Palworld Lore Chapter 037

“Where are the pants?!” I yelled at the Paldex while pointing at the finished armor on the workstation’s table. “It’s just a robe!” I slammed my fist onto the table in frustration, the cloth armor caught my fist, and absorbed all the impact. “What the…” I picked up the robe once more to inspect it. “How can such flimsy cloth…” I stared in bewilderment at the armor.

[Armors also give you a boost to your resistances and vitally.] The Paldex chimed out. [Equip it and you will be able to withstand the basic passive auras of certain Pals] A screen popped up asking me if I wanted to equip the cloth armor.

“Anything is better than this wrapping.” I muttered while unable to remove the only piece of clothing wrapped around my waist. “Yes, equip it.” The armor melted into motes of light before they swarmed over my body. “This feels nicer than I thought.” The feeling of a decently soft wool fabric settled on my skin as the lights faded into the newly equipped cloth armor.

[Try approaching the Chillet now, its passive icy aura should be negated due to your armor.] The Paldex beeped.

“The chill what now?” I looked at the device in confusion.

[The Ice-Dragon Pal you luc- captured.] The Paldex showed an image of a large blue furry body, with cute little stubby legs and an otter-like friendly face.

“That’s adorable… Wait, it’s an ice dragon?” I look from the cute ice dragon picture to my bathing giant meteor throwing chicken. “I caught one of these?” I glossed over the fact that none of the animals in my ‘reliable’ memories matched anything on this island, only a few physical features were shared, but that was stretching it.

“Kaw kaw!” Trouble shouted from the pond and pointed to the rock where the cold napper was.

“Oh, that one.” I glance at my sleeveless armor and sigh. “I hope this magic resistance shit works, I don’t wanna lose anything to frostbite…” I say with a shiver, while patting my bare legs. “Where’d these shorts come from, oh well. Trust the magic clothes from the high tech watch…” I start to approach the side of the pond where the napping Chillet was.

“Coo…oo?” I heard a soft cooing noise as I got closer.

“Where’d the ice and such go?” I blinked at the large rock which should be covered with creeping ice coming from the other side, but there was nothing.

[The Armor is blocking the effects of lower leveled passives and simple weather effects.] The Paldex chimed in. [If it does not affect you, even visually now.]

“So if I take off the clothes I can see the aura icing over the area? What if my natural resistance gets to that level?” I asked the Paldex, hoping to make a plan to survive the night time without armor in case the worst happens.

[Humans are incapable of increasing their natural resistances to the necessary level needed to survive without armor or assistance.] The Paldex beeped.

“Coo?” A soft voice asked from above me.

“I can’t believe I have to rely on my clothes to survive this hell…” I click my tongue while glaring at my Paldex.

The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.

“Coo!” A chipper squeal sounded above my head.

“You too? I hope so.” I sighed as I continued to the rock.

“Cu?” The soft voice tickled my neck.

“Back up some, we can’t spook the napping little blizzard. Nice and easy so we don’t startle them.” I take some deep breaths to calm my nerves. “Here comes the magic clothes…” I take a sharp breath in before walking briskly towards the rock.

“Coo.” The voice backed up but still followed behind me.

“Hello Chill-huh, where is it?!” I rounded the boulder, only to find the spot where it was napping empty.

“Kaw!” Trouble yelled from behind me.

“Coo?” The voice behind me answered.

“What?” I turned around and my whole vision went blue.

“Coo!” I was wrapped up in the body of a big furry and fluffy blue ice dragon, called a Chillet. It was coiled around me like a snake, with its otter head staring at me with large icy blue eyes. “Cu?” It tilted its head to one side.

“Hello?” I nervously said from within its grasp.

“Cooo!” It shrilled out before its body started to twist and move. I was thrown up into the air before being caught in a tight bear hug and swung around like a doll a little girl just found to play with.

“Kawkaka!” Trouble nearly died of drowning by laughing so hard in the pond he almost fainted in the water.

“Can’t breathe!” I struggled to say from within the soft furry hug of suffocation.

“Cu? Coo!” Chillet blinked before holding me out and shouting with worry.

“Put me do-” I tried to say, but was whisked away under its stubby but strong front paw.

“Kukawkawka!” Trouble had managed to crawl onto the shore before holding his sides while laughing in pain.

“Coo!” Chillet rushed me through the camp before thrusting me down on the bed, which groaned but didn’t break, just like my bones.

“Ugh…” I moaned as the wind was knocked out of me.

“Cu!” Chillet looked even more worried as it tried to tuck me under the covers, only to tear my blanket.

“It’s okay buddy, calm down.” I managed to get out before it broke out in tears. “Mind getting me some water?” I asked, with a strained face.

“Coo!” It looked happy at the order and ran off.

“Ruu?” The little fire fox asked while sitting by the fire.

“Yep, I’m stuck.” I nod at the little chef. “Care to help me out?” I ask.

“Roo.” It just shook its head and went back to cooking at the magical fire pit.

“Can anyone help me?” I ask with a loud voice, while struggling to remove myself from the blankets which somehow are keeping me tied down in bed.

[Foxspark, this Pal is made entirely out of uncontrollable flames from the moment of its birth. Most die young due to choking on their own flames before they are able to control them, which is a leading cause of forest fires in certain parts of the worlds.] The Paldex beeps from inside the blanket.

“Not that kind of help!” I yelled out in frustration. “But it was helpful.” I mumbled.
