“BHAWARK!!” A draconic clucking roar echoed out as the meteors took out the cliff. The last flaming magical rock smashed into the spot I previously was.
“AAAH” I screamed as I jumped and rolled down the sloping hill as fast as I could. I slipped on the landing and began to slide faster to my delight. “HA!” I yelled as I turned around to see the Lucky Chikipi had fired a second shot before it lost the glowing dragon form. “Not good!” I said while turning back around and leaning into the slide, the small Pals in my way jumped in freight while scattering.
“Bwack!” The Lucky Chikipi cried out from the now reformed clifftop. It started to waddle its massive body towards the path downhill. I get up from my slide and run to my left, towards the stream.
“I should have made that bow first…” I huffed in complaint while jumping over a decently wide creek. “Water looks clear, ugh I’m thirs-'' I pant while staring at the clear stream I just cleared, when an attack of a flying white mass of glowing air flies my way.
“Bwack!” The attack yells behind me as I take off toward the rocky ledges ahead. It was hot on my tall.
“This bloody chicken-” I huffed while hastily scaling the tall scaly rocky walls of the ledges.
[Chikipi] The Paldex on my wrist glowed while climbing.
“It's nothing but trouble-” I began to yell at my Paldex before diving to the side due to another air attack. I glanced over the ledges I had managed to climb up and saw the fluffy doom chicken bouncing back the way we came. “Where’s it going?” I turned back to scramble up the last few walls. “Is it going around…” I hide behind a tree trying to watch my enemy.
“Bwak?” The Lucky Chikipi stopped halfway back up the trail, it looked around before tilting its head in confusion. Its eyes lose their fighting spirit and go back to being blank. “Bwak.” It started to walk back to the spot where I had tried to capture it.
“Huh?” I said in shock. “What is happening?” I started to run up the nice open area I had climbed up to. I was now on the other side of the water from the grazing enemy. “Did it lose interest, no matter, I will beat this enemy.” I say with determination. I spotted my work bench beneath a tree and next to a waterfall.
“Maybe a quick drink first, and some weapons wouldn’t hurt…” I gulped drily while side eyeing the peacefully unaware Lucky Chikipi. As I walked into the grassy area to get to the falls, I happened to kick a Pal Sphere on the ground. “Seriously…” I sighed with one raised eyebrow. “I didn’t have to make these?” I saw as I picked up the pristine looking Pal Sphere, the sunlight hit it just right making it blind me some, so I shifted it slightly out of my eyes.
“Bwa!?” A cry of surprise from the Lucky Chikipi behind me caught my attention. I had turned to see it blinking its overly large eyes in pain while its short wings were trying their best to reach the source of its discomfort.
“Sorry…” I whispered while throwing the newly found sphere at it. “Uh…” I blink as the sphere harmlessly bounces after the glowing fluffy feathers armor of the Lucky Chikipi before shattering into before glittering pieces fading away. “Ah!” I shouted while pointing to something to its side.
“Bwak?” The Pal turned to look to the side in confusion before blinking and turning back.
A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
“Cold!” I shouted with a mouth full of water. “This isn’t so bad.” I say while wading through the chest high clear waters beneath the falls.
“Bwak!” The Lucky Chikipi cried in rage as it tried to run toward the edge of the pool of water.
“I take that back!” I shouted when I made it to the other side and climbed out and turned around.
“Bwark!” The glow around the Pal turned purple and began to spread out once more. “Bwa-?!” It suddenly disappeared as it slipped on the wet rocks by the pool and fell in.
“Need that bow quickly!” I yelled as I ran to the bench and mashed at the menu for the weapon. The building process began and it felt so slow as I watched the drenched Lucky Chikipi flutter out of the pool and shake off the water. “Hurry…” I said while taking in a deep breath as the Pal began its way back to this side using the bridge this time.
[Ding. Bow is complete.] Paldex confirms as the Pal reaches this side.
“Yes!” I grab the bow excited about the extra protection. “Shit, arrows!” I scream in frustration while diving to the side and rolling on the ground under the dive attack of the enemy.
“Bwark…” The Lucky Chikipi mutters in confusion due to it ramming straight through the trees and hitting the cliff behind. Its eyes were swimming while it stumbled around a bit.
“So much-” I huff while sprinting and jumping on top of a boulder before leaping onto a small ledge and vaulting over. “Trouble over one-” I begin to sprint uphill before having to dive out of the way of another one of those pesky air blast-like attacks.
“Mew-” It flew past me and slammed into one of those pink cat-like Pals, this one vanished while dropping a handful of berries.
“I really should learn the names of these creatures…” I struggled running uphill escaping my pursuer.
“Bwa?” The Lucky Chikipi lost interest in chasing me once again as it found the dropped berries and began to eat.
“Paldex, what’s the name of this beast again?” I huffed while doubling over catching my breath.
[Ding.] A small text hovers over the Paldex band, I bring it up to my face.
“Chikipi?” I took in a deep breath while watching the Pal bounce to a berry bush to continue its feast. “You won round 2 as well, my fowl foe.” I chuckled while walking down the path a bit and picked up a shining blue stone. “Enjoy your victory feast, for now.” I store the paldium with a grin before jogging down the cliff to my left some, I end up looking down at my work bench from a good height. “This is kind of high-” I slipped on the slippery edge due to the spray from the falls. “Ah!” I shouted in surprise.
“Bwa?” The Lucky Chikipi glances around momentarily due to my noise. Upon not noticing anything unusual it turns its limited attention back to the berries.
“Magic tree, you’re amazing.” I hugged the tree that had been brought back by the island, it was the same one that the Pal hit earlier. I was halfway up the tree and began my climb down. “Good to know my source of wood won’t run out.” I laughed as I jumped to the ground from the last branch.
“Arrow time, how many can I make…” I quietly approach my bench while watching the Lucky Chikipi happily sit down and sun bath after its snack time. “Just you wait.” I glared at the massively powerful bird. “Make all the arrows!” I whispered my shout, to avoid drawing unwanted attention.
[Ding.] The workbench chimed and presented my batch of arrows to build on the table. I held my hand on the button and waited for a few agonizingly long minutes staring at my enemy that could blast me away with a wave of its comically small wing. [Ding. 69 Arrows complete.] The workbench informed me.
“Nice, now the balls, I mean spheres.” I shake my head as I select to make one more Pal Sphere. “Just you wait, Chikipi.” I press the button with a smile on my face and my bow in hand.
