All the women being in a relationship with Orion were sitting around the dining table, a grave look on their faces.
"Amelia, why did you call us?"
The one who break the silence ended up being Dramia, who was unable to endure this awkward situation.
Amelia crossed her arms and looked down, hiding her eyes under her bangs.
"Karteira and I... we both have a request."
"I have a bad feeling about this..."
May could feel trouble coming just by hearing her tone.
"This will not be a request, isn't it? You're going to ask something horrible again..."
Already giving up, Deveralna hide her face between her hands.
Senia kept silent, thinking that she would probably be exempted of that request, but she was definitely not prepared.
The only one who couldn't care less was Drania, who was barely listening, poking her sister's side occasionally, making her angry in the process.
"I'm not training with you, you hear me? What you're doing is dangerous for us!"
Even if she was making progress, May couldn't hope to do the same as Amelia. This was a death sentence instantly.
'Who would throw themselves under a lightning bolt only to get stronger! Mad woman!'
It was what all of them thought, except Olivia and Senia, who did not see the madness.
"Who knows, maybe it isn't that bad? We should at least listen to what she has to say."
A pile of paper next to her, Olivia said while reading one of them.
Karteira and Amelia looked at each other and nodded. Amelia slammed her hands on the table and stood up.
"Can someone else take over us at night?!"
"..."
A long silence followed her words. They blankly stared at her with their mouths wide open. Even Drania, who was known to be a free-spirit by now, looked at her with a shocked expression.
"Th-Thats..."
Deveralna looked at Amelia, who seemed serious about it. Then, she looked at Karteira, and noticed her blushing while looking down at her hands under the table.
They were all shocked beyond belief, but most of all, they understood one thing.
'Orion... is he that good?!'
While this was a good thing to know, a scary feeling took over them. Instantly, they all shook their heads.
"No!"
"I don't think so, sorry!"
Both Dramia and Drania refused instantly. The pink blush on their cheeks showed how embarrassed they were.
"I-I... can I refuse too?"
Senia lifted her hand shyly, her eyes closed. She was definitely not ready for this yet.
"..."
Deveralna looked at her body, before shaking her head with regret. She was probably the only one who wasn't embarrassed about the conversation.
"I don't think he will like sleeping with a lamia. I'll pass."
Feeling eyes on her, she looked around. All of them were staring daggers at her.
"Try first before instantly rejecting the idea. Aren't lamias supposed to mate with humans?"
Going straight for the kill, Amelia destroyed her worries on the spot.
"If I recall correctly, didn't Orion compliment you the first time he saw you? Isn't that good enough for you?"
"I'm pretty sure you have no reason to feel that self-conscious about your tail."
Amelia was giving her honest opinion while trying to at least get one of the surrounding women to accept her request.
"..."
Seemingly thinking, Amelia let her be for now. She looked at the next in line, Olivia.
"I'm not ready for that yet."
"Oh? You're quite composed for someone who cried because we've found her kissing Orion behind our back."
Olivia twitched slightly, and placed the paper she was holding back on the pile with trembling hands. She wasn't composed at all.
"You're the most hungry of us, but you won't go for the opportunity? That is strange."
Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
She was trying to provoke the youngest of the group by speaking the truth.
"Not yet. Compared to you, I don't have many memories with him. I haven't gone anywhere, and I barely talked to him"
"I don't want to just have s-sex, and then nothing else."
The others nodded, even Amelia. In fact, she was a little sorry for her because she joined only a month ago.
With barely any time for herself, she failed to find a moment to be with Orion alone, leading to this weird relationship.
But she wasn't alone. The others certainly had moments alone with him, but they were far from being 'dates'.
May ending up being stuck with Orion in the elemental realm wasn't much of a date, and training was barely counted as a heart-to-heart moment.
From the group, May, Deveralna, Senia, and Olivia still wanted to have a proper day alone with him, freed of their constant struggles.
"And you, May?"
"I..."
Amelia already knew the answer. From the group, she was the one most self-conscious about her situation.
Being a walking corpse, she felt unworthy of such a thing. That was why, Amelia stopped acting and calmed down.
"Well, don't worry about it too much. When you feel ready, go for it. I did not ask that to make you uncomfortable or anything like that."
"Sure, we both think that our body will not be able to hold much longer if we do that every night, still, we are not forcing anyone."
Both Karteira and Amelia nodded, making everyone feel better about the situation.
"What we can't promise, is that Orion himself will ignore you and focus on us. If he catches you... it's on you to be mentally prepared."
With a shrugged, she placed a lot of stress on them. They knew she was right, too, because it actually happened.
Orion returned from Noctelagia, and without any kind of warning, snatched Amelia, completely redefining their relationship.
"So, I take it none of you is going to join us? I had hoped at least one would, but I guess that was too ea-"
"I'll do it."
Breaking from her thoughts, Deveralna nodded and cut Amelia.
"Oh!"
Knowing that Deveralna would be taking a night for herself made it more bearable for the two struggling women who weren't yet used to his stamina.
