'...You know. Gem didn't expect...this.'
"...uh, me neither."
What was happening on the field is the groups talking and planning all the routes and carefully looking for each pair. they planned a strategy to make each pair of horses run farther away then the child for a brief moment. then a wind mage and a speed sub-class of any type will work together to make the speed sub-class take the baby and run out of sight before the parents can run back.
after that they will use numbers to forcibly distract the horses and once everything is over.
call it a day.
sounds great on paper...
But that's only on paper...
The first time it happened the group messed up as the father was suspicious and caught them right in the act.
One of the melee fighters then took the role of distracting the horse and dodging every time.
But somebody in command must be stubborn and kept with the plan that we already know doesn't work but wanting it to work anyways.
Sadly, there is nothing our Water elemental can do. she isn't part of the planning group that handles the mares. her job is the hold the line against the Male Power Horses.
But that's when...it happened.

Someone want's to make trouble.
This girl walked by and passed a paper to her and the 4 others that all they have to do is yell that they are overwhelmed after a while when the horses start piling up and say the plan needs to be changed. Then the second in command will pay them 10 Sunstrikes. Obviously she works under the second in command.
But right after another girl came walking by and sending another piece of paper. the girl works under the one in current command and wants them to hold the line as best as they can. if they do they will pay 10 Sunstrikes to each of them.
Some time has passed and the 5 were initially neutral to it all.
But then it finally got serious.
The horses got smart and grouped together to protect their young. By then the plan was so slow that only 3 of the 17 needed babies were taken.
Meaning that they had to face 20 pissed off males and 17 mares that have yet to be separated.
Normally this never would have happened. The usual plan is to do this 5 at a time and separate into 5 groups. 1 melee to distract the male power horse, 3 to hold down and calm the mare, and 1 to grab the baby.
This method is both quick and fast enough to make everything go smoothly, with a few adjustments later when the Power horses reach a certain number.
But the one in Command wanted to change things up this season and tried to hold all the power together in one big group. Something that can easily be seen.
Horses are not dumb, they may be wary of a group of 5. But they know the danger of a group of 25.
So this evolved into what we see today. 37 horses that needed to be handled by 20...
Not only that, they couldn't be hurt and must be separated into 17 and 20...
The one in command and second command can be heard yelling at each other from a distance because of this.
"Look listen to my command and I will pay you 10 Sunstrikes. don't listen to my brother."
"No! I will pay you 15 Sunstrikes if you just keep listening to me! My brother is just an idiot who doesn't see the big picture."
"What big picture! I am already losing a lot sunstrikes just from doing this job!"
Yes...the one in command and second in command are brothers at level 29...

'Don't say anything. Maybe they are rich enough to pay us more.'
"Gem...I want to agree with you...but those horses are not sitting idly by either."
Yes, do you think those Horses can't see the conflict happening?
