Chapter 289: Heavenly Alchemist

Chapter 289: Heavenly Alchemist

The Brown dynasty, the largest in the surrounding continents, boasts the best labs, the rarest books, the smartest assistants, and the highest-quality materials. With their help, Jack began researching and making breakthroughs one after another. His sole purpose was always to calculate the Divine Soul chapter of the heaven's way cultivation technique.

However, there were costs; he was forced to hand over the complete version of the Heaven's Way technique to the Brown dynasty without any traps. He had no choice; any traps would have been discovered. After all, even though Daoist Stormy is not a master in Heaven Dao, she is still a soul transformation cultivator.

After giving them the complete technique, Jack returned to his sect, Heaven's Way, which was operating under Amber's leadership, and gave her the complete version as well. Now that the technique had been given to the brown dynasty, there was no point in hiding it from his loyal subordinates. Moreover, he was always uneasy about handing them a flawed version that could be exploited. So, after providing a perfect version, the worry in the back of his mind was gone.

Jack still cared a little about his sect. Sure, even if they died, it wouldn't affect him much, but having some loyal subordinates doesn't hurt.

Even though the higher-ups of the Brown dynasty knew his technique, Jack had a massive advantage when it came to cultivating. After all, his system has over 2000 years of practice reserves left.

One must see beyond what is in front of their eyes. Hiding the technique from the Brown dynasty was a dumb move, which might have convinced them to use other means to take it from him. In any case, Jack knew for sure that several perfection cultivators have similar cultivation techniques that deal with Heaven's Way. Even though their technique is not as good as Heaven's Way, it is not far behind.

By giving it up, he got a massive boost from the ruling dynasty, allowing him to calculate heaven's way's next realm; without the Brown dynasty's help, he would have been left far behind. Speed is of the essence; there are many transmigrators worldwide, many of whom have outrageously powerful cheats; if Jack takes his time and cultivates slowly, they will overtake him and may endanger his life.

Regarding the technique's core formation level, Heaven's Way is by far the best in the world. However, as he calculated higher levels, the difference between them reduced. The reason is that the core formation level was made using his outside-world knowledge, but levels after core formation, nascent soul, and divine soul, etc, were calculated using the knowledge of this world.

...

One hundred years passed since Jack started his cooperation with the dynasty.

Looking at his panel, Jack smiled:

"Name: Jack"

"Cultivation level: Peak of the nascent soul"

"Main mission: Conquer the world"

"Side mission: Calculate the divine soul chapter of Heaven's Way cultivation technique - Claim your reward"

"Temporary task: Accept a disciple"

"Grandpa's current level: Soul substance realm - 8th stage - usable for 1 h/day."

"Grandpa's max level: Soul transformation - 10th stage"

"Reserves: 8030 years of cultivation practice"

In the last century, Jack finally calculated the divine soul chapter of Heaven's Way using the dynasty's near-endless resources. Along the way, he completed hundreds of the system's temporary tasks, which earned him many years of cultivation practice. He was still stuck at the peak of his nascent soul, but one must not think his strength remained stagnant.

Even not counting the many magic spells he created, his grandpa alone was a massive power boost for him. He can completely control Grandpa now and has access to substance soul power for one entire hour each day!

In front of Stormy, even soul substance cultivators are ants, but that doesn't mean they are weak. Substance soul cultivators are the higher echelon and can protect themselves against most things. Nobody knows about Grandpa, which makes it a trump card that can catch the enemy off guard.

That isn’t all; the divine soul chapter of Heaven's Way technique may not look much compared to substance soul realm combat power, but one must not consider Heaven Dao techniques the same as other techniques. It includes many spells, many of which are incredibly powerful.

This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience.

It was so good that Stormy increased the resources allocated to Heaven's Way research by ten times over the years.

Even though thousands of talented disciples were diverted to researching Heaven's Way, none were even close to being as good as Jack. Without him, it would have taken thousands of years to calculate the divine soul chapter, even if they spent a hundred times as much resources on it. The reason is that Jack knows the road, the destination, and the bumps on the way. He cannot directly use his knowledge of the outside world, but his thought process alone is valuable beyond the imagination of mortals.

