Chapter 71: Jack

Savior Green was a busy gambler.

He spent most of his time gambling and indulging in high-class brothels. He excelled in both of these activities.

As he meditated using pure energy, he, like most newborn demons, had a calm temperament.

His mage talent talent was genuinely remarkable. In just around ten thousand years, he has reached rank 7, an unimaginable feat.

There are three main reasons for this.

First, his own talent is at rank 12. With a rank 12 talent, there are no bottlenecks. Even while gambling, his rank advances passively.

Second, his luck is the second-best in the world. Though it doesn't match his father's luck, it is still astounding.

Even if he picked up a random pebble from the road, it would later turn out to be a valuable meditation treasure.

The last reason was Rachel. She had given one of her incarnations to him.

The incarnation wasn't there to steal luck but to help him promote, and she also benefited when he got promoted.

These factors combined made it possible for Savior to reach rank 7 in such a remarkably short time.

Still, Savior wasn't enthusiastic about meditation. Rachel tried to motivate him many times but failed to convince him. He simply loved gambling and prostitutes and not much else.

"Hey, Savior, go back; Jack needs to drink 'it' again," she said.

Savior asked, "Again?"

"yes," she replied.

Frustrated, he muttered, "Why do I deserve this?"

In the last month, Jack has turned his life upside down.

Every few hours, Jack does 'it,' and he needs to go and feed 'it' to him.

For him, it should not be difficult because he can teleport.

But, many of his activities can't be interrupted, like gambling and affairs with prostitutes.

Many times in the last month, Jack suddenly started 'it,' and Savior was forced to quit in the middle of a game or stop his affair with a prostitute mid-job.

Jack was his first child, born only a few years ago.

It's amazing that after ten thousand years, he had only just had his first child.

However, it's not so surprising when you consider that only a few months ago, Rachel modified some of the laws of Hell. The previous law had created a bug that rendered many newborn demons who used pure energy for meditation infertile.

It took a lot of investigation of the code to fix it. Bugs like this happen when you modify the code, as it inevitably leads to some flaws, especially when Rachel, despite her abilities, is not experienced in this area.

She could have solved it sooner, but it wasn't a priority, so it took some time.

Finally, Jack was born. Initially, Savior was happy, but after what happened a month ago, he realized something was seriously wrong with Jack.

Jack was weird, saying strange things as if he had memories before being born from the very start.

Lana wanted to eat him, Zagronan suggested giving Jack to an orphanage, and Rachel wanted to give him a pill container and let him fend for himself.

However, Savior disagreed with them and decided to keep him, which he now regrets.

He already has 50 other children, so losing one wouldn't affect him.

It's all talk when they say a parent's love doesn't diminish with more children. Of course, it does.

After having 50 children, a parent might not be distraught when one dies. Of course, it depends on the person. Some can have a million children and still be devastated by the death of one.

But Savior was not such a person. He was wealthy, spent time with prostitutes every day who loved to have his children, and it is expected that he would have hundreds, if not thousands, of children.

So, why waste so much effort on Jack? It's because Rachel insists on it.

For the past month, every once in a while, Jack goes into a frenzy, as if he's losing his mind, and starts harming himself. He won't stop until Savior goes there and lets Jack drink a drop of his blood.

This behavior was so terrifying that Jack's mother ran away after witnessing it for the first time.

Zagronan and Lana could have stopped him, but Rachel forbade it. She forced Savior to go there every time and feed him the drop of blood.

He was frustrated, but in this family, nobody dared to disobey Rachel.

So, reluctantly, Savior said goodbye to his friends and started flying home. It would only take a few minutes, so he saw no need for long-distance teleportation.

...

Jack was a transmigrator from Earth.

Originally a gamer, after clicking on a strange game ad, he suddenly found himself in this new world.

Fortunately, he had brought his cheat with him.

It was designed for an RPG dungeon-clearing game with a simple function: it made you stronger the more damage you took.

Once active, no matter how much damage you took, it made you stronger, and it was impossible to die while the skill was active.

A month ago, his cheat finally activated, with one restriction absent in the game.

The ability could only be used for a short time, once a weak.

He decided to try it. Fortunately, once the skill was active, he wouldn't feel any pain.

He began harming himself, and the skill continuously strengthened him in various aspects: his body, mana, soul, and talent.

The system was overpowered, as it was essentially an invincibility cheat in the game.

While in this world, while it had been significantly nerfed, it still retained its core functionality.

As he started self-inflicting injuries, his father arrived, and that's when Jack hit the jackpot.

The system prompt displayed this message to him: "Attention, the player encountered a boss! A drop of blood can shorten cooldown intervals of the skill."

However, as a child, he had no way of obtaining a drop of blood for his father.

He witnessed his father's strength before and knows it's an impossible task for him to get a drop of blood.

However, to his surprise, his father voluntarily stepped forward and gave a drop of blood.

