True Disease

Species: True Disease

Family: Undead

Risk level: High

Weaknesses: Fire

Description: Shriveled remnants of deceased lesser zombie. They can only form themself in very specific circumstaces. First of all they require at least one corpse of previously killed undead, then its body must be left completely untouched until it doesn't have even a drop of water inside it. Then in the process there is extremely small chance that inside of it will develop a specific kind of disease that animates the corpse and takes over the remnants. This process, even with many tries from greedy militarists, couldn't be recreated and probably never will, due to the fact that this virus seems to only manifest if its surroundings are not observed. We could learn more about it only after the autopsy of this undead, which allowed us to carefully study the entire process of how it came into beeing, both the virus and the True Disease.

The disease in itself is not very remarkable, it functions as any other of its kind and at first doesn't seem to be extraordinary. Its unique feature comes from being able to analize and absorb into itself the characteristics of other cells and microbes with almost immediate results. This allows it to specifically select the traits that allows it to spread itself with speeds much faster that any other of its kind. This also nullifies the boundaries between species in which it can spread allowing it to grow even further than normal.

The one weak point of it is that it cannot leave the original body and forces it to become stationary, due to the state of the body it inhabits. To counter this it is also able to control the bodies of the victims it managed to kill, forcing them to bring it even more samples of other diseases. The only way to completely get rid of it is to burn the body it is stationed until only ashes remain. The main problem with this is the danger of getting anywhere near it, or even the area it is in due to the unreasonable amount of viruses and bacteria in the air.

Even after it is dead the plague remaining afterwards and the already raised undead are further spreading the diseases to the land of living. At least it is no longer coordinated as well as before. Thankfully, in history there were only two instances of it appearing, and we all hope that there will not be a third one.

Personal notes: "The amount of preparation you need to even get close enough to kill it is insane. First of all you must have near you almost lethal amounts of general purpose medication, in hopes that even one of it will lower the risks of falling ill. Then enough masks to last an entire city for the next century and clothes thick and isolating enough to block any airflow to avoid contracting anything. And lastly do this fast enough to not risk falling down from lack of air, food or water, because through the entire expedition you can't even nible on anything brought to its area of influence. At least I made it back alive, unlike some of my brothers." Gath the Vermin, member of Blood Hunt
