Revenge!

The leader was always in the fight, just barking orders to the four under him. Every now and then jumping in to try and kill a guard blocking the way.

But the moment the leader tries to advance is when he is targeted by focus fire as all the range users throw everything at him.

the made the wolf so aggrieved that it could only stand at the back and watch it play out. But after seeing two under it's command to lead fall. The leader became enraged and disregarded everything to charge in.

In his mind, if he is going to die today then someone is going down with him. Although the hateful one who killed two of his subordinates and many of his kin is probably impossible. The wolf can see the strength she had and fighting against that was no doubt sending his own death.

But that dancer who is all alone looks like a perfect snack. Only with two thorns that is easy to handle.

...

The moment the leading wolf took charge and ran with reckless abandon was the moment everyone noticed and concentrated fire after he ran into range. But the situation quickly became apparent, the wolf's focus was completely on the teammate outside their defense.

"Hey! Get over here quickly! The leader set his sights on you."

This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.

"Ho...this is bad."

"Another promising future falling."

"We can only hope she sees the flare."

The wolf hunting party can only hope and pray that the flare will alert her of the danger. Before the eventual fight, the party had said some rules to follow by if you see a red or white flare. Red is we regroup and white is to retreat.

It works best when you can't hear your allies because of all the noise being made in the fight.

Naturally the dancer noticed and started running full speed back to the group. But the wolf was faster and was gaining on her quickly.

The other wolves seemed to understand what there leader was doing and decided to hold her back using their bodies. Although the blades hurt and burn. They weren't lethal from a few swings.

Naturally the party noticed this and started to move to her position. Thankfully the distance away from each other was only a few wolfs apart. Just need to go through three layers of wolves to reach the dancer.

But it was to late!

The leading wolf was unimpeded all the way till charging to her head on.

The dancer braced for impact by using both of her swords to sweep around herself to make room from the wolves. Good thing she did that too. After finishing and breaking away the wolves, she daftly dodged the lunge of the leading wolf in a very embarrassing manner, close to crawling on the ground.

But no matter how embarrassing it is. If it can save your life. Then it's worth it.

Now she is stuck fighting an uphill battle. She is only a level 15 dancer fire elemental facing a level 18 leader grass horned wolf. If she was against normal level 5 wolves she can be at ease and chop until they die of cuts. Even against one second in command at lvl 10 she can hold her own and retreat back to safety to recover. But this fight she might not be getting out unscathed.

But finally.

The mana Archer who was taking aim...

Fired her shot.