He drank it, and then the system entered an upgrade mode and was deactivated for some time. When it appeared again, the cooldown intervals were shorter.

He began the process again, harming himself once more, and his father came forward and gave blood again. Surprisingly, none of the people around him stopped him from doing it.

They didn't even ask questions, as if someone was stopping them.

Jack felt optimistic about the future. If the cooldown reached zero, then he would be invincible.

...

Rachel was amazed.

She had expected Savior's first child to have a system, but she never anticipated it being an 'original system.'

Transmigrators were always supposed to be children of her hosts, and she had never encountered a transmigrator from anywhere else.

Typically, all the transmigrators had systems, and almost all had systems she nicknamed 'empty shells.'

For empty shells, she could modify them, hack them, and manage them.

However, very rarely, some appeared with systems she nicknamed 'original systems.' These systems were unmodifiable; she couldn't steal them, and she couldn't manipulate them in any way.

More importantly, original systems had an incredible energy slot from the system.

The system's energy is endless, so transmigrators getting energy doesn't take anything away from Rachel.

Those systems usually granted immense power, and the main body highly valued their holders. Such individuals made exceptional warriors, and Jack was one of them.

After he started using his system for the first time, she quickly noticed the abnormality. She instructed everyone to back off and let Jack do as he pleased.

Also, she forced Savior to come every time and feed Jack the drop of blood.

"With Jack, I finally contribute something noticeable to the main body!" she thought, feeling happy.

It's not as if she gets any reward or anything. Just helping the main body is reward enough. Rachels are one, and they all want the main body to succeed.

Transmigrators with original systems are rare, even for the main body.

They are guaranteed to achieve rank 13 power if they survive and are incredibly powerful at that level.

Main Rachel has some theories regarding what they are, but these are classified and unavailable to Rachel here.

"Zag, I have great hopes for Jack!" she exclaimed.

Zag responded, "What great hopes? He seems crazy! Maybe he inherited something from my father, Tanoth."

Tanoth was the former god of Wisdom but went mad due to an inheritance left by the creators.

Initially, Zag thought the inheritance was something great, but later, he discovered its name. It was called "enlightenment."

In truth, it would have been far more accurate to be called "False enlightenment."

It was a peak rank 9 treasure, basically a Trojan horse. By stealing it from heaven, the god of Wisdom unknowingly did the gods a great favor.

However, during the short time it was in heaven, it 'enlightened' some gods. One of them was the god of evil, who was even more evil than the demon kings. Not many know why he's still a god.

"Enlightenment" doesn't make anyone evil; it simply makes one feel they've found the truth.

The 'truth' can vary from person to person. One might see the truth as "helping the weak is the reason for life," while another might believe it's "drinking the blood of innocents is the truth of life," and yet another might find it in "digging a hole in the ground is the truth of life."

One consistent aspect among them all is that they are all false. "Enlightenment" misleads people and convinces them beyond correction.

Tanoth, Zagronan's father, had long been affected by the "Enlightenment"; the reason for a god, like Wisdom, defecting to Hell was this belief that the truth lay in Hell.

The effects of "Enlightenment" are greater on people who desire the truth, and the god of Wisdom was a prime target. That's why he was the first to be "enlightened."

Rachel shook her head in response to this revelation.

"Don't worry, he is sane! He has a good reason for his actions," she said.

Just then, Savior arrived and silently went to where Jack was self-harming.

Jack appeared like a human child, as he was half-human due to his mother's lineage.

For an uninformed observer, it would be pretty terrifying to watch a child engage in such actions. But upon closer inspection, one might realize that there was no 'harm' in this action. There was blood, but no actual harm would occur.

Savior knew this but had been forced to come here because of Rachel. He sighed and cut his finger, allowing a drop of blood to squeeze out.

Jack eagerly opened his mouth to drink it.

"What is this child? Rachel? Why am I feeding 'it'?" Savior asked, baffled by the scene and Jack's eagerness for the blood.

For Savior, who had never seen Hell, it was a frightening experience.

"It's classified! Just feed him," she replied.

Information regarding powerful weapons could not be leaked, especially during war. This matter had already been transmitted to regional headquarters, and someone sent by Rachel would soon arrive to take Jack.

He would be taken somewhere where his skill could truly shine.

Jack took just one drop of blood, as the system had instructed him to drink only one drop. Then, a prompt appeared, saying, "The system will go into upgrade mode." Jack smiled and looked around.

Information about the people present popped into his mind.

Jack had always been curious about what "The First Transmigrator" meant.

Both his father and his grandfather had this title, but he had no idea what it entailed.

Jack had already asked both about Earth, but they shook their head, confused. Obviously, they were not from Earth.

He thought about these for a while and then burped and fell asleep. During system upgrades, his energy gets very low, so sleeping was all he could do.

Rachel smiled and said, "Let him sleep a bit; he's tired."

Zagronan and Savior were left speechless but didn't say anything.

They left quietly.
