The moment Orion stepped out of the store, he opened his pocket watch.
'Hmm~ Twenty minutes. That was shorter than I was expecting.'
He waited for the sisters to catch up to him before leaving. They both seemed satisfied, even though they had bought nothing.
-
"Sis, what about that?"
"That's for you, not for me. I prefer that."
Drania was holding black pants, while Dramia picked up blue shorts and stockings.
"What about that then?"
"Maybe. I don't think it'll look good on me though."
"Ask Orion then, it should give you a good idea about your looks."
"..."
Dramia glanced toward Orion, who was moving around the shop, picking up clothes he thought would look good on them.
When he felt a gaze on him, he turned around and searched for that person. A second later, he noticed Dramia staring at him from the other side of the room.
She had clothes in her hands. While he quickly figured out what she wanted, he still went to her after placing what he had in his hands back on the shelf.
"A dress?"
He looked at the dress, which was rather well-made. It was a light green dress which had a lot of frills near the skirt, and a grass green colored ribbon in the middle of the chest.
"W-What do you think? Would I look bad in it?"
Drania looked at her sister with a smile. She was finally making progress.
"Why would you? If I had to say, it would go well with your hair."
"You think so?"
"I do."
"Alright."
With a smile, she placed the dress back on the hanger, and walked away.
"Drania."
"Yes?"
"If you plan on moving around a lot, you might want to pick up some 'easier to move in' pants. Tight pants might hinder you. You have your wings too."
"Oh, like-"
Twenty minutes went by in the blink of an eye.
-
"What now? Is it time for lunch?"
Orion closed his pocket watch. He then extended his hands to the girls. Dramia grabbed his forearm, while Drania held hands.
"I will escort you there, ladies. There was a good place nearby that seemed pretty quiet."
"That sounds promising, isn't it sis?"
"Yes. I don't like to eat with lots of people around. If it's a quiet place, I'll allow you to escort me there."
He smiled, starting to move toward his destination.
"Of course. Follow me."
...
"Are you sure pasta was enough for you?"
Worried, Drania asked him after exiting the restaurant.
"I have to agree with her this time. You could have ordered something fancier."
"Why? Aren't you you supposed to eat what you like when you eat outside?"
He made an expression of complete confusion.
"I ate well, the taste was great, and I've enjoyed my time with you while eating. I think it was a pretty good meal overall."
The twins looked at each other, perplexed, until a warm smile formed on their faces. With a slight blush, they returned by his side.
"I had a good time too."
"Me too!"
"That's great to hear."
With a nod, they returned to walk around the city.
...
After walking randomly while enjoying Albriar's sights, Orion suddenly stopped.
"What is it?"
The sisters looked at the direction he was looking at.
"That's..."
If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. Please report it.
"A weapon store, isn't it?"
They noticed his expression before he could reign over his feelings.
"It's nothing, let's contin-"
"No!"
Pulling on his arms, they stopped him from walking further.
"You're coming with us."
*sigh*
Letting out a quick sigh, Orion let himself being dragged inside the store.
'I should've known they wouldn't ignore it.'
"You know that I didn't brought you two on a date to go inside a weapon store, right?"
"We don't care! How many times are you going to ignore your own hobbies because of us?"
"She's right. I would prefer it if you also had a good memory of today."
"Sis..."
"W-What? You have a problem?"
Drania couldn't believe it. Her sister was openly hitting on him, which was showing how serious she was becoming.
'I won't lose! Though...'
She looked at Orion being dragged behind her.
"Orion, do you love us?"
"PFFFF!"
A loud noise similar to a sudden sneeze escaped Dramia's mouth. To call it sudden was an understatement.
"I mean... sorry. I didn't want to blurt that out like that."
Realizing that it was uncalled for, she fell back into her old habits, looking slightly depressed.
'That's right. I'm like that too. Sis can't be honest with herself, and I can't be positive about anything. There's no way he truly-'
"I wouldn't be here without you two."
"Eh?"
The blushing sister on his left and the depressed one on his right lifted their faces to look into his eyes.
His shining grey eyes were looking directly into their emerald eyes in turn. He straightened, and lightly pulled his arms back.
"Aah!"
The two sisters lost their balance, realizing that if he wanted to, he could have easily stopped them from proceeding forward earlier.
They ended up hugging his chest as they caught on the first thing that would stop their fall.
Orion placed his hands on their heads, and slowly began to caress the grass green colored hair of the sisters.
"At this point, there's no reason to doubt, isn't it?"
"I remember two lonely sisters sitting in front of me when I arrived in the fairy realm. They were so lonely that one of them jumped at me the moment she saw me. The other was so harsh with her words that I had to wonder if she was cold inside."
"But I also remember these two helping me. Without them, I would have made a mistake the first time I've tried to create the void element."
"Even if it was one night, we've shared stories and ideas after leaving the realm."
