Jack remained in the inheritance ground for many years; he didn’t dare come out because he thought perfection cultivators were waiting for him. He wasn’t aware of recent incidents regarding elemental cultivators.
Jack knew everything about the world and could predict the future based on his knowledge; however, transmigrators were wildcards, which Jack wasn’t aware of, making it impossible for him to predict their reactions.
As time passed in the inheritance ground, Jack and Tlod used their newly gained knowledge to improve their techniques.
Jack used the ancient wizard's knowledge to enhance the Heaven's Way technique, while Tlod devised a new cultivation technique using the cultivator's knowledge.
The inheritance of Light and Dark that Tlod left behind was one of the richest; it contained the entire wealth of knowledge of Wizard civilization, many of their treasures, and one final secret treasure.
How much one can gain depends on one's abilities.
Unlike many other inheritances, the Dark and Light inheritance was not necessarily only for one person. The inheritance would reset every time a transmigrator inside it died. However, they do not have to die; they can leave the inheritance ground if they discover the method of doing so.
One can obtain a few treasures and books of ancient wizards and then leave the inheritance entirely. As they leave, the inheritance resets, ready for another inheritor.
The only way the inheritance completely disappears is if someone solves it and finds the final prize. Of course, an ordinary transmigrator would have no way of knowing any of this; they wouldn’t even know that there is a final prize.
Jack, as the one who created it, knew this; however, Jack didn’t want to gain the final prize. If he got the final reward, the inheritance ground would be completely destroyed, and then he would have to face the perfection cultivators outside.
Aside from all the knowledge and many treasures of ancient wizards, Jack looked forward to obtaining the final treasure when he was ready to face the cultivators outside. The final treasure is a very simple yet precious item that can be used to dominate the world. It is called 'Inexhaustible,' a piece of immortal energy stone in a masterfully crafted formation that can produce energy for countless years.
The piece of immortal energy stone kept the inheritance running for so many years, allowing it to reset itself repeatedly.
In short, there are a few types of energy.
In the mortal realm, energy starts from the lowest, most diluted form, which energy-gathering cultivators use. This energy has different names depending on the world but can generally be called 'extremely diluted energy.'
After rank 4, practitioners have to start absorbing more concentrated forms of energy, which can be called 'diluted energy.'
After rank 7, even diluted energy is no longer enough; one must consume concentrated mortal energy to advance. Concentrated Mortal energy is used until rank 9.
Mortal energy is no longer sufficient after rank 10. Rank 10 and above immortals must use higher forms of energy, such as Realization energy, Chaos energy, universal energy, etc. These higher forms of energy are completely different from mortal energy; it's like comparing the core of a sun to a lit-up match.
Immortal energy crystals are valuable even for rank 10 and above immortals. A long time ago, immortal crystals were used as currency among immortals.
The immortal crystal in this inheritance is placed in a formation and produces concentrated energy. It is masterfully made; its energy is directly capable of casting spells.
However, infinite energy alone is not enough. Even if Jack gets it, if he is not rank 9, he cannot cast rank 9 spells. The energy crystal is like a high-end car, but Jack is like an ant; no matter how good the car is, he can’t use it.
Therefore, his plan has been two-pronged. First, he keeps Tlod alive; as long as Tlod remains, the inheritance ground is safe.
Second, he advances his cultivation to at least soul transformation; even though Jack still cannot fully utilize the energy crystal with soul transformation cultivation, he may at least be able to press the gas pedal.
Overall, Jack has been successful so far; he kept Tlod on his side and alive while advancing his own cultivation technique research. After many years, Jack finally calculated the multiple soul chapters of Heaven's Way.
This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings.
Now, Jack can break through at any time; it was very difficult, but he managed it after gaining a lot of wizards' studies on Heaven's Dao. He already had substantial knowledge about Heaven's Way from the Blood Sea inheritance, which, although it had little direct knowledge of Heaven, had very advanced knowledge of Blood Dao. Jack naturally used that advanced knowledge to discover secrets about Heaven Dao.
In addition, Jack had many books about the Four Sects and the Brown Dynasty, which, though they had little direct knowledge of Heaven Dao, contained extensive knowledge of other Daos, which Jack used to extract secrets about Heaven Dao.
There is much more to gain; Jack knows that the top ten detachment wizards and the Holy Wizard Council all have deep research on Heaven Dao. After all, their main belief is in reincarnation, which is closely related to Heaven Dao.
