Palworld Lore Chapter 026

“So you are just a Chikipi, but have a Lucky trait…” I read the screen aloud in confusion while my Pal ate some berries off a bush. “So you are a Lucky Pal, and are called a Chikipi.” I snapped my fingers after it finally clicked for me.

“Bwa?” It turned to look at me with a questioning look.

“Hold on, I can’t just randomly name you without knowing what you are.” I hummed as I skimmed the rest of the details that made little to no sense to me. “Male, stronger than average, with a special attack.” I looked at the giant ball of soft feathers that looked at me cutely. “Why didn’t you use that attack against the mob?” I asked my Chikipi.

“Bwak.” It closed its eyes with its head bowed for a moment. “Bwa bwak.” It rose up and replied to me.

“Hmm, some sort of cool down then… You sure it wasn’t a one off?” I asked the Pal.

“Bwak.” It gave me a pity looking stare.

“How am I supposed to know that?”I fire back at the giant Chikipi.

“Bwak, Bwa bwa bwak!” It waved its feathers wildly at me.

“I only learned about this moments ago!” I pointed at it while arguing my point.

“Bwak! Bwak bwa bwark…” The Chikipi cries to the sky before sitting down upset.

“Oh yeah? You’re nothing but-” My eyes popped open wider mid sentence. “That’s it!” I yelled out with a smile on my face and a wicked gleam in my eyes. I opened up the Paldex and started to press some holo buttons.

“Bwak?” My Chikipi gets up and hops over curiously. “Bwak!?” It started to glow with some hazy multicolored energy before it faded away.

“I just figured out your name.” I close the Paldex and stand in front of my Pal. I pat it on the head. “Nice to meet you, Trouble.” I smirk down at the frowning Chikipi.

“Bwak…” He replied.

“What?” I shrugged. “Trouble always seems to follow me around, and now that you will always follow me around…” I pointed at his large purple eye. “Now you my good sir.” I grab him on both sides of his feathery soft body. “Will bring trouble to our enemies, hence your name, Trouble.” I let him go and booped his beak causing Trouble to blink some.

“Bwak.” Trouble nodded in acceptance. “Bwa?” It held up a wing and showed me his side had a nasty looking red glowing cut on it.

“Is that blood? Or just a wound?” I look at my new Pal with concern. “How can I heal ya buddy?” I asked him, hoping a giant chicken would have all the answers.

“Bwak?” Trouble gave me the confused tilt.

[Ting!] The Paldex chimed and a small notification appeared above it.

“What’s this?” I held it up to my face and clicked it. “Interesting, let's try it. Hmm…” I close my eyes and think of my Pal returning to me in its sphere. A suction noise makes me open my eyes and witness the swift vanishment of Trouble and appearance of his Sphere hovering in the air before turning into a wisp of light and flying back to my left hand before getting absorbed. “Woah…” I flex my hand and turn it about, trying to see if there's anything wrong with it.

[Ting!] The Paldex chimed for my attention. I opened up the notification and saw the Party Tab, it held my lone Pal, Trouble. He had a bar next to his name that was half full and slowly rising. [Pals will heal quicker when stored or through sleeping.] The Paldex’s soft and pleasing new voice informed me.

“Very good to know, how many can I catch?” I see in the Party Tab there are a few more dark empty slots.

[A Party can hold at most 5 Pals.] The Paldex said while highlighting all the party slots. [Once you catch more than 5, they will be sorted away until further Tech is developed.] With this it opened the Tech menu and I noticed the next level was opened.

“Did I level up, are you not going to inform me of that anymore?” I asked the Paldex, but it ignored my question. I just sighed and looked at the Tech Tab. “Why do I have so many tech points available, and even some tech costs multiple points?” I looked at it worriedly.

[The Old System was a parasite that was feeding off the excess power you were unknowingly feeding it, so the Admins fixed the issue and now your System is fully operational.] The Paldex kindly explained. [I recommend you unlock as much as you can to build a base soon in a safer location. Here are the gifts the Admins issued you, good luck Pawn.] The Paldex voice faded away with the multicolored glow. Now the band was a semi transparent Paldium blue color with dim glowing lines running through it.

“Base, I can make a base?” I shake my wrist. “ Hey, tell me more! What gifts?” I tap my Paldex but get no response to my questions. “What do you mean a safer loca…-” I shut up and my eyes went wide as a larger hill opened its eye at me in displeasure.

I back away slowly as the eye turns away from my direction and the hill with legs continues its silent walk up the pathway. “Was that a Lucky Mammorest?” I asked my Paldex in a whisper.

[Ting!] It softly chimed while producing a page for my reading pleasure.

“Alpha Pals. Are the Leaders of their respective fellow Pals, and are more effective in team combat. The Alphas are larger in size with increased offensive and defensive capabilities. Alphas in the wild are extremely territorial and will attack a threat on sight.” I read aloud as I cowarded behind a tree, trying to calm my nerves. “I remember that first one I saw, and I thought that was big.” I peek out around the tree to see the Mammorest had stopped to eat a few trees and massive boulders.

“I have a weird thought of wanting to build a treehouse on those trees.” I chuckled as I thought of building a treehouse among the trees on the back of the Alpha Mammorest . “A mobile treehome.” I covered my mouth to stifle my snickering in case it heard me.

“MUUROWR!” The Alpha Mammorest called out before kneeling down with a thud. All the Pals in the area had vacated long ago. Then it flopped on its side before closing its eyes to sleep.

“Alright, maybe the mobile treehouse isn’t the best idea.” I grimace as my imaginary treehouse on the back of the beast crashed against the ground just like some of the trees on its back did. Suddenly a rush of Pals headed towards the back of the sleeping Alpha. “No way.” I said in disbelief, the trees on its back were all fruit trees. The Pals were either tall enough to eat from them at their new angle, or the smaller ones picked from the fallen fruits. “I need some more spheres.” I chuckled while watching the massive variety of Pals snack on the free meal.