He continued to caress them, not giving a single care about the people around him. Only these two were important right now.
"I've seen the resolve you've taken to forgive yourself, to make peace with your own demons. This is something I wasn't able to do until recently."
"Drania's a sweet girl which prioritize everyone else's happiness over her own, to the point that she question her right to be happy too. Even though you try to hide your weakness, there will always be people to help you, like me."
"Dramia may be cold, but inside, she is always thinking about what is right for her sister and those she care about. She's also the one who feel lonely faster. Without her sister around, she's quieter."
"I like that about you two. Even if you can't always be honest, even if you continue to doubt everything about yourself, you two will always be strong. You have each other for that."
With moist eyes, they continued to look into his eyes, tightly grabbing his waist.
"And what I loved the most since meeting you two was your eyes. Those emerald eyes of yours were always looking forward, not toward the past. Even though you have a lot on your mind, you continued to walk forward. You hoped for the future to be bright, hoping for Tiohr-nam to heal."
"You've placed that hope in me, which ultimately ended up saving her. You could have followed your own path afterward, but you chose to stay around. You two are the most important friends I have made during my journey."
The word 'friend' made them twitch slightly.
"There is something I haven't told anyone. Something I am ashamed of, that I will carry with me until the day I draw my last breath."
"..."
They felt the heaviness in his words.
"During the fight against Elliott, I almost killed Karteira and Amelia. If not for Elliott, I would have strangled Amelia to death. Once I awakened, I felt that awful feeling grow in my heart, that I've been neglecting everyone."
"As usual, Amelia read me like a book."
He laughed.
"At first, I wanted to ignore yours and my own feelings, because I am... like that. I don't know if staying by my side will bring you happiness, or despair."
"But keeping you at arm's length wasn't the right answer. I wasn't paying attention to anything other than my own selfishness. I learned that the hard way."
"That's a lot of nothing, isn't it?"
Worry began to slightly distort his smile.
"No..."
Drania was the first to bring herself to talk.
"We are no better. There is still a part of us that can't forgive our past self for not saving Noah."
She stopped talking, and looked at her sister. Dramia nodded and continued.
"After losing everything, and being saved by him, we had no other choice but to follow him. After a few years, he was like a brother to us. He was always there to protect us, always here to teach us, even though his heart was somewhere else."
"Losing our second family was... heartbreaking. It left a deep void in our heart."
Hiding her face in Orion's shirt, she left the rest to Drania.
"When we returned to the dome, we finally managed to apologize to him. Slowly, that hole began to be filled. We thought it was a done deal, but it wasn't in reality."
"We thought of you. On how similar you were to Noah, on how your path was also going to be a treacherous one. A path that took his life. We refused to allow a repetition of that event."
Dramia's muffled voice entered his ears.
"Before we knew it, we were back next to you, and the more we stayed, the more our feelings developed. We hoped that nothing would happen to you..."
"But as we thought, you rushed to your own death. You knew it, and yet you still made your way toward it. We- I didn't know what to do anymore. I never wanted these feelings to begin with."
Her sister took over.
"Yet, it was too late. The man we fell in love with rushed to his last fight, not even knowing he was leaving behind people that treasured him. But, you're still here. You're still alive, breathing, talking..."
"How could we forget about our feelings now?"
"It's not like Noah. We couldn't see you as a brother figure. And so, here we are. If not for you asking us on a date, we wouldn't have told you anything."
Orion continued to caress their hair.
"This is so unfair."
He felt Dramia hugging him tightly, and Drania's hands trembling on his chest.
"I may not be good enough for you two. Are you still fine with me?"
"There's no one else for us!"
Removing her face from his chest, Dramia looked into his eyes while shouting.
"At this point, you can't make us give up."
Showing a smile unusual to her, she hugged him.
"I see."
He closed his eyes, and made up is mind.
"Then, would you accept being my lovers?"
Both Dramia and Drania grabbed his collar and forced his face to come down. There was still thirty centimeters of height difference between them.
Before he could open his eyes, he felt someone's lips on his. It was Dramia who went first. After a few seconds, his head went in the other direction, with the same sensation happening again. Drania was the last one to kiss him.
"A kiss..."
"Hehe~"
Opening his eyes, he noticed Dramia touching her lips with a blush on her cheeks, and Drania rubbing her face on his chest.
'These two are precious. Way too precious to hurt.'
As Orion was making up his mind, he didn't realized that a crowd of people were jealously looking at them. Though, he kept ignoring them afterward.
The date wasn't done, and there was still time until it was over. Now that the three had expressed their feelings, the rest of the date went by with two happy sisters hugging his arms.
Once the date done, the sisters returned to Tiohr-nam feeling a weight off of their mind.
But when Orion returned home, he found himself in a strange situation.
...
"What the-"
The vortex above the Altar was blinking wildly.
