Spirit Trickster

Species: Spirit Trickster

Family: Undead

Risk level: Low

Weaknesses: Fire, To much spirits under its control

Description: This monster is very similar to the most basic undead that ever existed, namely zombies. From appereance they are almost indistinguishable from them, they possess the same rotting bodies, the same slow movement and the same drive to kill anything living in its sight. The only thing that is different lays in the abilities of the former, mainly the capability of commanding weak spirits. This gives the undead a massive advantage over their weaker breathren, due to the ghosts' higher speed and better sight, which allows the Spirit Trickster to better locate prey and gives it a limited way of distracting the opponent during combat.

Even though it has those skills, it isn't much smarter than normal zombies, which limits the extend of the ghosts' performance. It also doesn't allow the undead to control stronger spirits with developed minds and personalities. Also it cannot control more than six ghosts, or better said it won't live long enought with more of them, because of the way it manages to secure them under its influence. It does that by instinctually offering them the deal, in which they get to go to the afterlife after they help it secure food.

Of course, as its name suggestes, it will never keep its promise, mainly because it doesn't even know how to do that. When it tries to control more than six ghosts, its ability to control them weakens, which causes the ghosts to seek revenge for mistreatment, and leads to drastic dismembering of the undead.

They don't pose much of a threat by themself, and it is recommended to simply deal with them like normal zombies. If the zombie has the maximum limit of spirits under its palm, it is also preferable to sacrifice to it a single small animal to add another ghost to its arsenal, causing it to perish early.

Personal notes: "Simply disgusting. Slavery, deception, violating the free will and of course desecrating the dead. Normal zombies I can understand, they don't think, they are just living corpses moving on instincts. Spirit Tricksters can in those same instincts take someones mind and use it to spread it to more people. And they gather more followers, by killing innocenct people. Vile vermins, the only think they would be good as is a fertilizer." Lavius Geron, priest of the Church of the afterlife
