Orion brought both Karteira and the crate to their house.
After watching the bashful woman return into the house, he turned around.
'Seven more to go.'
His gaze turned toward the Tree of Life, spreading to his right, further away in the distance.
'I met Nia and Mia shortly after entering the fairy realm.'
Recalling his first meeting with the twins, his wings fluttered lightly.
"Alright."
Leaving not even a cloud of dust behind, Orion warped into the entrance of the fairies' manor, where Titania chose to live alone since recovering her mobility.
As usual, Motirion, the Queens' aid, was inside. Cleaning the place, he suddenly dropped everything in shock as Orion warped at the entrance.
"!"
*Clatter*
"O-Orion?"
"That would be me."
With a smirk, Orion walked up to the human-looking moth.
"My apologies. I wasn't nearly as ready to witness such an entrance."
"I don't blame you. Here, let me help you."
He picked up the broom and gave it back to Motirion.
"Most appreciated."
Giving a nod to the man, Orion continued inside the place, going up the stairs.
After knocking at the door of the top floor, he entered.
"Hi."
Closing the door behind him, he looked inside the room.
"Your visit is quite impromptu, but welcome anyway."
Sitting on a throne in front of the wide open bark of the Tree of Life, Titania looked at him with her legs crossed, her head held by her right hand.
"You look bored."
He walked past the table, where the twins were discussing something.
They were so engrossed in it that they failed to notice his presence.
"There is nothing for me to do. Since evolving, they became even more proactive in improving the fairies' lives."
She sighed.
"To the extent where I have nothing to point out. You made them perfect."
Stopping in front of her, he turned to look at his soon-to-be brides.
"I tell you, we should talk this out with Kamala!"
"I never said the contrary, but maybe we should send some of our armed force with them, just to be certain."
"You're always like this, sis! She said Hocride was fine now, so why don't you trust her?"
Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.
"Because one wrong move and everything will come crumbling down. She's a responsible person, so if anything happens, it'll be difficult to actually come to an agreement over what to do."
"Well... You're right. I have nothing to argue there."
Nia scratched the back of her head while sounding discouraged.
Orion placed his hand on the table, leaning next to her.
"Are you discussing sending the fairies to Hocride?"
"Orion?!"
Both looked at him with frightened expressions.
He seemingly came out of nowhere. Their gazes turned toward Titania, who shrugged.
"Just so you know, he entered a few moments ago."
"Is that so?"
Both calmed their emotions immediately. They breathed the last of their surprise and turned to him.
"Did you need something from us?"
Orion smiled while looking at Mia, who spoke with the tone he was expecting.
Neither cold nor overly warm. It was a great improvement compared to before.
But most of all, he couldn't help but look at her intently.
"W-What?"
Crossing her arms while lowering her face, she glared at him.
"I'm simply happy to see you. Is that a bad thing?"
He looked at Nia, who waited in silence.
'Before, she would have made a scene, but now, she's matured.'
Both evolved into Dryads, the true successors of the Remnant of Life. As much as Orion liked them before, their bodies were rather on the childish side.
He couldn't help but see them in a non-romantic way before.
But now, with a more mature appearance and mentality, he had no reason to see them differently.
They were, after everything considered, his partners.
Their build was slightly different, which directly struck him down. With bodies closer to their mid-twenties, their overall mood also felt different.
Mia was less cold and far more calculating than her previous self. Nia, on the other hand, relinquished most of her childishness and took on a slightly more serious approach.
What was most shocking to Orion was that they had entirely cast away their regrets. They chose to live alongside him, for better or for worse, until the very end.
And that was all he needed to know. With a steady movement, he placed his hand on Nia's head and caressed her hair.
"I have something to tell you. But first..."
He walked away from Nia and stood at the place the host would sit and placed two small boxes on the table.
Then he turned around and looked at Titania.
"I know you aren't exactly their mother, but I will ask nonetheless."
Bending his upper body forward, he asked Titania, who looked at him with a smile on her face.
"Can I marry both of them? I promise to make them happy."
"I will take you to your word. If I hear anything happened to them, you will not get away with it."
Entwining her fingers over her thighs, Titania stared at the twins, who were staring at his back, their mouths widely opened.
