The waters were rough at first, but as the sun came up, the water become still. Ein woke Rev up nudging him. Rev instinctually dashed backwards into a fighting position.
"I am no threat to you Rev," Ein says.
Rev loosens up and sees the bowl of food in Eins' hand. "You brought me food?"
Ein smiles "of course. Here it's mushroom soup. Be sure not to waste a drop".
Rev takes the bowl. Ein pulls out a piece of bread and rips it in half, handing one half to Rev, while dipping the other half in his bowl of soup.
Ein tells Rev "Its important what you eat Rev some food restore more source to your body then other do. Tell me something Rev. Can you see any source in the bread or soup?"
Rev focuses on the bread, but can't seem to make out much. Then he switches his focus to the soup that has a dim but clear glow to it.
"I can't see much in the bread but the soup has light in it," Rev says.
"It's truly amazing what those eyes of your can see," Ein says.
Rev shrugs and mimics Ein bread dipping motions. His face softens as he bites into the bread.
"Slow down child. What do we say before we eat?" Ein asks.
Rev glares up at Ein "Thank you twin gods" Rev says.
Ein smiles, "Thank you twin gods for providing our meal. We shall not waste it"
Rev starts digging in to his food. Ein sign and begins eating as well.
Once they finish Rev asks, "So how are you gonna make me strong?"
Ein looks over. "Well we can't practice arts here as it could be dangerous on the boat and cause a commotion. So until we make land fall we will be going over concepts and basic knowledge you should know about arts and what goes into casting them."
Rev gives a blank stare "So when will be able to create a water monster and fly around"
Ein sign "Well, that's a place to start. You see, Rev there are 5 levels of arts, then there is what is regarded as "special" arts which there are 5 of. The rankings go lower, mild ,higher, Great, Legendary. The art you saw by the blessed elf cast was probably around Great to legendary tier. A and flying isn't an art, it's a technique."
Rev thinks for a moment, "So the higher the tier the stronger the art is?" Rev asks.
Ein starts to explain "No, not exactly. The tiers are based on how complicated the art is. A low or mild art can be extremely useful and even deadly in some right hands. The special arts, hence their name, are by far the strongest and most complicated arts to ever exist. Some spend their lifetime trying to figure out how they work. Even those who do and have managed to pass down the knowledge the best they can have no hope of ever casting the art as special arts take an extremely unnatural amount of source to execute properly or to maintain the art for more than a second."
Rev surprisingly seems like he's lesioning. "Now, having said that I have a firm belief that those eyes are your will make understanding and casting arts much easier. Most caster art in the dark when they cast forced to imagine what the art there casting looks like. But you can see it right in front of your eyes. Think of casting as following instruction to paint a certain picture. At first, with low and mild arts, it's okay if you do not perfectly recreate the picture, but as it becomes more complicated, even the smallest mistake can cause the art to fail completely. This leads us to our first lesson: source control. The three things you can do with the source inside you are either pull, push, or bend."
Rev looks at himself seeing the light inside his himself.
"Rev am going to realise some source I want you to try to do the same," Ein says.
Rev switches his focuses to Ein seeing the source from his core come flowing out at a steady pace. The source from his core release straight out of his chest. Rev Tries to do the same but his flow of source isn't as steady as Ein's Rev source come flooding out and he quickly tries to stop it. Ein notices Rev's panicked face.
"Try to image the source inside you like a barrel of water. If you want to take a sip of the barrel, you don't want to rip the entire lid off or most of the water will come crashing down on your face. You want to create a small hole." Ein explains to Rev.
Rev steady his breath looking down at his core and imagine it's a barrel. He slowly lets source out into the palm of his hand.
"What do I do once I let it out," Rev asks.
"Try to pull it back in like breathing out a breath of air then take another breath in," Ein says.
Rev does as Ein says breathing in and seeing the source slowly go from the palm of his hand to back to his core. See it go straight through his skin and become part of his core again.

"I did it," Rev says with a faint smile.
"Good job Rev. Now try realising more this time," Ein says.
The lesson progresses with Ein teaching Rev how to release more and more source from his body. Making sure not to release too much focuses on controlling the flow the best Rev can. The next step is to redirect the source to flow out of specific parts of you.
"Good Rev gather the source at the bottom of your feet and realise it slowly and pull it back up to your chest," Ein tells Rev.
The ship began to rock heavily, causing Rev to lose balance. He recovers, but the source he lets out is starting to scatter. He extends his hand out and pulls it back in. Rev notices Ein laughing as he looks over at him.
"Am glad you think it's funny," Rev says.
"Lets end the lesson here for today. It seems we have rough waters a head. Ill go try to see if dinner is ready." Ein tells Rev as he leaves the room.
Rev watches Ein leave, then walks over to the window. He watches the waves below crash into the ship. It begins to rain water crashing down on the ship above, the sound oddly southing to Rev. But the rain itself is Rev hated as when he didn't have a house in the city and it rained it would always remind him of that night. It would play back in his head over and over again so so cold. He hated how powerless he felt. He couldn't even get a good look at who it was or what they said. All he could clearly remember was his mother's scream and how cold he felt. As Rev was lost in thought, Ein returned and snapped him out of it by drawing his attention to the food in Ein's hands.
