"Hmm..."
"..."
'maybe look back at the job postings and see for any safer jobs. maybe we can find one that suits us best.'
"Yeah, I don't mind less pay if it means not having to do near death jobs."
...
Walking back into the hall, our trio quickly found an orb and started scrolling for jobs again. This time more refined and more specific.
"Ah! I found one. The pay is average, not too high nor too low. However, it makes up for that by sharing the profit of everything but the heart and horns of the monster we're hunting. It is a single mission that lasts for one day. And the roster has 16 of the necessary 20 needed."
"Hunt and kill a large pack of grass horned wolfs. A Level 5 monster that lives in groups between 10 to 20. This group has exceeded the normal amount to an astonishing 59 wolves and is now wanted to cull the numbers. Most of the wolves are around level 5 with the exception of four second in command who reached level 10 and the leader sitting at level 18."
"Both the second in command and leader must have a higher then normal level limit then their species. Especially the leader."
"..."
'Seems perfect. How are we going to go about fighting this time.'
"Hmm.... Let's apply and say we are level 28 illusion spell fighter."

"..."
'illusion spell fighter?'
"Yeah, if they know I'm just a regular level 8 melee fighter...Most likely I will be rejected and not be able to join in the hunt. But if I say I am a illusion spell fighter at level 28. Then I should have no problems. And before you ask, an illusion spell fighter is basically a fighter who can use illusion spells."
"..."
'so...gem guesses gem will be needed to make up the difference between 20 levels. To change the fake into real as gem can help you close that gap easily enough.'
"Exactly. I'm not in any danger anyways, although 59 of them is quite a lot. As long as they come 20 or less at a time you can always control 10 of them to fight against each other or others."
"..."
'okay that settles it! Sign up and let's head to teleporters. There's already two more that signed up as we were talking.'
...
And so the trio signed up for a wolf hunt and luckily got in at 20th place. They soon gathered at the meeting spot next to the teleporter #53. And not just them, many groups, parties, temporarily formed mercenaries gathered here where several teleporters dedicated to the Branch mercenary headquarters lay.
The group was easy to spot with the number code of their job hanging up high for everyone to see.
And like with every party, the beginning was the introduction and sharing of common knowledge about themselves. For a Team works better if they can understand each other's roles and emotions better.
The one with the highest level here was a level 32 mana Archer. The second was a level 29 herbalist. The third was our trios water elemental faking a level 28 illusion spell fighter.
But the fake quickly became true when gem used body and mind control on the Archer and herbalist to have them both sit down and repeat whatever words The water elemental said for one minute. Instead of becoming angry after that, they became happy knowing that they have a powerful front liner so that they can sit in the back with peace of mind. That and the fact that an illusionist can't show their true skill unless they pick an opposite party, them being the highest levels unfortunately made them the best proof.
Not everyone gets angry over some trivial things like this anyways, maybe a certain gem...