Slowly, their gazes fell toward the small compartment, almost whispering for them to open their coverings.
Straightening with a determined look, Orion nodded at Titania.
"I'll put my life on the line to make them happy. They went through a lot, and I want to make it up to them."
"And nothing will stop me."
As he turned around, he opened both boxes.
Inside were seemingly two similar rings. They were born from the purest melted silver and designed with a leaf pattern in mind.
Again, the main distinction was the gemstone embedded over the ring.
For Mia, the gemstone embedded in the ring was a piece of emerald. It was semitransparent, which was a sign of high quality. Not only that, but its vibrant green was breathtaking.
Watching Orion pull the ring out of its storage shocked her. She instinctively gasped after seeing the shiny layer around the ring.
At the same time, he brought Nia's ring out. She stared at the ring with no thoughts as the translucent pale brown gem reflected in her eyes.
A dazzling brown enstatite, known to be one of the minerals that descended from space in the form of a meteorite, was etched perfectly over the ring, shaped in an octagon.
"We've been through a lot in the past. Literally."
Orion smiled while holding both rings between his fingers.
"I was witness to your resolve. The choices you made and the bravery you took upon yourselves."
"After all of this, would you accept this?"
Presenting them to the twins, he waited.
For a long while, the sisters looked at each other with dumbfounded looks.
They were arguing over the future of the fairies a few minutes ago, and suddenly, they were thrown into a marriage proposal.
But as soon as they stared at Orion's smile, a memory sealed in their minds forever surfaced.
After thousands of years of avoiding the past, the memory of their family, smiling together, and going through life flashed at the same time in front of them.
The family they lost and the family they gained.
Both layered over each other before forming only one picture.
"Yes!"
Together, they extended their left hands toward him.
Smiling warmly, Titania watched the greatest man she ever knew slide a ring around her 'daughters' fingers.
The first one to sit down was Mia. Staring at the ring warmly, she watched her reflection on the emerald's surface.
Nia, on the other hand, grabbed Orion's collar and pulled his face closer to hers.
"You better make us happy."
Giving a quick peck on his lips, she retreated to her seat right after with a big grin.
Seeing that Mia was still overly fixated on the ring, Orion placed his hand next to her and leaned down.
With his other hand, he went behind her back and pushed her chin lightly.
Gently, he kissed his fourth wife, who accepted it willingly.
"Incredible..."
Titania lifted an eyebrow at Mia's reaction. The overly cold Queen was putty in front of Orion.
"That's just how she is. She's a big softy inside. You know it, too, don't you?"
Mia's eyes opened wide as she pushed Orion's face away.
"What nonsense are you spewing? I'm not-"
"You are grinning..."
Pointing out Mia's expression, Titania closed her eyes while placing her cheek in her palm. She enjoyed every part of the teasing that followed.
Touching her face, Mia suddenly blushed.
"Aaaa~h! Damn it!"
As Orion left the room nonchalantly, he listened to the twins.
"Of course I'm happy! Who wouldn't be in this situation?!"
"Well, I'm happy, too."
In a great mood, Orion closed the door and warped back to his house.
...
Scratching his cheek, Orion pondered.
'The next one will be a pain, isn't it?'
As he kneeled in the grass, white fur stretched next to his leg, asking to be pet.
"What do you think, Sirius?"
"Woof!"
Shaking his tail, the faithful dog of the family barked as Orion ruffled his fur.
Not far, Procyon entered his vision. She had been a huge help, caring for the balance of the realm. Hunting the overflowing grazers, a balance was brought forth in Horizon.
It also helped Orion with his provision of meat and fur, which he could sell at any moment.
"Want to come with me? You haven't been outside Horizon much, isn't it?"
Sirius looked toward Procyon.
"Don't worry. I'll make her come along."
The dog snarled as if to say that it was obvious.
"Haha~ You've been acting more unruly since she appeared. I don't dislike it, though."
Even now, every fiber of Sirius was loyal to him. He was the greatest dog anyone could ever ask for.
"Alright. Let's go to Lahro. I need to convince Palarvina to give me her daughter's hand."
Orion sighed as he stood up.
"I fear it won't be easy."
Moving forward, Orion, Sirius, and Procyon went through the portal leading to Lahro.
