Blue hair as transparent as crystal, a bluish hue replacing the pearl color of her eyes, and a skin as white as snow.
A thin light blue veil starting at her hips dropped down to the back of her knees. She was surrounded by bubbles of various sizes, and particles of ice, making the whole scene surreal.
To add to her transformation, she had horns similar to a dragon on her head made of clear ice. It was very different to the form taken when fusing with her fire element.
Dana, the water dagger, also went through some changes. The dagger became so clear, devoid of impurities, that it was hard to discern its shape.
The hilt, which was made of ice, became transparent, while the blade itself that was made of water became thinner, but sharper.
Amelia became the first human to use a mutated element in the history of Triazils.
Kelvin, who had lost most of his reason at this point, was growling like a wild beast while his eyes shone brightly red.
Recovering his balance, he was ready to jump at Amelia again.
"A dragon's strength."
She looked at her free hand and opened it and closed it multiple times.
"Let me show you what it is."
'Monolavir, I'll avenge your children.'
'So help me get revenge for my mother.'
Dana in hand, Amelia rushed toward the enemy in front of her. She had mixed feelings about the situation.
'I don't know if I should hate this man for what he did to my mother, or thank him for giving me the opportunity to know Orion.'
She internally smiled.
'Why not both?'
'I'm not that greedy.'
'Then what do you prefer?'
Ego asked, as Amelia's blade made contact with Kelvin's sword. As an exchange of rapid slashes and stabs happened, she made her choice.
'Every actions has a consequences. Blood for blood. This situation happened because of his choices, not mine.'
Amelia slashed Dana vertically, and slashed Kelvin's sword, his fire, and his chest at the same time.
Though very shallow, she managed to cut him enough that it made him back off.
"Grr... Gr. F-Fuck... I'm losing control of my actions again!"
He punched himself in the gut to force his mind to focus.
"Not this time. I'll make it through..."
Looking at his broken sword, he threw it on the side.
"My mind is hazy, my vision is foggy, and my chest is heating up. Isn't this situation funny?"
These words were directed at Amelia this time.
"What's so funny?"
Her face showed a very disdainful expression. She wasn't finding this fight funny at all.
"The hateful daughter of the sole woman I desired came to hunt me down. How can I not find that funny?"
"I thought I had killed you, as there was not even a body to recover, but yet you survived. You definitely have Henrietta's features, so I'm not mistaken. Also, who would chose this kind of place without knowing the truth behind it?"
"You always were a thorn in my plans. Every single time I tried to get her to notice me, she turned to you! A mere child! A stupid baby! How do you think I've felt being rejected for that reason?!"
Amelia face never changed. She really didn't want to listen to this man anymore, but she stayed her hand.
"I should have killed you at the very first opportunity I had, and kidnap Henrietta! Like this, everything would have been perfect!"
The craziness was slowly returning. Those were the words of a madman, and it disgusted Amelia to no end.
Even Orion was holding his hand. Though, he began to doubt if those words came from the man himself, or from the corruption warping his mind.
The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.
"You can stop there. I don't need to hear it anymore."
"I get it, you hate me. It's fine, I hate you too. Let's break this hateful link we have between each other, so that I can finally make my mother rest peacefully."
Her gaze darkened.
"I can't believe you remained unpunished all this time even thought you've destroyed a whole town..."
"Your arrogance, I will pulverize it alongside you flesh!"
He shouted these words, before rushing toward Amelia again.
"It's the pot calling the kettle black."
Amelia shook her head in disapproval.
"You're the one way too arrogant. This will be your downfall."
Amelia pointed Dana in front of her. The bubbles around began to absorb the ice particles around them, and before long, she pronounce the name of a new ability.
"Frost Needles."
Each bubbles threw thin needles of ice toward the approaching Kelvin. A rain of needles fell on him.
He clenched his fists, opened his arms wide on his sides, and forced the hottest fire he was able to muster to defend himself.
Most of the needles melted, though some managed to hit his legs and arms. They were very tiny, and pretty solid at that, and to top it off, they were freezing cold. They were able to cause tremendous damage by causing a frostbite effect.
Luckily for him, his fire made the ice melt at some point, while negating the frostbites. Once the attack stopped, he clenched his fists and focused his element there.
Two large swords of fire emerged from his clenched fists, ready to strike Amelia down.
"That won't help you."
A second Dana appeared her other hand. It was a pale copy of the original, holding no real power. It was closer to a sculpture.
She prepared herself to receive the strike head-on.
The four blades made contact, creating mist around them from the difference in temperature.
