"Ghhhh-"
Amelia withstood the fire similar to a miniature sun. Gritting her teeth, she used everything to maintain the seal around Kelvin's corrupted form.
The mirror broke one by one due to sheer power caused by the loss of control.
'This power! It really is the same!'
Sweat dropped from Amelia's snow white cheeks. Even though her body had cooled down thanks to her transformation, she was still heating up due to extreme exhaustion.
"Haaaa!"
She kept hearing the scream of pure agony coming from the seal, but she ignored it.
'Wasn't he immune to his own magic, like everyone is? Or is it because he became corrupted?'
The question lingered in her mind for a split second before being called back to reality.
Water was beginning to drip from the thick ice walls created by the dragon's sculpture. If she remained unfocused, everything would crumble and become a puddle of water.
'You got this Amelia... You got this.'
She breathed a long sigh, exhaling a white cloud from a mouth.
Lifting her face, her expression became unperturbed. She was determined to be the one standing.
She kneeled on the ice, plunging Dana into the ice and the ground below.
'I need more spikes.'
Using even more magic, she was on the verge of collapsing, as her vision began to blur. But she stayed strong. She had to.
Her magic flowed through the earth, toward the seal.
Two layers of mirrors already broke down, leaving three to withstand the blast. Just before the third one vanished, seven ice spikes emerged from the ground below, encasing Kelvin in another thick layer of ice.
They only held for ten seconds, but those became extremely precious seconds as the walls began to melt faster.
The heat began to affect Amelia too at some point.
"Ha...Ha...Gh!"
She strengthened her grip on Dana, and tried to release more magic.
'No.'
But her water/ice element refused.
'Then I guess this is it.'
The miniature sun looked like it would never stop, as well as the shouts coming from within the seal.
One pillar broke down, crashing on the ice. A mist cloud appeared from it, but instantly vanished from the heat.
Only one layer of crystal remained. There was nothing she could do anymore, beside watching her struggle be in vain.
*Crack*
A large crack formed on the ice wall she was staring at. Amelia's body began to tense up.
'Am I going to end up like mother?'
'No. Orion is looking after me!'
She freed herself from doubt, and forced herself to stand up, wobbling a little.
The pain in her arm was still on her mind, but she did her best to ignore it at the moment.
'Amelia. Take this.'
She heard Ego's words in her head, and as fast as she came, she left not to hinder her.
'Take what?'
Closing her eyes, she realized that magic flowed again in her soul. Enough to create two cocoons at least.
'Orion...'
With a smile on her face, she began to think.
'I don't have much time. What can I do? The seal is almost done for, the heat is becoming unbearable, and it is already a miracle it held in front of such power.'
'...'
'Power?'
Her brows moved up, as she thought of something.
'It's not a real sun! What was I scared about?!'
Forcing Dana out of the ground, she pointed it high above her head.
"Let's extinguish that fire."
She used most of the magic she received to create a ball of water. It grew more and more, until it became enough to swallow the seal and more.

"Hnf!"
Throwing the water at the seal, it bounced on the ground and swallowed the seal as expected. It fortified the ice walls that remained by a small amount, and stayed in place until the fire broke free.
The walls exploded in thousands of shards, the pillars vanished in a mist in the water, and the last layer of mirrors completely disappeared.
Slowly, the fire began to heat up the water ball, but it was still contained inside. The fire expanded at a very slow pace thanks to the water, and right as it was about to break free from the water, it stopped.
The fire reversed, and returned to its original point, Kelvin.
When the fire completely vanished, the water ball exploded, creating a giant wave of water in every direction.
The water flew between Amelia's legs, as she looked at the state of the Corrupted Lord.
'This is not over yet.'
If she could murder him with her gaze, he would be long gone.
Squeezing Dana tighter, she walked toward the charred body that was remaining still after releasing his entire magic in one attack.
Approaching Kelvin, she went for a stab at the core on his chest.
"Not so fast!"
He moved and grabbed Amelia's arm, ready to snap it in half.
"I said it, I'll take you with-"
*Stab*
Seeing a dagger plunged into his chest, he realized something was wrong. He looked at the arm he grabbed.
"You think I wouldn't be prepared?"
Amelia used the remaining of the magic she received to create a third arm made of ice to bait Kelvin into grabbing it.
After stabbing him, she broke the false arm by kicking him in the chest, removing Dana at the same time.
She stabbed the core in his right leg before he could recover his balance, and without waiting, she stepped on his chest.
"This is for my mother, and all the beings you've wronged."
The last thing the Corrupted Lord Kelvin saw was the dagger stab his right eye.
"NOOOO!"
He thrashed around for a long minute with Dana stuck in its eye, until he stopped moving.
Slowly, his body began to disintegrate.
"Your name..."
Amelia looked at Kelvin with hate in her eyes. She noticed that it was neither the corrupted Kelvin or the one she fought at first that asked.
"Amelia."
"I really... had nothing against you... at first."
She listened to his last words with disgust on her face.
