The parties involved quickly found the dungeon. A mural design of branches and leaves are unmistakable. But instead of going into the fox dungeon, the parties quickly took camp and started to carve away the wall carefully for the mural.
"Hey Lucas we are going to be rich! this artwork should sell for a lot! how long do you think this dungeon has been here left alone to make a a design like this."
"I don't know Kate, but what I do know is this is ours for the taking! Those guys refuse to take such an easy cash cow because it will anger the dungeon."
"Heh, fools. Most dungeon cores and monsters are usually asleep after such a long time of nothing to do. Do they really think the water elemental can survive by herself and beat the first floor in a level 270 dungeon?"
"Leave them alone, they are suspicious that maybe what the water elemental said is true and nothing happened outside of the ordinary after a dozen of foxes. Like having the mouse leave to bring more mouses so you can catch them all."
"Even if they did and its a trap, it doesn't change us from harvesting this great treasure!"
"To each their own, they must other reasons like maybe the dungeon core will be pissed when it wakes up and finds out what we did."
"whatever..."
Besides this party that is carving up the murals of the dungeon, there are several others doing their own thing inside the camp.
"How is the wards and enchantments? Anything out of the ordinary in the vicinity?"
Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.
"No we are in the clear. The potions and buffs are also ready."
"Good, so what formation do you think we should go in."
"Maybe the wall formation, it's simple but perfect for these foxes."
"Best we should change our lower armor to full enchantment plate armor as well. Although cumbersome, but the protection against foxes who mainly attack the feet and legs is worth it."
"I agree, I don't think many of the foxes will jump higher then my stomach. a simple shield will stop a lot of the attacks from the waist up."
...
"How is the meter?"
"although not accurate, the meter is showing a level 298 after configuring it."
"It's better then nothing, at least we know not to be fooled from the first reading of only level 1.75."
"Yeah, a reading of level 1.75 is ridiculous. How is our mana scientist? any news?"
"Said to hold on, but the results don't look optimistic. If we want a bigger profit we have to go inside and reach the lower levels of the dungeon like he said."
"We have been waiting for a while now but the mana gathered on the top really isn't much. I was hoping to find a leak...but sadly we got to work for it now."
"Not everyone can be so lucky as to find a rare dungeon with a crack in the lower floors. Cracked floors with mana leaking to the surface is just too rare. sometimes you just have to do it the hard way."
"yeah...sigh..."
...
"you ready?"
"yes, you two?"
"yup (yes)."
"let's go then."
...
Soon the parties regrouped and equipped the best they can to enter the fox dungeon. Any testing tools in the camp were put away in favor for combat weapons and armor.
Once the door opened...they were greeted by 100 foxes on the first floor.
Easily eliminating the foxes with one loud sky break spell and the groups marched into the second. Only to see the second greeting of 1,000 foxes awake from the loud noise, but they were easily handled with another loud sky break spell.
If the parties were still concerned before...now that concerned dropped a few points and became confidence.
Either out of foolishness or confidence...they did not check their meters again because of the ease of the dungeon.
but...
they really should have.
The meter the parties brought was made to handle up to level 1,000 and tier 10 before error on both fields.
The meter...is showing "Error, Error."
And the dungeon core is pissed with what they did.
