Chapter 270: The birth of new elementals.

After Orion removed the corruption from the elemental on May's nape, she began to clearly hear their voices.

The voices of multiple elementals asking for the prisms to be used.

"The magic... Release it..."

"Bring the new elementals to life..."

"A new order..."

Partial sentences came through the vortex. Those voices were similar to the ones she heard in the elemental cave, but more fleshed out. In fact, since the vortex connected Horizon to that cave, it was definitely their voices.

She turned to look at Orion, who was clenching the hand used to erase the corruption. He seemed to be in thinking.

"Are you alright?"

Concerned, she couldn't help herself but ask.

"Hmm? I am. This much doesn't cause any problem, just making sure."

Once done with his own check-up, he smiled.

"I was told not to go overboard with my use of magic. If I do, I might get scolded."

May didn't knew that he was talking about Tiohr-nam, thinking that it would be Amelia.

"Thanks. You've helped me again."

"I won't let anything happen to you, so it's fine. So, how are you feeling now?"

He gave his hand for her to grab on. When she grabbed it, he helped May stand up. She wiped her behind quickly before staring at him.

"I can hear their voices now. The corruption was interfering it seems."

"As I thought."

Noticing her expression when she heard them previously, he made a guess, which was correct.

"Can you translate then? Do we have a clue about what to do?"

Determined to deal with the vortex, Orion took on a serious face.

"Probably. They said something about the prisms, to release the magic inside them."

"To bring the new elements to life."

She nodded, a bit worried.

"They're speaking of a 'new order'."

"..."

Orion walked toward the altar at the center, where the massive white pearl was sitting on. On each sides of the triangular altar, around the pearl, three prisms of various shapes were stuck into their designed notches.

Three beams, light, dark, and void, were being sent to the white pearl, which in turn, was sent to the vortex above.

"From the looks of it, we cannot use the void prism."

He looked carefully at the three vessels.

Pure light magic had been nurtured inside the tetrahedron shaped prism. Inside the cylinder one, the darkness was so prominent it was close to an abyssal darkness.

But compared to those two, the void magic, who took hold of the torus shaped prism, only amounted to a few glistening stars inside of it. The prism definitely needed more time to mature the magic inside of it.

"What do we do then? I would have suggested to destroy the prism, though the vortex would shut down as a result. This is definitely not the right course of action."

"I don't know, the moment I said that I could hear them, the voices died down."

May joined him, her eyes anchored on the bright white pearl.

Not knowing how the next step was bothering Orion. So, he began to think.

"We can't remove them either, that would disrupt the beam."

"That leaves us with very little choices."

Confirming the situation, May walked around the altar.

'They are elementals, birthed from magic. A new order, but of what?'

As she thought that, Orion seemed to arrive to the answer.

You might be reading a pirated copy. Look for the official release to support the author.

"They want us to birth the light and dark elements ourselves. Well, mainly me. You were needed to tell me that."

"Is that right? Birthing new elements?"

"Yes, and for that, I might need to concentrate a little. Give me a moment."

He had no idea how to proceed. Birthing these elements, when only awakened them was a brand new trial.

'These elementals sure know how to turn everything into a challenge.'

With a smile on his face as he closed his eyes, he remembered something that happened with Velridar.

Orion began to feel the magic coming from the prisms. From his hands, threads of light and dark magic flowed toward them. These threads were on the same wavelength as his own magic, making the work easier.

The light element's threads moved toward the tetrahedron, while the dark threads moved toward the cylinder.

"Incredible..."

In awe, May stood there, watching the thin threads approaching the prisms.

Everything went smoothly until now. The threads wrapped around the prisms and began to form a layer around them.

*Thump*

A violent heartbeat, coming from the tetrahedron, shook the whole space. It surprised every inhabitants of Horizon. May and Orion, who were both close to the source, gasped for air.

The pulse traversed their body and forced the air out of their lungs, and as they breathed again, another heartbeat echoed, coming from the cylinder prism.

*Thump*

It was as strong as the first one. Orion clenched his teeth, while May placed her hands on the altar to avoid falling down.

They couldn't force a single words out of their mouth.

With his eyes still closed, he focused on his hands, slowly sending magic through the thread. He felt that this was the best way to do it.

*

To birth an element into the world, other than it being created inside of someone, it needed to be cleaned of impurities.