Those with high mastery of the Heaven Dao may even start uncovering the truth of the world and gain knowledge about the world's codes; in all, the Heaven Dao is about the world itself, how it works, how it was made, how to defend it, how to take advantage of it, how to infiltrate it, how to corrupt it, etc.
The Holy Wizard Council and the top ten detachment wizards know reincarnation doesn’t exist in this world. They have a good reason for hiding it.
It all revolves around the secrets of the soul.
The top ten detachment wizards and holy wizards hid the truth and persecuted anyone who doubted it because they wanted to prevent research on the soul. Their reason was never discovered and remains one of history's mysteries. But Jack knows why.
The soul is the most important part of each person, whether a cultivator or a mortal.
But not all of the soul.
The soul has two parts: one is the core, and the other is the outer soul. The core has many names, such as True Soul, Essence Soul, Inner Soul, etc. The Inner Soul is directly granted to each person by the creation itself; it is unique, one in the entire creation, and can never be destroyed. It will be retrieved by the creation once the holder dies. When the creation takes back the Inner Soul, it will never grant the same Inner Soul to another being; each Inner Soul is a unique, indestructible piece that will never return after it is retrieved by the creation.
For this reason, practically, even though the Inner Soul wouldn’t be destroyed and only retrieved back by the creation, in practice, there is no difference; once someone dies, their Inner Soul would disappear forever.
This is the biggest difficulty in truly resurrecting someone. Even though it's possible to resurrect their bodies, memories, appearance, etc., taking back their unique Inner Souls from the creation is impossible. Therefore, they cannot be truly resurrected once someone dies and their Inner Soul is retrieved.
But there are ambiguities.
First of all, the word 'death' may sound straightforward, but it is not. As mentioned, the creation only retrieves the inner soul once the holder 'dies.' But what is death? Does death occur once the heart stops? That cannot be true because even the undead have Inner Souls. It is extremely hard to define what death means on a universal scale.
The creation is omnipotent; it knows what death is. From its view, death is when one has no chance of making any conscious decision ever again; because the creation is omniscient, it knows for sure whether someone would ever have the chance to make any conscious decision.
However, a conscious decision is defined very broadly; even deciding to 'think' is a conscious decision from the creation's view. Therefore, it would not retrieve the Inner Souls of anyone who dies and whose soul has any chance of even 'thinking' in the future.
This creates issues.
Realms such as Nascent Soul, Divine Soul, and Substance Soul only increase the strength of the outer soul and have nothing to do with the Inner Soul. Once they are destroyed, the Inner Soul would be no different from a mortal's Inner Soul.
However, other complications would happen once someone destroys a nascent soul.
For example, in a battle between two Nascent Soul cultivators, if one defeats the other and destroys the other's Nascent Soul, it releases much-accumulated energy from the defeated cultivator's Nascent Soul. That energy can affect the environment, influencing animals, plants, etc. In many cases, the death location of Nascent Soul cultivators would become grounds for the birth of intelligent creatures. Those intelligent creatures were born due to the soul energy of the Nascent Soul cultivator who died; they were influenced by the thoughts of that cultivator, and from the perspective of the creation, they have the possibility of, in the future, starting to remember the memories of the previous Nascent Soul cultivator. The Nascent Soul cultivator can come back to life like that.
Because so many inner souls are left in the world and not retrieved, they create an extra burden for the world, which is why the wizards prohibited research on the soul.
The Issue wouldn't have existed without Rachel's Gray realm. Because of the existence of the Gray realm, creation is no longer truly omniscient in the truest sense of the word. These issues wouldn't have happened if it was truly omniscient. This is one of the signs that helped Rachel know that Creation is indeed incomplete.
A truly omniscient being wouldn't work with possibilities but with certainty; if it was truly omniscient, it would have known whether a defeated nascent soul cultivator would ever think again in the future; it would have known without a shadow of a doubt and wouldn't have been bothered with 'possibilities.'
Possibilities are only useful for those with incomplete knowledge; once someone has complete knowledge, they can predict everything with absolute certainty; if one misses even the slightest, even very important detail, they can no longer predict anything with certainty.
These arrangements were the handiwork of the Daoist Blood Sea; she destroyed all techniques related to the soul because they were burdening the world.
But after Daoist Tlod, the problem was solved. He added a few fixes to the world so that it removed any influence left behind by Nascent Souls.
In present times, the death of Nascent Soul cultivators no longer causes the appearance of intelligent animals.
However, the issue was not solved at the time of the wizards, so soul cultivation was prohibited.
All of this is lost to history; Jack only knew it because he wrote it.
