Chapter 961:
After a few seconds of silence, Caden looked up impatiently. “Well, what do you say?”noveldrama
Alicia nodded. “Alright.”
Their conversation flowed naturally, marked by a surprising calmness.
Caden felt his heart soften, a mixture of excitement bubbling within him, yet he managed to hold it back. Unable to contain his bubbling joy, he grinned and said, “Say it again.”
Alicia moved closer, her arms encircling his neck. “I said yes,” she whispered, her voice a gentle echo in his ear. “I am willing to marry you, Caden.” Their lips met in a tender kiss.
Alicia’s response was fervent, their heartbeats merging, momentarily shattering the peace.
In the depths of their emotions, Alicia brushed away the tears she felt on his face. Her own eyes brimmed with tears as she reassured him, “Don’t be sad. I’m not going anywhere again.”
Caden quickly said, “I’m not sad, just overwhelmed with joy.”
His sharp features, usually so striking, now softened by emotion, did nothing to diminish his strong presence, which seemed to enfold Alicia completely.
Alicia couldn’t suppress a laugh. Caden was not one to admit defeat, no matter the circumstance. Still, her love for him remained unchanged.
She held his face gently. “Aren’t you curious about the surprise I’ve prepared?”
After cleaning off the traces of their intimate encounters, Caden showed no signs of expecting a surprise. “What is it?” he asked, his interest seemingly muted.
Alicia sensed his exhaustion. With a playful gesture, she slid her leg against his waist. “There’s a gift box in the suitcase by the door. Inside is white silk a client gave me. Should I wear it for you now?”
Caden met her teasing gaze. “Still daring to tease me?” He chuckled. “Do you want to end up staying in the hospital for a couple of days?”
Alicia responded lightly, “It seems you’re the one who’s worn out. Have I exhausted you?”
No man enjoyed being challenged on his stamina.
Caden let her go and walked over to retrieve the gift box. Alicia turned to watch him, propping her chin up with her hand.
The suitcase indeed contained a beautifully wrapped gift box.
Caden opened it, expecting the promised silk, but instead, he found a document. He reached for the document, and his breath hitched unexpectedly. His frame tensed for a moment before he turned to Alicia. “When did you go through with the in vitro fertilization?”
Alicia’s smile was tight, her eyes catching the sunlight, making them sparkle with a dazzling charm. “After I returned from Xada.”
Caden had long ago preserved his sperm and granted Alicia full access to his laboratory. Additionally, managing the fertility treatment project had always been their responsibility. Thus, Alicia had all she needed to surprise him on her own.