The prisms were used to seal that element, who would then grow by itself in an enclosed environment. Once the element had matured enough inside the prism, it would then require the help of the person having created it, or let time transform it to a full fledge element.

While the first option was quite impossible to do without us, the elementals, the second option was a lengthy but sure process. It would require thousands of years for it to grow alone from the prism.

That was how the elements came to life. Through the elementals, who were born with these, and grew enough to release them as magic.

*

These words echoed in Orion's mind. As he worked on the prisms, the elementals talked to him. Not naturally, but through a tale. As if a memory of the world played in front of him, Orion saw his world develop inside his head.

Five elements appeared in his mind.

*

Fire. The very definition of danger. As dangerous as it is, without it, life would be sustained at all. The sun every living being sees, is fire itself. It push life to flourish, and without it, only the endless cold remains.

It can injure, but also heal you. A very strong and valiant heart usually nurture a strong fire.

*

A different voice continued in place of the previous one.

*

Lightning. A wild and unpredictable phenomenon. Its power in terms of destruction is unfathomable, as anything struck by it is destroyed. It is a rare event, but instill fear into the heart of all beings.

In exchange for its tremendous energy, a sacrifice is asked. A courageous and lively person ends up being the brightest lightning bolt.

*

The voice changed again.

*

Water. Everything in this world depend on water. Without it, plants would wither, animals would dry to death, and everything would turn to be a desert. The seas, the lakes, the rivers, everything creates a balance for life to thrive around it.

It can remain calm, or be agitated. Someone who understands tranquility, but tirelessly works for a better tomorrow become the tallest wave.

*

And again.

*

Wind. Air that flows around the world. It created lives, but can also take it away. Sometimes violent, sometimes peaceful, nonetheless irreplaceable. It sees everything, and moves many things. Plants would have disappeared without its constant working.

The dangers of the wind should never be underestimated. Someone with playfulness in their heart, and unyielding emotions becomes the strongest tempest.

*

One last voice ended the tale.

*

Earth. The all mother that let the living beings of this world walk on her. She is everywhere, in everything, in every form. Rocks, dirt, metals, everything is birthed from her, and shall return to her. She is the most important, as without her, even us would not exist.

But even her can be dangerous. Earthquakes, fissures, volcanoes. Like a pebble dreaming of taking flight, a kind soul, sometimes too trustful, led to great achievements defines an person loved by the earth.

*

All voices died down. Orion finally regained to control of his thoughts.

'What was all of that? I saw... the elementals? No. That was more like the elements themselves interacting with our world.'

'Or is our world made from the elements? But is it even possible?'

While questions after questions popped in his head, the birth of two new elements was progressing normally.

'The world existed before the elements. That is something obvious. So, the elementals were birthed from those elements, before it turned to become magic?'

'This is confusing. I will have to think more about it later.'

*THUMP*

This time, Orion was forced to open his eyes. A louder pulse echoed from the prisms, awakening him from his thoughts.

'This is it...'

Excitation began to show on his face. The layer of threads around the prisms began to glow with bright light and terrifying darkness.

*

Time as come. The advent of two new elements is upon us.

It will bring forth a new age for elementals. New children will open their heart, and with it, many people will bear the mark of the light and the dark elements.

What will the world do with our children, we are interested. Now, come forth.

*

The threads began to rip one by one, until every single thread was torn off.

Orion blinked a few times while watching a small but growing spot above both prisms.

*

Now, open a portal. Bridge the worlds.

*

As instructed, Orion opened a portal above the altar, leading to Triazils. The exact place was inside the Dead White forest, to avoid terrifying people.

*BOOM*

Two beams erupted from the prisms, directly into the portal. The violent released of magic forced Orion to warp next to May and grab her shoulder so she wouldn't be pushed away toward the wall.

Even him had a hard time not sliding on the floor.

The pulsing power kept pushing, again and again. The more it pushed him, the more Orion felt something in his soul.

Something was returning to him. His powers were finally returning. The light enhancement and the various ailment inflicting arrows were able to be used once again.

The beams continued to travel inside the portal. Outside of Horizon, in Triazils, these two beams traveled high in the sky, and disintegrated completely, out of everyone's eyes.

Particles of these pure elements were released into the Triazils, awakening two new forms of elementals that never existed beforehand.

As the elementals said, a new order of elements was beginning, with Orion at its center.
