“Found it! Let’s go!” A loud shout followed by yelling woke me from a pleasant sleep.
“Seriously, can’t they wait till noon?...” I moaned as I flung off the cozy covers. “We have a group of idiots inbound, look alive people!” I clapped my hands loudly as the Pals sleeping behind my little open faced hut started to wake up. “Good thing we restocked before bed.” I equip my weapon since I slept in the armor.
“Finally, a fight!” A black masked thug yelled from the top of a small hill while brandishing his club filled with nails. Two others joined him as they all summoned a trio of dark bipedal lizards with leather hoodies on. They all let out a guttural roar as they charged my defenseless base.
“Might be more troublesome than I expected.” I took a single step back as my pals grouped up around me. Trouble was behind me with the little chef next to him. There were a few others I hadn’t learned the names of yet, since I got them during my sleep deprived state. “Charge!” I let an arrow fly as the thugs get closer.
“Ha!” The one in the lead twists to the side to avoid the arrow with ease. The pal behind him takes it to the chest, but it only staggers it while pissing it off.
“Shit!” I yell as I dove to the side to avoid a fireball from the angry pal. Before it can launch another one, it gets struck by a fireball from my Foxspark. “Cook them little chef!” I holler while shooting an arrow at the thugs trying to club my pals.
“You trai- ugh!” The thug missed his over handed swing at me, only to receive an arrow in his side.
“Freeze!” I yell while tossing a glowing sphere behind the recovering thug.
“Your arrows don’t scare me!” He shouts before pulling out a syringe and injecting himself with it.
“Wasn’t talking to you.” I reply while firing another arrow at him while trying to retreat from his melee range.
“Wha-” The thug started to glow a red hue as three large icy projectiles slammed into his back.
“Coo!” Chillet cries out as he prepares for his next attack, while the thug is engulfed within a block of ice.
“Do it.” I turned to fire an arrow at a different target that was harassing Trouble.
“Guu!” Chillet yelled out as their blue furry form rocketed forwards with enhanced speed and strength. The glowing purple aura absorbed all of Chillet’s momentum before transferring it directly into the block of ice, shattering it into oblivion. A Pal Sphere popped into existence before falling to the ground as loot.
“Burn them Trouble!” I shouted while ducking under a swing from a thug. I dropped my bow to pull out my own club. “Eat this!” I try to hit them, but they block my swing.

“Ha!” They kick me in the gut, which sends me rolling away. “Think you can beat me?!” The thug kicks away my fallen club.
“No, but I did distract you long enough.” I hold my stomach as I point to his side.
“Wha!..” The thug jerks the club up defensively. “There’s noth-” They turn back to face me, only for a group of large purple meteors to come crashing down onto him from the other way.
“Oops, meant the other way, my bad.” I chuckle while wincing as I stand up. “That hurt more than expected.” I gently rubbed my sore midsection before a blast struck me in the back. “GAH!” I was flung forwards while my back burned as if I was set on a hot skittle. My breathing was stuck as air had trouble entering my lungs.
“Bukaw!” Trouble screeched out in anger.
“Coo!” Chillet roared in rage. A chorus of other calls blended together as I managed to flip onto my stomach and watch the beat down unfold.
“Glad they are on my side.” I weakly wheezed out while watching the last remaining enemies die. One of the last two pals had blasted me with an attack in the back before being ganged upon by my horde of Pals. Attacks of all kinds rained down on the body of the enemy until it vanished in a burst of light. The angry mob turned their sight on the remaining enemy which tried to flee, but only turned into loot in the end.
“Kaw?” Trouble bent down to pat my head with his wing.
“I’m fine, just sore.” I tried to get up, but decided it was best to wait a bit longer. “What’s that sound?” I ask as I hear a rumbling sound behind me.
“Kaw!” Trouble jumps over me while glowing orange.
“Guruu!” Chillet comes running over, somehow he looks adorable in a fierce way with a mob of smaller pals following his lead.
“What is it now?” I strain myself to turn and see a pair of large black and white wolves growling at us. “Wait, aren’t those usable as mounts?” My eyes light up remembering how that girl looked so badass riding on the large wolf. “I want one.” My inner thoughts slowly leaking out.
“Ruu…Gu!” Chillet paused at my words, before glancing at the new intruders, his gaze hardened before a denser glow engulfed his charging body. With a kick of his short legs fueled by the magical energy, Chillet flew forwards at tremendous speed.
“Kaw…” Trouble sweated while gathering the magical aura for his attack. The two enemies were both set and waiting for him to launch before counterattacking. “Kaw?” Trouble lost all his aura once a purple and blue blur crashed into the enemies.
“Ru!” Chillet burst out with the remaining purple aura left, which sent the wolf pals tumbling into each other. Before they even recovered, his signature ice attack smashed into the bodies of the pals. Unfortunately they weren’t encapsulated in ice, but they still had trouble standing up quick enough to dodge the next strike. “Gu!” Chillet’s body flashed a blindingly bright yellow glow as a bolt of lightning tore down upon the enemies. “Gu!” Another cry summoned a second bolt of lightning, ending one of the enemies. “Gu!” A third bolt fried the survivor.
“Kaw.” Trouble spit out a simple blast of white wind to put the smoldering enemy out of their misery.
“Guys, I wanted to ride one of th-” I shut up when I see Trouble shaking his head no furiously in a panic. “What do yo-” I felt the temperature drop behind me.
“Coo.” Chillet softly said, while dropping some leather rolls before me.
“Saddle for Chillet, coming up! Once I can walk again…” I store the loot away while giving my adorable looking ice dragon a thumbs up. Sometimes it’s hard to remember this cute looking creature could freeze me to death if I ever take off my clothes.
