Chapter 533: New elemental dragons.

Chapter 533: New elemental dragons.

The damage to the portal hub was severe.

To begin with, it wasn't built to accommodate the giant size of a dragon.

For Ruminona, a building was like paper. Destroying it wouldn't cause her any injuries.

But that destruction and the roar that accompanied it immediately caused Orion to be cautious.

As he decided to meet with the furious dragon alone, he warped away.

'What a mess...'

The entire facade of the building had fallen down, and the first floor had caved on ground level.

The portals were all inaccessible but functional. As he approached the green dragon's head, Orion sighed.

"Has something happened?"

She growled.

"You tell me!"

Stopping in his tracks, he knew that this discussion wasn't going to be settled easily, so instead, he went straight to the point.

"Listen, I have no idea what the matter is. Do you mind telling me so I can understand better?"

"If I don't know what the problem is, there's no way I can defend myself."

Ruminona calmed down after realizing that her anger took over. She was still furious, but she managed to think through it nonetheless.

"You... should come with me."

She pulled her head back into her cave and waited for him to follow her.

Orion's wings stretched over his clothes before flying into the portal to Ormrdivin.

"Alright. I'm here."

Stepping inside the cave, he walked further in.

Seeing the massive Azure Dragon, he instantly understood the problem.

His eyes turned to Ruminona.

"Did something happen to the eggs!?"

Worried, Orion frowned intensely.

"You really don't know? Was I wrong in thinking that you were the cause?"

Confused, the green dragon turned to Monolavir.

"Orion. Come see this for yourself."

Hearing the voice of his friend, Monolavir, he looked at him. With a heavy heart and apprehension, Orion walked toward the nest.

Going up the edge of the nest, he stared inside.

"Graa!"

A white dragon immediately jumped at him and began to bite his pants cutely.

"Huh?"

Shocked, Orion looked down at the small baby dragon, which was as big as he was chewing on his clothes.

*Stomp*

While puzzled, the ground began to violently shake under his feet.

The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

A wide, dark figure rushed him down before stopping inches away from him and the white dragon.

"Wait a minute!"

The black dragon, flat like a turtle, glared at Orion mischievously.

Lastly, Orion noticed a tall figure behind the dark dragon.

"..."

True shock appeared on Orion's face. Ruminona and Monolavir instantly gathered that he wasn't the one to bring this change to their children.

"A light..."

Orion placed his hand on too of the white dragon and walked past it.

"Or dark dragon..."

He touched the black dragon as he continued forward.

"I would understand. Those elements were shared with the world, so there is no question there."

He stopped in front of the big dragon with black and white scales.

"How can a void dragon even exist?"

"Ruuuu~"

The dragon leaned toward Orion before rubbing his face against his left shoulder.

The three dragons surrounded him, seemingly happy to see him.

"I get why you suspected me as the reason for this. This is beyond unexpected."

Orion turned to Ruminona while gently patting the void dragon's head.

"As I thought, you aren't the reason for this event."

Monolavir closed his eyes and lowered his head as he spoke.

"As I've said, light and dark dragons should be common in the future. After releasing those elements through the elemental realm, it was a matter of time."

A conflicted frown formed on his face.

"The only problem is this void dragon."

He pondered before switching his stance.

"Let me correct myself. This dragon itself isn't the problem. I'm glad your children were born without complications."

Both dragons kept silent, accepting his words as blessings.

"Now, you should know that I obtained the power to share the void element with other beings."

Ruminona's eyes opened wide. Before she could create wild ideas, Orion continued.

"I've obtained this power a week ago. I haven't been to Ormrdivin since way before that point."

"Which means that I haven't had a chance to influence this dragon's egg to turn this element."

His point was easy to understand. If he never touched the egg, how could the dragon be of the void element.

Monolavir and Ruminona looked at each other.

"Is that a coincidence?"

Orion pondered. He pondered for a few minutes while the dragons played around him.

"..."

Suddenly, a memory came to him.

"Do dragon eggs absorb magic?"

The dragons' eyes fell on him.

"Yes. They absorb the faint traces of magic in the air to grow stronger before hatching."

"The more particles they absorb, the higher the chance is that they will mutate like we did."

Explaining a part of the dragon's growing process, Ruminona sighed.

"Then I should apologize."

Rubbing the back of his neck, Orion appeared uncomfortable.

