Chimera

Species: Chimera

Family: Aberration

Risk level: Depends

Weaknesses: Depends

Description: This monster was very hard to classify because of its nature. Depending on the environment it inhabits all of its characteristics vary greatly. The only similarity between each of them are circumstances of their birth, and then they quickly branch away, until the only thing left that is familiar between them is their predatory nature.

They come into existance when monster tries to breed with the other one. Their child is quickly discarded upon birth and left alone to survive. At first it is nothing more than a blob of flesh, but the more it eats and grows, the more it adapts to its habitat, until it becomes the apex predator of the region. Because of the very unlikable circumstances of its birth the amount of Chimeras is very low, and will remain as such until monsters start to normally reproduce.

There are currently ten known Chimeras in the world and all of them are very unique on themself. One of them is a mix between a whale, a shark, a squid and partially a jellyfish. The others inhabit such regions as swamps, forests, mountains, caves, volcanoes and one of them even made for itself a layer inside an abandoned sewer system. Almost all of them are so dangerous that the only chance for survival is to avoid them before they manage to detect you. That's why humanity was unable to slay even a single one of them.

There was one try, when a group of hunters layed an ambush near its layer, but it managed slay them all and following their leftover scent it went into the city to wipe out the rest of the citizens. They are to be avoided at all cost, under any circumstances.

Personal notes: "A literal nightmare of a beast. It adapts, grows and learns from everything it does. No matter what we do or try to do it will always just adapt to new stimulations and come back from it stronger than before. They aren't monsters anymore, but just plain calamities." Buck Crisk, member of Blood Hunt
