[DING]A chime rang out while I was collecting fallen branches for some wood. [Your Essence level is now 3. Tech level 3 unlocked. Weapon available to be unlocked, who you-] The Paldex informed me before I shouted to interrupt it.
“Yes!” I shouted at the mention of a weapon. “Anything should be better than that club.” I said with a sigh.
[Bow unlocked.] The Paldex stated.
“Not Bow and Arrows?” I shake my head as I pull up the Tech screen. “Of course it’s a separate item.” I say sarcastically while unlocking the arrows. “Now, to get some materials…hello, what is this?” I spotted a glimmer in the tall grass a bit down the way.
“Meeah!” A small herd of puffy sheep jumped as I walked by, they also were running on two tiny legs. One of them tripped and began to roll down the hill, the others cried and chased after it.
“What’s with those fluff balls?” I asked while watching their antics with a chuckle. I bent down to pick up a shiny blue stone. “Is this stuff just laying around…” I stand back up as the stone is stored away, while another one of those sheep Pals walks around by a berry bush.
[Lamball, Extra Small Pal. This Pal is coated with so much wool that its movements become difficult, you can usually find them rolling themselves unconscious when traveling downhill.] The Paldex popped up with a window which was covered in haze, before closing abruptly.
“That was weird.” I said as I watched the Lamball walk away. I tapped the Paldex band on my wrist. “How about you just show me some basic written info.” I sighed as I noticed some of that shiny blue rock cluster. “What was this stuff called again?” I ask while inspecting the hard rock by the water.
[Ding] The Paldex chimed and put a simple tag above the rock.
“Paldium, alright then. Time for tools.” I say while rubbing my hands together. “Paldex, show me that build menu.” I say while putting my hands up, expecting that crazy holo build mode from before.
[Ding] The Paldex chimed while displaying two small icons above itself. [Please choose a selection.] It asked.
“Fine… Workbench.” I sigh while poking the picture of a simple looking wooden working bench.
[Select building location.] Paldex chimed as a blue image of a wooden styled workbench appeared before me.
“Woah, now this is cool.” I say with a smile. I reach out to touch the image, only for it to retreat from my touch. “Now what?” I asked Paldex after I got tired of playing around with the holographic image.
[Say “Build” when you have selected the valid location.] Paldex replied.
“Uh…” I turned around looking for someplace to put the station, the blue image was stuck in the center of my vision while I looked around. “Here, um Build.” I said the command after deciding to build it right in front of myself.

[Place your hand on the button.] Paldex chimed while the image became much more vivid. An orange floating button appeared hovering before the image.
“Now wh-” I put my hand on the button before me, it felt like cold solid glass. Slowly a hazy glow emanated from myself as the image of the workbench before me began to change. Little orbs of light streamed out from my pack and joined together at the workbench. “Woah.”
[Ding.] Paldex signaled the completion of the build as the lights faded and a simple looking study workbench stood before me.
“This is crazy… you can smell the freshness of the wood.” I ran my hand along the smooth surface of the thick bright wooden planks used for the bench, while sniffing the fine scent of freshly cut wood. “So, how do I use this?” I sighed while tapping my fingers on the bench.
[Ding.] The chime came from the workbench this time as a simple menu sprung up from the tool self of the work bench.
“Oh! So that’s how I make the tools!” I hit the image of a pickaxe. The image enlarged to show a transparent image of a real pickaxe on the workbench. Then the build button appears above it. “I’m loving this.” I say with a smile as I lay my hand on the button and watch the magic happen.
[Ding. Pickaxe is complete.] The Paldex voice echoes from the workbench as I store my new tool away.
“Now I need two more tools and nice, I can make a Pal Sphere.” I say with a grin while checking the workbench menu again. “What’s that?” I glanced up from the workbench as I spotted a Lamball herd crying and running from a giant Chikipi. “I’m not sure if it’s the sun, but is that giant Pal sparkling?” I try to use my hand to shade my eyes from the sun for a better view.
[Lucky Pals, are Pals with an enhanced special attack upon birth.] Paldex chimed up to inform me. [The simmering effect is due to the overwhelming so-bzbz- Essence the Pal has going out of control. Sadly, Lucky Pals do not last too long due to their own powers.] Paldex had a small hiccup while telling me about this Lucky Chikipi.
“Then I had better try and get it.” I hit the Pal Sphere option on the workbench. A large blue softball sized crystalline sphere wrapped in golden engravings materialized on the workbench. “How does wood, stone, and another blue thingy make-... never mind, it’s magic…” I say as I watch the building process play out.
[Ding. Pal Sphere is complete.] The Paldex says as I just stare at the mystical device sitting there.
“So, I just throw this at it?” I say while poking the sphere, it doesn’t roll around or move much. I pick it up before tossing it and catching it, gauging the weight of the Pal Sphere. “Shouldn’t be too hard.” I say with overconfidence. I walk up behind the Lucky Chikipi who’s back is turned to me while it munches on its victims' dropped meat.
“Bwark?” It clucked for a moment as I stepped on a branch.
“Screw it!” I chuck the sphere at the Lucky Chikipi and hit it in the back of the head. Its head turned to glare at me briefly before it was sucked away into the Pal Sphere. “I have a bad feeling…” I say while I turn and run away towards the hill the Lamballs rolled down.
“Bawak!” The Lucky Chikipi cawed out when it shattered out of the sphere. Its angry eyes were locked onto my fleeing form. I did the dumb thing and watched as it formed a hazy image of a dragon out of the glowing power from its body.
“What the fu-” I had only paused for a moment to see the Lucky Chikipi’s eye grin wickedly. Large rocky balls of royal purple fire formed before the hazy glowing form of the ethereal dragon. I turned and sprinted with all my might for the cliffs before me. “Shi-!” I yelled as I jumped over them, not caring about the fall.
“BWARK!” The Lucky Chikipi roared out as the massive meteors were shot forth.