The top five heaven-related spells Jack calculated were:

Heavenly Alchemist: This spell allows one to change the nature of immortal objects, such as turning immortal iron into immortal gold. The rank of the materials cannot be higher than the cultivation level of the caster. Heavenly Alchemist was so overpowered that just this one spell solved most of the financial issues Jack might have. It wasn’t directly helping in battles; it was an excellent support spell. One of the limiting factors of this spell was that the caster must be careful not to 'disrupt the balance of the world.' If Jack went overboard, for example, produced so much immortal gold that it 'disrupted the balance of the world',' the will of the heavens would send a tribulation his way.

Heavenly Knowledge: Using this spell, one can dive deep into secrets known only to the heavens. Again, one cannot go overboard; otherwise, they must face tribulation.

Heavenly Armor: This spell summons an unbreakable armor that would not break even in the face of an attack from a soul-transformation cultivator. Overreliance on it can have consequences, however. Defending against strong attacks is not cheap; the spell steals energy from the heavens, and the will of the heavens hates thieves. The spell may defend against the attack and save the caster temporarily, but then the will of the heavens sends down a powerful tribulation that kills the caster anyway. However, other ways exist to weaken, avoid, or delay heavenly tribulations. Heavenly Armor protects against certain death in exchange for a possible future tribulation. There is no need to explain how powerful it is.

Delay Disaster: This spell can delay heavenly tribulations. It can only be used once a decade. The delay duration depends on the tribulation's intensity and the spell's power.

Heavenly Communication: This spell can be used to contact those far away, pass through most blockades, and have a worldwide reach. But, because it uses heaven's power, it has risks. It cannot be used too often; otherwise, the heavens may send down a tribulation.

There are many other spells, such as "Heavenly Clock," "Heaven's Dark Side," "Heavenly Judgment," "Heavenly Incarnation," "Distort Heavens," "Distort Time," and "Distort Space."

Heavenly Clock: This is a simple watch that tracks time. It can be extremely useful in certain situations where precise timing is important.

Heaven's Dark Side: This spell adds dark elements to all attacks, increasing their lethality.

Heavenly Judgment: This spell displays the moral value of the target; a value of 0 is neutral, while -1000 is max evil, and 1000 is max good.

Heavenly Incarnation: This spell can create a temporary incarnation as strong as the host. However, because it is created using heavenly powers, the will of the heavens would immediately attack and destroy it. Heavenly Incarnation alone is unworkable; it can only be useful if one can find a way to hide the incarnation's existence from the heavens.

Distract Heavens: This spell can hide heavenly incarnations. The Distract Heavens spell is different from 'Deceive Heavens.' Deceive Heavens deceives the heavens, as evidenced by its name, but Distract Heavens distracts it, creating loopholes in its senses and shadows that can hide things from the heavens. It won't deceive the heavens, it just blocks its view. Its power is lower than Deceive Heavens, but it has the upside that, unlike Deceive Heavens, casting Distract Heavens has a very low chance of attracting a tribulation. Deceive Heavens, on the other hand, if discovered, can make the heavens extremely angry.

Distort Time and Distort Space: These spells can influence time and space. At Jack's level, he cannot travel even one second to the past, so they are not useful now. They require an unimaginable quantity of energy to do any significant time distortion. Even perfection cultivators may not have that kind of energy. Manipulating time and space in major ways is very expensive.

With all these spells, Jack may be as strong as a substance soul realm cultivator once he reaches the divine soul realm. Crossing a major realm is no joke, and Jack may be able to do it only because of the amazing abilities of Heaven's Way's spells.

"Time to break through to the divine soul!" Jack thought. He had been at the peak of his nascent soul for many years, so nobody would doubt him. After reaching the divine soul, however, he doesn't intend to break through to the peak of the divine soul immediately. In any case, he doesn't have the Heaven's Way's substance soul chapter. He intends to use his system to slowly break through the peak of the divine soul over hundreds of years, so they 'only' think of him as an extremely talented genius.

Thinking of this, he summoned his system interface.
