Most people who go the route of traps know how costly investment startup needed to even get it up and usable.
take for example the ones who buy cheap and durable traps. Made to last at the cost of performance and stealth. Traps such as these are usually bought and made by those who hunt themselves and with to make a profit in the long term.
Although these traps don't make back even a tenth of the investment put into it as White rabbits grew warry of them long ago...unless they are desperate and failed to notice the trap by luck.
But it usually takes 3 to 5 years to see the investment of these traps pay off. Some traps are just like that, roughly designed and careless in preparation for lethal stealth. Yes, these regular traps are usually done by those who wish to hunt personally and the trap is just a steady side income gained through time.
the investments never go higher then around 40 Sunstrikes usually.
However, there are those who dedicate their all into the craft of traps. Turning their passion into mechanical structures of carefully designed masterpieces. Using all that's available to them such as ropes, wires, gears, chains, and loads of random pieces of metal. They make a self sustainable trap that always gets the rabbit when one passes by. Unaware of the hidden beauty of death they charge into.
These works of art are the ones who have a huge investment, many times having to invest more to upgrade their craft or maintenance of their equipment.
These traps usually cost around 50 sunstrikes and go up from there. With an additional 1 or 2 sunstrike per maintenance, with loads more sunstrikes put into upgrades.

But yet, regardless of their costs. The most expensive part of any trap, cheap or expensive, is the the lure.
Lures for the rabbit hunting season are incredibly popular. you don't even need a trap as lures can be used by you and hang somewhere on your waist to attract the attention of a White rabbit. Lots of lures exist to find various ways of attracting a white rabbit. Some by smell, others by sound, even some using the distinct liquid made by a female white rabbit in heat. This eventually turns the lures prices sky high, with the cheapest being 30 Sunstikes usually. But they are not usually bought at the beginning of the season. Rather closer to the near the end.
The first 3 weeks of the hunt has so many white rabbits about that there is not enough personnel to hunt all the rabbits down. Almost dozens of white rabbits would pass by under the feet of someone all the time, and yet they couldn't kill them fast enough before leaving him after he killed several of them.
The next 2 weeks is when the personnel finally have a control over the rabbits and not have anyone being overwhelmed with too many white rabbits that they don't even have enough time to react before too many run away. Some people buy lures by now to help hold them longer so that they can get more mana cores by the end of it.
The final 3 weeks is the most important however. Rabbits running about have dwindled to the point where they got smart and hide themselves instead of running are left. Yet the results at this stage by experts in the city state that it's only 40% of the total amount before the hunting season started.
Yes, lots of rabbits still exist but are just smart now to hide instead of running about or fleeing.
The 2 weeks becomes the most highly sought after time to buy lures. Because at this stage only the lures can bring the rabbits out of hiding.
And once they do...
So many rabbits are fooled at first that the repeat of the first 3 weeks happen again and overwhelm everyone.
Lures work, but only for so long. White rabbits won't be fooled forever after all.
But what about being fooled by their own kind?
...Never.
No rabbit ever expects this level of 'betrayal' where the rabbit dies with them after all.
