“Ivy! What the hells?!” Woody rushed into the hut where the wrecker was supposed to be kept in.
“Fuck!” Ivy threw her weapon at the thin scrap metal wall in pure frustration, yet it dissolved into light particles before hitting it.
“Ivy! What happened!?” Woody grabbed her shoulder and spun her around to face him.
“That damned wrecker had a Paldex, a working Paldex in his hands!” Ivy shouted at him while pushing his hand away.
“Impossible, where would he have got-” Woody tried to argue with her.
“He found one in this fucking room!” Ivy pushed past him as she stormed out of the room in a huff. “Why was our prisoner locked in the same room as that Tech!” She screamed out in anger while marching into the settlement.
“There was an unattuned piece of Ancient Tech just sitting in there?” Woody ran to catch up to her as he tried to make sense of what happened.
“It was a fuc-” Ivy started to yell again.
“Language.” Tara interrupted her before Ivy began to curse again. Taking a few deep breaths to calm herself, and the thought of Tara’s punishments helped her calm down a bit more.
“Sorry.” Ivy said in a calmer, yet still upset manner. “I caught the wrecker with a functioning Paldex, I tried to shoot it out of his hand, but he started up the device and teleported away.” She got angry again, so she lashed out at a nearby slender tree. One kick with a solid looking blade of glowing aura shot out from her leg, it slices the tree into two vertical pieces before it poof into a pile of scattered logs.
“How did he get a Paldex?” Tara asked while waving at a few loitering survivors to come and collect the wood. “We were with him the whole time.” She looked at Woody who only shook his head as he didn’t know either.
“Who was shooting?! It nearly set off Hoss and the boss just got him to leave.” Swiss yelled as his mount rushed into town. “Ivy!” He glared at her as his mount was unsummoned.
“Wrecker found a Paldex in the Boss’ room, and used it.” Ivy replied while she began to fiddle with some window before her. “So I tried to shoot him, like the boss wanted.” She sneered at Swiss.
“Wait, the Boss had a new Paldex just sitting in the room and somehow the wrecker managed to activate and use it?” Swiss was now looking very confused, he had assumed she shot the guy, but not this.
“It doesn’t make any sense, I know wreckers might have a chance at becoming a Trainer, but without the support of a system or Base to attune to the Tech…” Woody started to mumble to himself after speaking aloud.
“He hit the random start button, just as I pulled the trigger.” Ivy told the group. “Wrecker got away, yet his Tech is damaged, plus I saw his name on the form.” She gave the pack a wicked smile, similar to a predator about to hunt their prey. “He should still be someone on this island.” Ivy said with renewed confidence.

“Unless you actually killed him.” Tara countered her.
“I only shot at the left side of his chest, which is just a non-lethal lung puncture wound. Plus I had to aim through the Paldex since he was weird holding it on that side of his body, don’t know why he wasn’t protecting his heart on the right?” Ivy tapped the left side of her chest where she approximately hit the wrecker.
“You said he hit the random start button, that could mean he’s on any of the starting points?” Swiss waved his hands over the ground as glowing holograms took on the form of a large map of a few islands within close proximity with one another. “The ones we have access to are only these spots.” He pointed at a few larger pieces of land in the southern part of the map.
“I have a few contacts up in the north west side, but I’ll need Troy to join me.” Woody pointed at a large island in the upper left of the map.
“Ivy and I will take the east side.” Tara stood over by the right side of the map, looking over a cluster of smaller islands below a larger rounder bit of land. “We will be skirting the boundaries, so try not to open fire first. We don’t need another turf war right now.”
“What if we don’t find him?” Ivy asked while looking around the glowing map on the ground.
“Then you had better hope you actually killed him before he started the device and what you saw was the island eating his corpse.” Tara glared down at her with intensity.
“What’s the wors-” Woody quickly appeared behind Ivy and clapped his hand over her mouth.
“Do not ever! Say that line!” Woody shouted from behind her, he quickly let her go before she pulled out a weapon to attack him. “What if the next time we actually see that guy, he’s much stronger or has a more powerful Pal than we can handle? You literally shot him, so all the effort we put into charming him is gone. We will be lucky if he doesn’t attack us on site, if we happen to find him.” Woody started to lecture Ivy. “What if that guy finds a more powerful guild and wants to take revenge on us?” He sweeps his hands around at the group.
“We shot him on sight.” Ivy equipped a rifle into her hands. “From a distance?” She pointed to the small scope attached to the rifle.
“Why are you trying to kill him?!” Woody shouts at the murder hungry gun girl.
“Aren’t we supposed to, he just escaped us?!” Ivy unequipped the weapon while arguing back at Woody.
“Is he an enemy?” Swiss asked while putting the holographic map away.
“He was suspicious.” Tara replied before sinking into deep thought.
“Can’t we just knee cap him, and then interrogate him?” Ivy asked the group with a pistol in her hand.
“Who are you shooting here Ivy?” The deep voice of their boss asks from behind her.
“Pawn, sir.” She snaps into a salute the moment she hears his voice, along with the rest of the group.
“Who is, Pawn?” The boss asks while strolling closer with Troy behind him, and following him was a being with such an evil aura, it was nearly physical.
“The brat!” Hoss gritted his teeth in pure demonic rage at the name, before breaking out into an evil maniacal laughter. “I will end him, personally!” Hoss turned around in a swoosh as darkness flowed with his every movement as he walked off into the distance.
“Where is he?” The boss asked the group in a dark tone.
“About that, sir…” Woody instantly regretted speaking up.
