Palworld Lore Chapter 038

“I was stupid lucky when I caught this fella, huh?” I stared with my eyes wide open in shock as the Chillet glowed that purple hue before rocketing at the poor little Chikipi, ending its life.

“Guu!” Chillet cried as it’s large sleek body stood tall before three large ice javelins shot out and skewered a little green squirrel before it was encased in a block of ice. “Coo?” Chillet turned to look at me with pride, the block of ice shattered into a thousand pieces along with the pal.

“Great job!” I put two thumbs up and a big smile on my face, this ferret looking ice dragon is lethal and adorable.

“Cuu coo!” Chillet cried before running ahead of me to clear my path of wild pals.

“Are you sure it won’t try to attack me?!” I brought the Paldex up to my face and harshly whispered at it. “I seriously don’t want to be flash frozen.” I glanced back at the spot where the island absorbed the iced pal shards.

[The Pal Sphere links the pal’s budding soul to a stronger one to help them grow. It is a symbiotic relationship, and the spheres ensure absolute loyalty.] The Paldex chimed quietly as a small screen with many spheres were shown. [Higher level Pal Sphere can help increase the Capture Rate of stronger pals, but you must be able to subdue their soul within.] It closed out the screen.

“So I’d die?” I say while picking up the drops from the warpath of my Chillet.

[Worse, you would be CLASSIFIED.] The Paldex changed voices on that reply.

“Worse than death, you mean stuck somewhere else in this hell?” I shout out and throw up my hands chuckling at what could be worse than death.

[You are currently located in the most weather stable beginner friendly area.] The Paldex beeped at me.

“Slow down Chillet! I can’t keep up that fast… Small legs, but damn is it fast.” I huffed while sitting below a tree to take a short rest.

“Coo?” It bounced back and stood before me, before leaning down and looking me over. “Cu!” It booped me on my head with its nose before bouncing around the tree with a smile on its face.

“Wish I could just ride you around, would save so much time with all your energy.” I chuckle as Chillet starts to roll around in some berry bushes.

[If you wish to use Chillet as a Mount, you must first construct the proper workstation.] The Paldex chimed out.

“I can! I thought you could only ride that huge wolf.” I blink in amazement as I look at the screen with a long list of blanks except one, Chillet. “This is the list of all mounts?” I asked the Paldex after closing it.

[Currently, yes, which also includes swimmers and flyers.] The Paldex beeped.

“I can fly… Nope, stay focused!” I shake my head at all the crazy thoughts about to flood my mind. “What do I need to make Chillet my mount?” I asked while scratching the top of Chillet’s head.

“Cooo…” It purred while laying next to me, it seemed to get tired of bouncing around. A screen popped up with a list of items required to make the saddle for Chillet.

“Where do I get leather from, and I need how many of those blue rocks… Ugh, this is gonna take a bit.” I sighed after closing the screen. “What do I even have on me?” I decided to check my inventory, since I had been picking up quite a few things. “I’m half way there on the pal rocks, but how did I get 2 pieces of leather already… Wait, does a pal drop leather?” I pull up my Paldex to ask it.

[Leather is acquired from drops, harvesting, or butchering pals.] The Paldex beeped.

“Define butchering pals.” I asked with nervousness.

[Using certain Tech, you can butcher a captured pal for its resources, which has a higher yield than if they were dropped upon death from a wild pal.] The Paldex beeped. [Harvesting uses a higher Base Tech to reap the most resources from captured pals.]

“Fuck that.” I throw my left hand to the ground in anger, before taking a deep breath.

“Coo?” Chillet’s sad large eyes seemed to be watering up.

“No buddy, not you.” I hug Chillet’s soft furry face. “I could never butcher my own.” I boop its nose before standing up and stretching my limbs out.

“Cu.” Chillet tried to copy me and stretch and twist its body around.

“Alright, let’s go hunt us down some materials so I can ride you around!” I shout while pumping my first in the air, trying to hype myself up.

“Coo!” Chillet cried out while wiggling its whole body.

“You said it!” I pull out my bow and start to jog up a well worn out trail up a sloping incline. The trees started to become more scarce and the air started to smell a tad sweetly. “What is that sme- woah…” I was caught speechless for a moment as I saw the colors of the grass and trees shift into a wondrous hue full of reds and oranges of fall. “Maples?” I shake myself out of the shock of seeing a whole different season right over the ridge.

“Cu?” Chillet looked at me with worry. “Cooruu.” Chillet tried to pat my head with its forearm while standing on its hind legs next to me, unfortunately for me, it doesn’t know its own strength.

“Ah!” I cried out after its paw clobbered me on the head. “Sto-” Another smack ontop of my head while I was trying to speak caused me to bite my tongue. “Fu-!” The last attempted pat sent me face first onto the ground. “uuuuh….” I weakly moaned from the sudden pain.

“Curu?! Coo!?” Chillet cried out with large teary eyes filled with worry. “Cooruu?” It gently nudged me with its nose.

“We’ll work on that, ow…” I struggled to get up, my head was ringing. “Now I feel bad for those you tackled, kind of.” I chuckled while leaning against a rock.