"The time I visited you and checked on your eggs... When I left the nest, I warped away."

Monolavir played back the situation in his head before giving his opinion.

"The particles of void energy you've released were absorbed by this egg. Is it what you're trying to say?"

Orion nodded.

"I'm sorry. It definitely is my fault. I don't know how to make it up to you."

Blaming himself for this event, he lowered his head. But to the dragons, this was enough.

"If you weren't actively messing with our children, I cannot accept this apology."

Ruminona nodded.

"I jumped to conclusions hastily, but I should have known you weren't responsible for this."

"As a mother, I apologize for blaming you. Our instinct is to always protect our young."

The reason they understood was that Orion hadn't voluntarily influenced the eggs. It only happened because of circumstances.

Normally, a dragon doesn't chance elements because of the one surrounding them.

A blue dragon of the water element laying a dragon egg in a volcano wouldn't suddenly find themselves with a red dragon as a baby.

It was the same train of thought that made this matter trivial.

Maybe the void magic rewrote the genetic code of this dragon while it was in its egg. It was difficult to guess.

Nonetheless, it wasn't his fault.

"I understand that. This is still a major blunder on my side. Anything could have happened to this baby dragon because of it."

Watching the three babies rub their heads against him, Monolavir and Ruminona slightly smiled.

"Let's forget about it. The fact that our children were able to hatch is more important. Whatever they are, they are our young ones."

"I'm happy for you."

Orion smiled, feeling a little overwhelmed by the baby dragons surrounding him.

...

"I want to see!"

"Yes! It's not fair that you were the only one to see them!"

"Not yet. Wait a bit longer."

After returning home, the rest of the family had gathered at the portal hub.

Tetra and Amelia were fawning over the baby dragons in their heads, imagining them from Orion's descriptions, while the man himself told them to hold back.

Standing in front of the destroyed portal hub, he crossed his arms.

"I suppose it's time to rebuild the building from scratch."

Deveralna brought a finger under her chin and spoke an idea that came to mind.

"Wouldn't it be better to move the portal that leads to Ormrdivin? If a dragon decides to cross it like they did today, the new building will not hold that either."

"Even if you build it larger, it would be a waste of space."

Nodding, Orion agreed to her proposition.

"I was considering that. The portal to Ormrdivin should be placed somewhere close to their habitat."

Olivia instantly answered.

"The mountains, then?"

"Yes. There's nowhere else it could be placed. If dragons were to come to Horizon, we shouldn't fear any conflicts between them and the griffon."

Considering any potential trouble, Orion pondered a bit more.

"Well, dragons are mostly pacifist. You shouldn't have problems with them coexisting alongside other mountain dwellers."

Orianne, who followed because of the commotion, explained what she knew. Though pretty much anyone knew that around here.

"That's true. I'll move the portal later."

Orion snapped his fingers and removed the portal leading to Ormrdivin. Deleting only the one in Horizon, he only needed to place it somewhere else to reconnect the two again.

With his other hand, he made the tablet appear in the air.

He grabbed it and pressed a few spots.

"Thanks to Amelia's continuous help in feeding the system with elements, we already have the material needed to build a new building."

"In fact..."

He turned to Amelia with a frown.

"You've done too much. There's enough to build five hundred houses in this thing."

Tapping the tablet with his other hand, he stared at her.

"Ha... Haha~"

Scratching the back of her head with a bead of sweat rolling down her cheek, she looked away.

"Considering the time I was away, it should've at least been enough for twenty buildings. But whatever."

"Let's say that it helped you train properly."

He walked toward her and brought the tablet to her face.

"I leave it to you. My sense of aesthetic isn't the same as yours, and I fear it would turn out the same as before."

"Use whatever you want. Once it's done, I'll recalibrate everything."

Amelia received the tablet with a nod.

"Can I have everyone's help?"

She turned around and looked at everyone. With no hesitation, the entire family gathered to build a new portal hub.

Orion took this chance to remain and observe, using this chance to learn more about construction.

That same day, early in the morning.

"Is this the right portal?"

A woman wearing a maid outfit stood in front of a portal.

Before the entire mess that was brought by Ruminona smashing the hub into pieces, someone entered the portal to Logran, the beastmen village remotely hidden in the south.

With hesitation, she stepped into the portal.