'Hmm.'
Amelia looked at the copy of Dana slowly melt. As she noticed that, she also noticed that Kelvin was about to pull the same move as before. He was about to pull on sword to stab her stomach.
'This guy. Did you never learn not to do the same attack twice?'
Amelia carefully observed with 'Calm Analysis'.
Kelvin pulled his right blade, sliding it on Amelia's, and went for a stab.
'Now!'
Right before the blade touched her, she rotated her body counter-clockwise, lowered her arms to make him lose his balance, and slashed downward vertically with both daggers.
Dana's copy got stuck on the bone, but that wasn't the case for the real water/ice dagger.
"A-Aghh!"
One of the fire sword dissipated in the air, while Kelvin's left hand fell on the ground.
He tried to kick Amelia away, but she had already made some distance between them. Stabbing the remaining fire sword into the ground, he watch his bleeding arm.
"Shit!"
After cursing, he gritted his teeth, before pressing the injured arm on the fire without hesitation.
"AAAAH!"
'What a madman... did he just cauterize his injury on the spot?'
Amelia was bewildered for a second, but immediately returned to the offensive.
'No time to lose! I'll take any opportunity I get!'
"Frost Needles!"
As he was reeling in pain, his eyes flashed bright red, and he dropped low on the ground like an animal.
"Grrr."
'Here it is again. Just a bit more.'
Amelia slashed a few times to create water blades that went toward him. He easily dodged them, grabbed is fire sword with his remaining hand, and rushed toward her.
"Verglas."
The ground around Amelia began to turned transparent. In fact, a thin layer of ice was being spread all around her, making the ground slippery.
To counter the lack of mobility, Kelvin stabbed is sword in the ground and used it as a stepping stone to jump on Amelia.
'You fool...'
"Ice Spike."
Amelia stomped her foot on the ice, making water emerge in high quantity toward the falling Kelvin. As he tried to attack from above, the water solidified into pure ice, ready to impale him.
Realizing too late that this was dangerous, Kelvin still tried. He pointed his palm toward Amelia, and released many fire needles, similar to what Amelia did before.
'Sure, try that too.'
'Dana, a water wall, please.'
In front of her, a thick curved water wall appeared to intercept the fire needles.
They created little explosion when they made contact with the water, but besides causing some hearing pain, they did nothing.
The wall vanished, and Amelia looked at Kelvin falling on the ground after grazing his left side with the icy spike.
'Why is he... so weak?'
Amelia was confused. But in fact, it was very simple. Kelvin was a very powerful knight, but that was before losing his reason.
The moment the corruption manipulated him, and he began to fight back, he lost his edge. Currently, he was closer to a wild beast, or a corrupted beast.
And they knew how easy it was to kill a corrupted beast at this point.
'Is that one of the strongest Apostles?'
"Don't make me laugh!"
Her disdain toward him only grew further.
"Stand up. Fight! Show me the strength that erased my mother from this world!"
With her hatred directed in full at Kelvin, her blue eyes glistened.
"So that I can show you how pitiful your true power is!"
Kelvin, with his right leg partially crippled, a missing left hand, and his left side profusely bleeding, was beginning to understand.
That like this, he wouldn't return home alive.
"Y-You little..."
"Little shit? I know. Find something else."
This was the last straw for him. The pain was too much, and he was unable to see correctly anymore.
Amelia had hurt his body, and his mind too much. So, he let go. He released his control over the corruption in his body, just like he did twenty-two years ago.
'I'm not sure I'll return from it this time. But I'll die anyway if I don't.'
He closed his eyes, and the man known as Kelvin finally draw his last breath.
The corruption finally managed to overtake his being, and his body began to mutate instantly.
In the middle of his chest, a massive cores ripped his skin open from the cut Amelia did earlier.
A smaller one appeared on his right leg, ripping his pants from the increase in size, and the last one...
The now husk of Kelvin opened his eyes. Here was the last core, his right eye.
His injuries healed, and a new hand appeared where it was missing, dark in color.
"Great. Truly, that was great."
Now a Corrupted Lord, the husk clapped his hands and rejoiced.
"You've managed to break that man's spirit, and I finally managed to take over. Really, like mother, like daughter."
The being laughed crazily.
Amelia stood still, focused. But inside, she was bewildered.
'Since when the corrupted are able to talk?!'
Even Orion, in the distance, was in shock.
This was a new discovery. Something he really didn't want to learn about.
The next phase of the corruption.
"Alright, girl. Time for round two."
A massive explosion engulfed Amelia.
