“I need a damned map!” I yelled out in frustration as the Alpha Direhowl ran through the woods. “Why are we getting further from the tower?! Go back!” I scream out while my mount runs over some poor small green squirrels in its way. I toss a sphere at one of them as my mount turns its large head back towards the direction I think the tower is in.
“Awoo!” The Alpha howls as it runs head first through the thick red leafed trees, some of the trees end up getting too close, which causes a few pieces of wood to break off of them.
“Who needs an ax, when you have a mount…” I mumbled in jest while thinking of a crazy plan to harvest some decent amount of wood later. “I wonder if there’s a mount for mining.” I wondered aloud as the trees opened up into an empty clearing.
[There are Pals with higher Work Suitability than others.] My Paldex chimed out. [Currently, your workforce has no Pals greater than Level 1’s. Please find and capture other Wild Pals to increase your Base’s workforce.] A failure tone was sounded out. [Wild Lifmunk broke free of the Pal Sphere.] My Paldex beeped to inform me.
“I’m already down to half of my spheres… How many Pals did I catch already?” I groaned while looking at the amount of Pal Spheres sitting in my inventory. I worked so hard to gather the necessary materials to make these, and now most are gone.
[Two.] My Paldex beeps out as two small pictures show my only catches of the day so far.
“Why is it so hard?! Sometimes they even bounce off the Pals and shatter like a fragile piece of shit!” I yelled out in frustration at my wasteful habits of throwing the Pal Spheres without triggering the capture effect. “What am I missing… What are you pawing at there?” I asked the Alpha as I just noticed it was patting something on the ground with its humongous paw.
“Woof!” The Alpha Direhowl barked while jumping back enough for me to see the prey it caught. A small stout blue and white penguin with a red droplet on its chest was quivering on the ground with fresh bleeding wounds.
“Good pup! You left it alive!” I praised the big killer pupper I was seated on, before lobbing a sphere at the poor, heavily injured creature. The Pal Sphere glowed with a bright light before a soft ding teleported the sphere away. “Why was that so easy… Wait, all my catches till now have either been total surprise, or catching them when the Pal is near death… It can’t be that simple, right?..” I rub my head in thought as my ride just looks at me before heading off in a random direction.
[Pengullet has been caught, with this, you have gathered the required materials to craft a saddle for Chillet, once you achieve one more power level.] The Paldex chimed out to remind me of my goal for this outing.
“Oh yeah. Is that a flock of Chikipis? Woah!” I yelped as my mount all of a sudden took off at full speed towards the small flock of fluffy looking chickens just minding their own business by the bushes. I hold onto the saddle and brace for the attack.

“Buwak!” A terrified cluck sounds out in pure shock, as the looming figure of an enlarged predator racers their way. They all try to turn to run, but the mighty massive body of the Alpha Direhowl runs them over. One vanishes instantly as death is quick under the crushing weight of the Alpha’s body, the others are thrown to the sides as they are merely deflected off.
With a quick strike of its paw, the Alpha Direhowl digs into the ground while whipping its body around to face the two scattered Chikipis with drool dripping from its maw. The pal which was knocked into the bushes attempts to flee, but it keeps blindly running into the trees. While the other Chikipi recovers from the surprise, its body gathers a glowing white aura for a final stand.
“Brave little one, but too bad it’ll be dinner.” I shake my head at the thought of eating chicken meat in front of Trouble, how would that play out.
“Woof!” My Alpha mount barks out a simple condensed blast which ends the wild pal’s life before their attack could even happen. A few feathers, a small edible egg, and some chicken breast meat appear in its place, before they all magically teleport into my item space.
“When did it get so dark, shit!” I shout out with worry as the sun is almost completely set behind the horizon. “Let’s run for it pupper, we need to find our way back to somewhere we know is close to home!” I pat the side of the panting Alpha as they sprint along the forest pathway, in hopes we are getting closer to the base. “We can get the last level up once we make sure we can find our way back.” I scan the surrounding sky for any sign of the tower.
“Grrr!” My mount came to a sudden halt as they began to growl at something in the trees before us. “Bark!” The Alpha Direhowl’s body seems to be tensed up, as if it is afraid of something.
“What is it, pupper?” I pull out my torch as the sun fades from the sky and the darkness of night fills the air. “Well, at least I can see the tower better now.” I chuckle as I spot the large magical spire glowing with light blue runes and rings orbiting around its tip. The tower was a beacon of light at night, and made finding our way slightly easier, if the wild nocturnal pals left us alone.
“Mehrow!” A loud cat shriek was released from the trees, as a large person sized dark purple cat pal pounced from the top of the tree. Its long arms unfurled a pair of deep rich, royal purple wings with golden patterns. It hovered in the air as three bright wisps of soft purplish light burst into being around the tip of its shifting tail.
“It’s okay, pupper.” I pat the tensed up Alpha who continues to growl at the floating cat as it seems to be showing off its glittering wings. The Alpha vanishes into light as I unsummon it, thankfully the technology behind this also made sure I would be placed safely back on the ground. A different Pal Sphere appears in my right hand before bursting open with a flash of aura. “Hey Chillet, this Pal here wants to help you be able to unlock the saddle tech.” I point at the confused hovering cat-bat pal.
“Guuruu?!” Chillet says as an evil smile takes over its face, the cute ferret vanishes as the dragon makes itself known. “Coo.” Icy vapor expels from Chillet’s body as a deep purple aura starts to build up around its body.
“Mew…” The wild pal flaps its wings a few times to back up and give the ice dragon some room, while it begins to regret pouncing at this trainer.
