What used to be an advanced world powered by steam and electricity, now became just a husk of its former self after the cataclysm. When mages grow more arogant, and close their eyes on morals, death follows. After gruesome experiment, where thousands of people where sacrifices, to allow few a graze of immortality, they could not contain the energy that came from that.

Spreading around the world, to every animal, plant, bug, even space itself, malforming it, twising it until everything adapted to the new force. First months of cataclysm harvested many lives, no place on earth was spared from that fate. Then, after half a year humanity learned to fight back, for they were not excluded from transformation and adaptation of their new reality. Strong people became hunters, strong willed became mages and smart became artificers.

The bravely fought back, until they took their lands back, and managed to extract their lost knowledge. Now is the age of new knowledge, and new possibilities, but also new dangers. Can humanity prevail, or given enough time something better that them will take their place. We may never know the answer.
