Species: Phantom Scavenger
Family: Ghost
Risk level: Low/Medium
Weaknesses: Silver, General Metals
Description: This is a monster that specifically travels in large groups, measuring even one hundred individuals. They look like crimson red, transparent spirits or crows, with wings that look like are about to fade away in the air. They are individually not very strong and can easily repelled by silver or protected against them by a layer of steel or other similar materials. They have difficulty going through solid objects and their strength is weaker that their alive counterparts. They make up for their inane weakness by traveling in groups, and instead of seeking fresh prey, feasting on old carcasses.
Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
Of course, the more there are of them, the more dangerous they grow, but can't pose enough threat to endanger bigger settlements, and can be easily repelled by trained military and mages. But those kinds of situations are very rare, due to their high enough intelligence. They will not seek out dangers, like that, and they would prefer much more to continue living on rotting flesh and easy prey.
Personal notes: "Before monsters first came into existance we thought that only humans had souls and now we are not so sure. Maybe some ghosts form from pure spirits there are some that require only life essence to live. But the amount of specific animal and plant ghosts puts into consideration fact that maybe everything alive has a soul. Until we can prove it or disprove it in some way we could never what what's the truth, but for now we will stick with our believe that only creatures with enough inteligence or power can have souls."