"I was thinking..."
The lamia looked at Senia, before speaking her mind.
"If Orion truly desires us, half-beasts, then maybe Senia will feel better about herself."
"Heh?"
Senia returned her gaze, showing that this was indeed on her mind from the strained expression on her face.
"I know you feel that too. We are far from being 'normal', like everyone else around this table."
Even May, who was like this, was still human. Karteira and the twins too, being fairies, wasn't much of a problem, as they looked very similar to normal human women.
"You're... right. This was on my mind too."
Amelia suddenly joined the conversation.
"I think you two are worrying about nothing. I'm not saying that this is not a legitimate concern, though. I just feel that at this point, it's weird to question's Orion's taste for women."
"Why?"
Dramia asked, curious.
"What is the first thing Orion complimented you on?"
"..."
They all fell in deep thoughts, even Karteira.
"Your eyes, isn't it?"
"!"
'She's right!'
Suddenly, everything made sense.
"Beautiful eyes, that's what Orion is most attracted to. That's what made him chose you in the end."
With a nod, their worries vanished for good.
"Alright, that settles it. Deveralna, please do your best tonight."
"I'll try."
...
Orion was on his way back, but chose to not warp directly home. Instead, he had decided to walked all the way from the village to his home.
He still had a fight schedule for later, but now, he wanted some time alone to piece everything Tiohr-nam explained earlier.
-
"Your body is rapidly transforming. In fact, it is already showing signs."
"Transforming? Into what? Am I losing my human form?"
The Avatar shook its head.
"I am not talking about your physique, but about your inner parts, your soul."
She pointed at her chest.
"Do you remember what I have told you about us Remnants? How do we function?"
Orion nodded and answered.
"You have multiple magic reservoirs that act as lives. They can resurrect you at the cost of most of your memories."
"Yes. For Remnants besides me, that is the case. Since I completely trust you, I will go into more details."
The Avatar glowed, before its pupils displayed the leaf sigil in them.
"Remnants are children of Valkyries. Most of them cannot remember because they died multiple times already. You have heard that from Tia and Enri, right?"
With a silent nod, Orion confirmed her question.
"We all possess a dominion over a set of natural orders. Those were gifted to us after... losing everything."
"As you have probably realized, it is incredibly difficult to control where or when these attributes will manifest themselves. Silka's sigil in your body is the proof."
Orion understood because he had no control over it. Though, he wanted nothing to do with a Remnant's power to begin with.
"So, what does this have to do with my changes?"
Tiohr-nam closed her eyes and sighed.
"You will not like this, but you show signs of becoming a Remnant."
His hands, placed on the chair's arms, twitched. He clenched his fists and destroyed the arms.
"Is this a joke?"
"Are you angry?"
"Not particularly toward you, since you've got nothing to do with it."
"Which means you are... I am terribly sorry the answer ended up being this. Yet, this probably just a resemblance."
Orion's mood returned to neutral as he kept listening.
"When I look at your whole status, there are blanks here and there, where things should be written. Nature herself is supposed to make things fair for everyone, but for you, it is ever-changing."
"You still possess the title of 'Second Hero', this has not changed. But there seems to be more under, which I cannot read."
Her vision turned black, as an incredible amount of information poured in front of her concerning Orion flooded her sight.
"Inside your soul, there are now three relatively big magical reservoirs. They do not fill like in my case, and are still fairly small compared to mine, too. Nevertheless, having multiple magic storage is what makes a Remnant what it is."
"You should ponder a bit on it, but do not get stuck on that fact. This could mean many things because you are a one of a kind individual, who had never seen the light of dawn until recently."
"Know that of the three reservoirs in your soul, only one is a third filled. The other two are empty, or slightly filled with magic. I have no idea what that means to you, but it is best to tell you."
-
The conversation ended there.
'My parents aren't Remnants. I probably have no Remnant blood in me either.'
'I haven't inherited a title and don't possess any kind of dominion of worldly aspects.'
Orion was thinking while looking at the surrounding scenery. Everything has changed greatly since creating Horizon.
Thanks to Amelia's hard work in creating matter, and Tiohr-nam's power to bring life to this plane, his realm was flourishing with nature.
The many animals he had brought were already beginning to populate the small patched of trees and fields all over the place.
'If I'm not becoming a Remnant, then what am I becoming?'
He stared at his fingers and clenched his fists.
Feeling like usual, he was questioning his state.
'The storage in my soul...'
Thinking about it, he realized that the only clue he had about himself was his recent transformation.
*Flash*
His body transformed into the angel form in the blink of an eye, before two angel wings stretched majestically on both sides.
After closing his eyes, he linked the two information together.
'The three reservoirs are probably the amount of magic I can use for each element I possess.'
'Light is the only one I can use like this yet. If I improve my control over the other two, can I fill them more?'
He released his transformation, returning to normal. With a nod, he returned to walking.
'I know what I need to do now.'