"But, jealousy is not... easy to ignore."
"I really... loved Henrietta."
Amelia snapped at him in anger.
"Yet you killed her! You've decimated a whole village for something stupid! You've angered the dragons for a stupid reason and brought many tragedies to happen!"
"I... know."
His remaining eye looked to the sky.
"I had no idea... corruption was in me at that time."
Only his torso remained. He had not much time remaining.
"This kind of ending... is not so bad."
"In the end, I never... got... what I..."
Those were the last words Kelvin spoke before Dana fell to ground with a 'cling' noise.
*sigh*
"I couldn't care less."
Amelia fell her butt to the ground, returning to normal. Her icy horns broke into pieces, her veil disappeared, and her eyes and hair returned to their original colors.
"Amelia, give me your arm."
"Sure. Ouch!"
She tried lifting her arm, but it hurt pretty badly.
"How did I do?"
As Orion began to heal her arm, she avoided his gaze, as she knew she made a lot of mistakes.
"You did great. What does it feel to have your revenge fulfilled?"
'Is not going to lecture me?'
She made a frustrated expression, and bit her lower lip.
"It's... sad."
"I see. It won't bring back your mother, that is the reality of things."
"Hmm."
Nodding, she looked at Orion.
"Are you angry? I hurt myself pretty bad because I underestimated my enemy."
"I'm not angry, neither am I disappointed. I would have been if you had forced me to defend you, but you managed to fight him from start to finish."
"You've won, avenging your mother, and Monolavir's lost children."
Amelia looked at her arm that was almost back to its prime shape.
"I still needed your help at the end. If not for your magic, I wouldn't have survived."
"And I can't use my abilities without you. What's a little help? It's not like I interrupted in any way."
"True."
She smiled happily.
"You're good to go. Stopping the bleeding was a good choice."
Closing and opening her left hand a few times, she felt none of the previous pain.
"Thanks."
"My pleasure."
Orion stood put, and gave a hand to Amelia.
"We have to recover Nylon, and then we'll go home to rest."
"Can I get a reward?"
"Sure, whatever you want."
Orion opened a portal to Haravel and walked through it.
Amelia stopped before following through, and turned around.
"I hope you can all rest in peace now. We'll come to bury you properly la-"
Her eyes opened wide.
Hundreds of ghostly figures bowed to her from a distance.
'I might be dreaming, but...'
She waved at them, and smiled.
'if that was enough to bring peace to the poor souls that died because of us, then it was worth it.'
The ghosts vanished, and Amelia walked through the portal.
Bandir finally found its peace. The last page of this tragedy finally came to be, after twenty-two years.
~
"Ah~"
Amelia stretched her body. She was currently laying on Orion's lap in his room.
"That's the reward you want?"
"I would have asked for a kiss, but for some strange reasons, you've been adamant in not kissing me or Karteira."
"..."
His gaze went to the window.
"I don't mind. Well, that's a lie, but I don't want to force you. We can wait until you've won against Elliott."
Orion smiled sarcastically.
"You sure believe in my strength a lot, do you?"
"Aren't you the most powerful man on the continent currently?"
Shrugging, he corrected her.
"That may be the case, but there's always someone more powerful than you."
"Stop being a kid, can't you take a compliment for once?"
*sigh*
"Fine, your Highness. Thank you for the compliments."
He bowed, approaching his face to hers who was on his lap.
Instinctively, she moved her hand and began to pat his head.
"What are you doing?"
Their gaze joined. Amelia saw her own reflection in his eyes, making her slightly enraptured.
"I don't know. I felt like doing that."
"Hmm. Alright."
Orion straightened his back, and began to do the same thing. He patted Amelia's head with his hand.
"Good work today. You've done incredibly well."
"Sure, thanks to you."
They stayed like this for an hour, making small talk about Amelia's new Elemental Mastery, what they would do from now on, what was on tonight's menu, everything.
Just like old times, when it was only him and her.
Of course, Karteira was currently jealous of Amelia, but that was normal. She wouldn't hold any feelings against Amelia.
*Knock*
Orion looked at the door when he heard a very faint knock on the door.
"Yes?"
He heard a grunt from the other side, and at one point, the door opened.
"Stella?"
Amelia blinked a few times, when she realized she was in a position hard to explain to a little girl.
"How are you feeling?"
"G-Good. Hmm."
The little girl closed the door carefully, ran toward the bed, climbed it, and sat next to Orion. She had an innocent little smile on her face.
'She might be happy that we returned.'
Orion pinpointed her feelings, as it wasn't hard to understand a child unfiltered mind.
Amelia smiled warmly at the girl, and went to pat her head.
With just that, time went by quite fast for the three of them, enjoying some time together.
At one point, Amelia and Stella left his room.
"Mom. Dad."
Starring at his bracelet, he looked at the percentage on the device.
'There's still quite a lot of energy inside. I hope they are doing fine.'
Before dinner came, Orion thought about their next stop.
'Next...'
