. I move him away from the door, dropping him near the bed. I rub my face, thinking of what to do before talking to him.
“So… I give you this leeway, you only have to wait one day before I would have let you go and you don't respect it… I can destroy you in this room with a single attack if I wished. Even if you got out, you're far below the average of any of my generals… You would have had no way to escape. So… I still want your people on my side… Teach me everything you know then I'll knock you out and release you… If you attempt to return here or hurt any of my men again, I'll burn you alive then take a quick trip to your village and slaughter everyone there. Do we have an understanding?”
He slowly begins to go over his class. After about an hour of him halfheartedly trying to teach me I learn it (Even trying to be a bad teacher, he was still better than Neko).
Class learned Saboteur passive skill Play dumb- Harder for even experienced interrogators to read you, can easily act like a fool if necessary
Saboteur skill Expose weakness- Attempt to find the weak point in a person or object
“Hmm. So that's why even though I can normally tell if people are lying you were harder to read. I'll be right back with a mind control collar, I'll just knock you out until I'm back so you don't get any crazy ideas.”
I pull out another move I was holding back. Wind manipulation, I take all the oxygen out of the room. Because it is in an enclosed area it works better. I see him gasping for breath, finally going limp before falling over unconscious. I don't know the long term effects oxygen deprivation, so I refill his room with air. Opening the cell and injecting him with numbing poison to be thorough. I head to get a slave collar and a few generals.
I reopen the cell, adding the collar around his neck before slapping him away. He wakes up and realizes what is happening. He reaches up for the slave collar before I yell.
“Stop!”
He completely freezes in place. I continue the demands.
“So, lets go over the rules. You are not allowed to lie to me. You are not allowed to injure me or any of my men. You are not allowed to try and take the slave collar off. If you do an intense pain will shoot through you. You are allowed to move again, shake your head if you understand.”
He slowly starts to move again. Nodding his head.
“Okay, let's get started then.”
