Chapter 596

Shane watched as Yvonne opened the door. She wrapped her arms around the man's neck and stood on her tiptoes to kiss him.

It felt like a punch to Shane's gut. Didn't Yvonne have feelings for him? Why was she so cozy with someone else? Was he just a fool, hanging around for no reason?

Panic flooded him as he turned and bolted for the elevator, hitting the button for the ground floor. The man noticed the noise and glanced at Shane's retreating figure. "Do you know him?" Yvonne shook her head. "No, I don't."

The man chuckled, "Guess he got off on the wrong floor. I've missed you, Yvonne."

Without a word, Yvonne yanked him inside and slammed the door shut behind them.

Shane stumbled out of the apartment complex, only to realize his face was cold. He was crying. Thenoveldrama

Winslows had turned their backs on him, and his so-called friends weren't any better.

He'd thought that someone in the world still cared about him. But now, the one woman he'd trusted to love him was all over another guy.

The pain in his chest was unbearable. Without thinking, he hopped into a taxi, heading straight to Sasha's place.

Once there, he dialed her number. "Come out for a minute."

Sasha was surprised by his late-night call but still went downstairs.

"You just left a little while ago. Why are you back so soon?" she asked.

Hadn't he been all excited earlier, talking about seeing Yvonne? What was with the tears on his face now? Sasha pushed down her little flicker of satisfaction and put on a concerned face. "Why are you crying? Did something go wrong?"

"Yvonne doesn't love me at all!" Shane sobbed, his voice breaking. "When I got there, she was in another man's arms..."

Sasha couldn't help but feel a rush of satisfaction seeing the pain on his face. It was as if her revenge had finally come to fruition.

But she quickly masked it, keeping her face unreadable as she indignantly asked, "How could Yvonne do that to you?"

Shane continued sobbing. "I'm never giving her a chance again!"

"Right!" Sasha stepped closer and gently patted his shoulder. "If you want to make Yvonne regret this, there's a way."

Shane looked at her, his eyes brimming with tears.

Sasha had once wished for Yvonne and Shane to suffer together, bound by their "love." But now that Yvonne had moved on with someone else, Shane's misery only deepened while Yvonne seemed to be living her best life.

Sasha wasn't about to let the person who had wronged her escape unscathed. "Think about it," Sasha continued. "What kind of man do you think Yvonne would go for?" Shane shook his head. "I don't know."

Sasha almost rolled her eyes. How could he not know something soz simple? No wonder Yvonne didn't care about him. She held her tongue, though, unwilling to say it aloud. en

"She definitely likes good-looking guys-"

"Are you saying I'm not good-looking enough?" Shane interrupted.

Sasha glanced at him. He wasn't bad-looking, but it was hard to deny the difference compared to someone like Zane.

She remembered how she'd felt the

first time she saw Zane-he was practically unreal. She had tried and failed to get his attention, but even now, she couldn't deny how striking he was.

Sasha couldn't exactly tell Shane he looked ugly, either. Instead, she said, "You're definitely handsome."
