All my panic and fears reached a peaking point at the size of the towering wolf standing below the room filling willowy tree. Then it all calmly shifted like a switch was flipped and I let out a deep sigh while closing my eyes. I stood taller as I inhaled deeply before releasing the breath and snapping my eyes open. The bow snapped into my left hand as my right pulled the arrow back with a practiced draw. Unaware of how it came to be, a softly faint glow swirled at the tip of my arrow, once it fully condensed with a small flash I let it fly.
“Awoo-!” The Alpha Direhowl turned my way only to receive an arrow in his eye. It screamed out in pain making the others turn to face the invader. They both received their very only arrows to the face, causing them to stumble back and shake their heads in confusion.
“Burn’em.” I commanded Trouble to begin his fire attack, while I calmly walked forwards while releasing more arrows towards the heads of the Direhowls.
The Alpha Direhowl let out a mighty bark backed by a white magical aura, the wave of light destroyed the incoming projectiles. The pals quickly recovered from the ambush and they were pissed. Growling with snarls were hurled my way as the trio’s bodies took on a white glow with hints of gold in their auras.
Knowing something was coming, I stood still and took aim at the Alpha, leaving myself open for the others to attack. They took the bait right away. My bow was unequipped and stored in a flash, my legs propelled me to the left as the first Direhowl pounced past me. It clawed the ground to spin around and face me while I quickly dodged back to the right as the second pal struck.
“Awoo!” The Alpha Direhowl cried out as it sprung forth to finish me off. With the other two covering my escape routes, it had me cornered.
“Smart, for a beast.” I leapt towards the oncoming attack of a glowing wolf who would make a horse look tiny. I hit the floor flat on my stomach as the claws on the pouncing beast are just out of reach as it sails past to land with a loud ground rumbling thud.
“Grr!” The angry Alpha turns to face me with his minions flanking him. They both have a soft brown glow gathering around their mouths.
“Watch out for Trouble.” I tell the trio before sprinting towards the tree on the other side of the room.
“Bukaw!” Trouble shouted in answer as the room was brightened by the arrival of two towering twisters of flames. The attack made its way over the Direhowls and was gaining on my position. I could feel the hot winds licking my sweat drenched back as the heat from the approaching firenadoes evaporated it.
“Shit!” I yelled as I felt the burning sensation of a blistering sunburn start to spread along the backside of my fleeing body. Thankfully the attack ended and vanished from existence, leaving me feeling slightly charred, but safe.
“Awoo!” The Alpha cried out as its large body was burning with flames crawling around its fur. The trio all turned to the tired out Chikipi behind them. I watched them try to unleash attacks on Trouble, only for them to miss as I unsummon him. The Alpha turns to glare at me while its minions look around confused at the missing enemy.

“You good to fight?” I ask a newly summoned Chillet.
“Gruu…” Chillet looked seriously angry, all the cuteness was eaten up by his dragonic nature. Thankfully the shotgun blasts were nicely healed up and scarred over, but I bet with the magical tech of this place, Chillet can make a full recovery.
“We need to take out the smaller ones first.” I equip my bow and release an arrow at the Alpha as it quickly launches a condensed golden bolt from its barking mouth. I jump up and away from Chillet as the bolt just manages to graze my armor while I attempt to dodge it. “Gah!” I screamed in pain as just a graze felt like a hot knife to the gut.
“Guruu!” Chillet becomes enraged as he coils his deep purple glowing body on the ground. As the minions of the Alpha step in front of their boss to join the attack, Chillet springs into action. His light blue body blurs past the two and slams into the Alpha, sending it rolling over itself.
“Grr!” The minions spin around to growl and bite at Chillet in defense of the Alpha.
“Don’t forget about me!” I shout as I nail one of them right below the tail, which gets a jump out of them. “Oops, did that hurt.” I laugh at the Direwhowl running at me with its body gathering aura up for an attack.
“Coo!” Chillet cries out as it blasts the other Direhowl with a purple fireball from his mouth. The enemy whined out as the dying flames on its fur reignited themselves. “Gu.” Chillet gives an icy glare at the Direhowl attacking me, before letting three sharp icicles at its back.
“Behind you!” I called out to Chillet as his ice interrupted the Direhowl’s attack, which scattered the glowing aura stunning the pal for a moment. I shoot an arrow past Chillet’s head, and hit the recovered Alpha in the nose.
“Ghrrr!” The Alpha Direhowl growled as it shook off the measly attack and pounced at Chillet.
“Guu!” Chillet roared as a blast of purple burst forth from him as the epicenter. The blastwave died out after a few meters from Chilllet’s spot, but it managed to push away his attacker.
“Grr-woof?” It looked around in confusion that its opponent had disappeared in the midst of battle.
“Burn it little chef!” I called out after recalling Chillet and letting out Forsparks.
“Coo!” The little firefox glowed a deep red as a ball of fire slowly flew at the enemy.
“Woof!” The Direhowl barked out while glowing a deep earthy brown. A large clump of dirt spewed forth from the ground before smashing apart the fireball and slamming hard into the little Foxsparks. Before I could react, another large clump of soil flew in from the burning Direhowl.
“Awoo!” The Alpha Direhowl howled as it shot out a blast of golden energy which struck the poor little dirt covered firefox. Foxsparks’ body was sent tumbling away as a thin trail of smoke followed behind it.
“Little chef?” I shakenly turned to witness the unmoving smoldering body of the little firefox, before a glass shattering sound from my right hand sounded out. “Wha-” A Pal Sphere was in my grasp, but instead of the glowing blue magical device I’m used to seeing, this is a cracked transparent bobble. “No.” I snap my eyes back to the body, which is crumbling into ash before being blown away.
“Awoo!” The trio howl out in triumph.
