Species: Finger Mimic
Family: Parasite
Risk level: Low
Weaknesses: Fire
Description: This parasite took for itself a unique way to adapt, and better conceal its parasiting behaviour. Namely when its chosen victim falls asleep it inject them with anesthesiac substance and then burrows itself inside one of the fingers. Next over the course of few days it slowly replaces the tissue simultaneously taking over its functions, connecting itself to its host's nervous system.
The victim doesn't feel any difference exept occasionally losing control of it. The only way to identify it is to take notice of small changes in softness of the finger during the transformation, rare moments when after it, it changes consistency. It is not required to report its presence, due to the fact that it can't reproduce when bonded.
Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.
Even if it isn't very dangerous, after the host dies it consumes the rest of the body, and with that replicates itself rapidly, this is why after victims death the body should be burned, or if the family wants to preserve it, to quickly cut of the infected finger and similarily dispose of it.
Personal notes: "I had this bugger with me for around twelve years and to this date it didn't harm me in any way. Maybe it takes some blood from me, but isn't it what every finger does? Also, what would I gain from removing it? It doesn't bother me, doesn't spread, and does not do any harm. I don't exactly want to lose my finger, so just let it stay. Maybe after I die I will ask to cremate my body, to don't take any risks, but for now I am alright." Unnamed victim of this parasite
