Palworld Lore Chapter 034

“AAAH!!” I pinwheel my arms in a panic as the ground rushes to meet me from further away than I had estimated. “Augh! Waaah!” My backside touched down on the peak of a step sand slope. “How is this possible?!” I screamed while my falling momentum transitioned into a sliding force as I was helpless to slow down.

[Using your-] My Paldex tried to explain to me before I had to kindly interrupt it.

“SHIT!” I screamed as I braced for the impact of landing on the ground. “Huh?!” I yelled in confusion as my view shifted from falling, to staring at the sky as I slid across the sandy beach as if I’m on ice. “I’m okay?!” I shouted in joy until a bump in my way sent me sailing through the air, as if it was a ramp.

“Seriou-” I opened my mouth as my vision flipped upside down and found myself back underwater. My head catching the water forced my body into a cartwheeling spin due to my remaining speed. I eventually end up floating on my back, trying to get my breathing under control again after coughing up some water.

“I really need one of those gliding Pals.” I groaned as I pulled myself out of the knee deep water. “Where…” I glance around at the new shore I find before me, before turning back to see if the enemies followed me. “Holy shit, I can’t believe I survived jumping from that height.” I stare wide eyed at the fifty foot or higher cliff I jumped from. The mound of sand I landed in was finishing up healing the path I carved out of it. “Seems like they started fighting instead.” I noted a few flashes and stray attacks fly over the cliff.

“So did I make it back then?” I turn back and start making my way inland. “Is this a path?” I start to follow a decently traveled pathway, which usually means civilization, or so I hoped. “Woah, was this carved out of the rock?” I started to walk through a small rocky canyon, which held a tranquil bubbling brook trailing to the beach front in the center. I felt the incredibly smooth and unnatural looking rock walls.

“Chi? Chi!” A shrill cry from a large green chipmunk-like squirrel startled me. I drew my bow in fear of an attack, thankfully it was too busy scurrying away to notice I didn’t have an arrow notched.

“What happened to my arrows, I didn’t use them all up… right?” I try scanning through my inventory for my ammo. “Whelp, better to figure it out now, then when I actually need them.” I start scanning the ground as I continue on, picking up rocks and branches while following the path.

“I just need some more stones.” I click my tongue in displeasure while checking my inventory once I reach the end of the rocky canyon. “Wish I could just mine this wall.” I sighed as the pickaxe in my hand was repelled from the wall by an invisible force. I stored it back away as I saw a wooly sheep Pal cry out and run from my oncoming figure. “Don’t I need some wool for a bed or something?” I mumbled to my Paldex, my eyes were getting annoyingly heavy to keep open lately.

[Correct, once you start your Base, you can use your Workbench to create Cloth from types of wool. Which happen to be used in bedding, clothes, certain armors, and more.] The Paldex beeped loudly with many screens popping up.

“Later…” I waved the mass of brightness away from my eyes. “Oh?” I close my eyes and start to sniff at the air. “What is that scent?” I take a few steps towards the delicious smell I picked up. “I don’t know what it is, but it smells like good food.” My stomach rumbles, reminding me I still lack proper food as well as sleep. “Is that a cooking fire?” I blink a few times to make sure my eyes are working. Above the small treeline in front of me, a thick cloud of smoke rose up.

“I wonder who’s cooking what.” I lick my lips as I rush through the trees. Trouble’s sphere flies out of my Paldex as I head towards the delectable scented fire.

“Bwark!” Trouble shouted after me, as he tried to catch up.

“Don’t worry, I’ll share!” I laugh, a bit delirious due to various reasons. “Chef, I’ll take one of-...” I happened upon a tall wall of scrap like metal pieces, following it around to an opening, I stopped as I found out who was cooking, and what. “Oh, excuse me gents.” I step back behind the wall before turning and sprinting the other way around the wall.

“Bwak kaw?” Trouble falls in line behind me as I pass him by.

“Wrong restaurant, we aren’t welcome there, don’t fit the dress code.” I motion to my topless body and shoeless feet as we sprint off away from the confused yelling behind us.

“Kaw Bwak.” Trouble gave me a stern look. “Bwark!” He lectured me.

“Ugh! I know! My bad!” I shout out as bullets start to whiz over our heads. “I just want a nap and a decent meal!” I yelled out as I ran for the base of the tower. “Woah, how’d I get here?” I glanced up briefly at the menacing tall sky scraping and its magically technical wonders orbiting around it. A grenade bounced on the ground by my feet. “Ha!” I shouted and punt the thing away.

“”Get’em!”” A group of thugs shouted as they gave chase. More gun shots went wide over our heads as I just stood there staring at the tower.

“Oh yeah, I need to get that first.” I snapped my fingers as I remembered something vitally important. “Let’s go Trouble!” I sprinted down the steps next to the tower and ran over the edge of the plateau. As we landed a good ten feet on the base level, the sun had begun to set once again. “We need to hurry buddy, I can’t last another night like this.” I muster up the last bits of my energy and rush towards a certain Pal I saw walking away from the clearing.

“Bwak.” Trouble just rolls his large eyes as he follows along. “Bwark?”

“Oh yeah? Well sor~ry, I don’t even remember the last time I slept…” I stopped as the thought struck me. “I don’t remember ever sleeping, does being unconscious count?” I asked Trouble while continuing on.

“Kaw Khawaha!” Trouble bounced around laughing at me.

“As long as I wake up in a nice bed, I wouldn't mind if this was all an unconscious nightmare.” I huff as the trail heads uphill.

“Bwakaw.” Trouble looked at me in a cutesy manner. “Kaw?” It batted its eyes.

“You ain’t a dream, you were my first nightmare!” I laughed out as Trouble blew a raspberry my way.

“Woo?” A soft voice echoed out as we made too much noise. “Wuu.” It let out as it turned to run.

“Bwak?” Trouble turned to look at me.

“Don’t look at me, go get it!” I pointed after the retreating fluffball.
