“I never want to see another one of those beasts again.” I complain while dragging my feet along the beach under the scorching hot sun. “So tired… Trouble, carry me.” I whine as I summon my giant chicken for comfort.
“Bwak.” He side steps my falling body.
“Traitor…” I groan, pulling my sand covered body up. “Why can’t you carry my tired ass?” I complained to my bouncing energetic Pal, who was enjoying the beach walk around the giant Mammoresrt of death.
[Only certain Pals are capable of carrying a Trainer, once you reach the required power and Tech, along with the Pal.] My Paldex chimed up to show me a locked info screen with many options unavailable to me at the moment.
“I think I could use one of those… How tall is that?” I stop and tilt my head back until I’m about to tilt backwards looking up to the peak of a slender pillar of a mountain.
“Bwa… Kah?” Trouble joined me before tilting his head at the smoke trail slowly getting thinner.
“We need to find the source before it goes out, otherwise I doubt we could locate whatever that is.” I look at our two choices of pathways, one is to the right and seems to be the easiest and quickest to our destination. The one to the left is rocky and heads towards the steep cliff sides of the slender pillar mountain, it is steeper and seems more treacherous. “To the right it is.” I hop onto some large boulders to cross over the streams separating the islands.
“Bwark!” Trouble shouted at me with worry.
“What?!” I shout back as I crest a large boulder, a clicking sound causing me to slowly turn around. “Oh, company…” I keep my hands up for them to see. “Hello there, fine weather today.” I say with an attempt at a smile.
“Grab him!” One of the white with green trimmed robed men shouted while pointing at me. “He knows.” He said the last part while looking at their campfire, which had a skillet sizzling with some heavenly scented steaks cooking. All the robed people looked at the food as one, before snapping their eyes back at me. Crossbows materialized in their hands, some had elements jumping from the weapons.
“I seriously don’t care if you’re vegans on a cheat day, just keep that sparky bow back.” I tried to step back, but had to fall on my back as they all readied their bows and let loose a volley of bolts with some fire and lightning trailing a few shots. “Trouble, help!” I shouted while sprinting back towards the beach.
“Bwark!” Trouble readied his strongest attack while looking magically majestic glowing in the air. “Kaw!” He cried out releasing the meteors at the attacks as they climbed the boulder to give chase.
“Take that!” I shout as I turn around upon reaching Trouble’s side. I pull out my bow to shoot an arrow as a follow up. “You fools… oh shi-” My confidence is shattered like the supposed strong attack from my Pal. The robed person tosses a large moth like Pal to the side, before they start to glow. The moment Trouble’s attack begins to land, the robed individual punches the rocks with a glowing aura surrounding his body. “Run!” I recall Trouble as I sprint for dear life down the harder path.

“Weak piece of shit, stop wasting our time and die!” The one who destroyed our best attack yelled as the group just laughed and jogged after me. “Why make this more difficult for yourself?” He laughed as they slowed their pace when they saw me struggling to run away.
“Shouldn’t we finish him off sir? We are in Syndicate territory now.” One of the robed members spoke out.
“We don’t have to worry about those corrupted possessed fools.” The leader of the pack insulted their rivals while sticking his nose up. “Besides look, our prey can’t even swim right. Mother Nature will deal with him for us, brothers and sisters, let us return to our holy ritual.” The leader pointed to me as I struggled to swim through deeper than expected water. My wide splashing and gurgling was well heard.
“FU-gulglg!” I splash my arms hard, as if I’m failing to stay afloat, taking a large breath before I go underwater, I let out a few air bubbles before holding still. A few seconds goes by and I see them leaving, I slowly put my nose and mouth above the surface to breathe a bit, before slowly lifting my head out of the water.
“What if he survives?” One of the retreating members joked while laughing it off as another gave him a hard look. “Dumb question, weak trainers can’t survive out here.” They chuckled before disappearing out of sight.
“I’ll steal your steak dinners one of these days… bastards.” I spit out the salty taste of the ocean while standing to my full height. “Fooled them, but this won’t always work.” I sighed as I finished crossing to the steep cliffside shore through the waist deep waters. “Now how should I do this…” I squinted at the impossibly tall mountain of a rock pillar, with a tiny wisp of smoke rising from the opposite side of it. I reach the steep sandy hill leading up to the base of the cliffs.
“Why does this boulder have a different color and patterns?” I notice a large dark oval-ish rock tucked away in the shady hidden outcrop while looking for a decent way up the cliff wall. “It’s so smooth.” The surface of it feels like warm granite.
[Obtain Wild Pal Egg?] My Paldex shone brightly with many colors once my hand made contact with the rock or egg.
“This is a what now?” I pull my hand back from the not rock and stare at the humongous egg before me. “Is it a lucky egg? The thing is as big as Trouble!” I scratch my head in wonderment at the sheer size a Pal would need to be to lay such a thing. “Wait, what kind of Pal is this egg? Are the parents nearby?” I pull out my bow and frantically look around to avoid an ambush.
[A singular egg left alone like this, means either the nest was cleared by enemies and only this one survived by being overlooked. Or the parents abandoned this egg and moved on.] My Paldex answered me with a low beep. [It is recommended to obtain all Wild Pal eggs and hatch them using Tech. Please unlock the Tech to learn more.] A screen with a lock symbol flashed briefly.
“Can I even carry this thing?” I touch the egg as it gets whisked magically away into my storage. “Why do I even ask anymore…” I sighed as I began the long difficult climb up.
[Chikipi is capable of laying edible eggs once certain Tech is unlocked.] My Paldex triggers my stomach to growl.