"You ok Rev you look down," Ein ask.
"Am fine. What did you get?" Rev says.
"It seems our training went past dinner time so there wasn't much left to be honest," Ein says.
Ein shows Rev the plate with 1 loaf of bread, 2 oranges, and a fish head on it.
Rev stare blankly at the plate "I've had worse" he says as he picks up the fish head and starts to dissect the meat from it.
"Rev are you forgetting something? " Ein says while staring down at Rev.
Rev takes a moment then realizes "Oh thank you twin gods for the meal i will not let it go to waste" Rev says glaring back at Ein for approval.
Ein smiles, "Progress is progress. Dig in Rev"
Rev smirks and grabs the orange, taking a bite out of it and squeezing the juice on the fish head. Ein looks over at Rev "strangle child" he thinks to himself. That night, the water only became more and more violent. Finally, as the sun came up, the ocean started to become more tamed.
"Please don't tell me every night will be like that," Rev says in a ragged voice.
Ein laughs, "Well, I can't promise they won't be," Ein says.
Ein gets up to head out. "Ill go check if breakfast is ready. Maybe some food will cheer you up," Ein says as he shuts the door behind him.
Rev gets up, looking out the window as he brushes his hair with his hand. He can feel his stomach cramping up. He forces the window open, sticking his head out to throw up. After throwing up and having fresh air hit his face, Rev feels a lot better. He takes a deep breath of air, holding it tightly before letting go. He watches the wave below, learning there rythem then mimicking it. Rev sticks his hand directing source to flow out of his hand then pulling it in back and forth repetitively causing ripples in the source that mimics the waves below. Rev looks intently before his focus in broken with Ein opening the door to the room.
"Get down from there Rev you could fall out," Ein says in a concerned tone.
Rev hops down from the window "I had to throw up" Rev says.
"Oh, sorry Rev hopeful this makes you feel better," Ein says.
Ein presents a plate with garlic bread and cheese. The smell of the garlic bread fills Rev's noises, causing a smile to creep up on his face. The last time he had smelled such a thing was in the inner city of Eden.
Rev takes the plate. "Thank you twin gods for the meal. Ill eat it all," Rev says.
Ein smiles "that's the spirit. Here," Ein hand Rev an apple. "you need to make sure to recover any lost source that you might've lost in yesterday's training, so eat up," Ein says.
Rev waste so time grabbing the apple from Ein hand and taking a juice bite of it. After their first meal was eaten, it was time for another lesson.
"Alright Rev, let build on what we learned yesterday. Let start by releasing some source into the palm of to hands." Ein says as he demonstrates.
Rev mimics what he sees. "Now try to pull in back in to your palm and keep it there," Ein says.
Rev pulls it back in. "Ok, now release a steady flow of source in your palm while also pulling it back into your palm. This should create a cycle of pushing and pulling. Make sure to keep the flow steady to not create ripples in the source."
Rev watches how cleaning the source flows in a circle out then in to Eins palm. he looks down at his hand but the flow is not as steady as Eins and rev can see small bits of source scattering as he released source. He needs to slow down his release and strengthen his pull.
"Did you do it?" Ein asks.
"Yes kinda, give me a second," Rev says as he increases his focus.
Rev looks intently at his palm, which has started to sweat.
Ein sees that Rev is struggling and tries to give him advice "Rember Rev, it's like breathing in and out, in and out"
Rev increase the pace of his breath. In out, in out, in out, faster and faster.
"Bring your other hand closer and flow the source from the right hand to your left, then back to your right," Ein says.
Rev brings his left hand next to his left, having their palms face each other. Then doing as Ein instructed.
"If you feel conformable with that, try to widen the space between your hands," Ein tells Rev.
Rev slowly moves his hand further away from each other. This causes Rev to have to strengthen his release and pull. Rev manages to create a stable flow between his hands after some attempts and tinkering.
"I did it, I did it," Rev says with a full smile on his sweat covered face.
Ein pats Rev on the back "Great job Rev, you're an incredibility fast learner," Ein says.
Ein and Rev build on the concept, further increasing the distance and speed the source travels. They take a break to refuel, eating dinner.
"thank you twin gods for the meal. We will not waste a drop," Ein says.
After dinner was over, they returned to practice, now closing the gap with their hands pressed together. Now they should focus on moving the source in their hands quickly while keeping the flow steady, ensuring they do not lose any source in the process.
"Ok Rev, try to use the stored source in your hands and release multiple small wind blast after each other." Ein instructs Rev.
Rev does as Ein says release rapid, small wind blast at the wall.
"Good, let's call it a day here tomorrow. We will talk about hand signs. I'm sure you have seen some caster use them before," Ein says.
Rev looks over at Ein "Hands signs?" He thinks back to his fight with Thomas as does remember him making weird jesters with his hand. Either way, Rev was tired and the waters that night weren't nearly as rough as they were the night before. Rev looked forward to much needed rest.
