Chapter 15

-Day 15 of the jungle.

Ein and Rev are starting traversing the jungle much quicker than before. The daily routine has been set by this point. Wake up to eat. Travel for 8hrs and kill any beast along the way. Eat that said beast for dinner. Then go to bed. Now what happens along that 8hr travelling period does change day to day. Whether it's strict movement to cover a lot of land that day. Or more training based, but till making up a good amount to land. Either way, the communication between Rev and Ein has improved. Rev telling Ein everything he sees and Ein telling Rev what he senses. This keeps them relatively safe and hyper aware at all times.

-Day 16 of the jungle.

Rev spotted a new creature that day.

“Look Ein, look…it so big and has spikes running along its back. Could it be that creature you told me about…the Garno?” Rev asks.

Ein goes up to Rev and looks through the bushes. Rev then points to the creature.

“Yes, it is. What a large beast indeed.” Ein says.

“Can we-”

“No Rev. We wouldn’t be able to eat all the meat. Remember, we don’t kill for fun. We kill because we must eat. If the creature doesn’t attack us and it’s too big to eat, then we ill leave it alone.” Ein tells Rev.

“…Ok” Rev says his voice lacking conviction.

“Come on Rev you can fly your kite up a head it seems to be fewer trees blocking the sky.” Ein tells Rev.

Rev’s eyes come back to life as he rumbles through Ein’s bag for his kite.

-Day 17 of the jungle.

Rev and Ein got a little distracted by the kite fly yesterday. But Ein, seeing how much Rev like the kite, he suggests a more challenging way of controlling it.

“Rev, how about you try controlling the kite without the string, like you did with the stone spear?” Ein suggests.

“Ok” Rev says sounding partially unsure, but still up for the challenge.

Rev unties the string from the kite and trees to fly in front of him, but it doesn't stay air born for long. So he shoots it up in the sky. He has to track it through the. source he can see it emulate alone. This proved to be very good training, but Rev's awareness decreased as his focus was divided during this time. He will have to trust Ein during this period of training.

-Day 18 of the jungle.

The kite training was challenging on Rev, but he will continue it in shorter duration than yesterday. Rev focuses today more on his source control training. Trying to create as many splits as possible. Reaching 55 different exits, slightly more than half of what he needs to properly create source mist.

“Ein, can you show me how you do the source mist again?” Rev asks.

Ein turn “of course” he says.

Ein flips his hand palm side up and shoots out a mist of source. Rev looks carefully, then looks back at his hand. He then compares his hand to Ein’s.

“Hey that's not fair, your hand is way bigger then mine is” Rev says as he presses his hand to Eins’.

Ein takes a look and laughs. “I guess I never thought of that being an issue…well I guess you could use more than just your hand to dispel the source or better yet try using both your hands so you can still be precise with your shots.” Ein suggests.

“Oh, ok that could work” Rev responds.

He includes his left hand now in the action and can now create 15 more exits, putting him at 70 in total. Since he hasn't trained his left hand, he will have to get used to using it with his non-dominant hand.

-Day 19 of the jungle.

Day 19 was one of those travel days. Minimal training, just a lot of walking. Ein has taken these days to tell Rev stories of the twin gods.

“I thought sense we have these kinds of rest days. I could tell you about the twin gods like we talked about before in our deal we made. Strength inturn for listening to what I have to say.” Ein says.

“…Ok, so who are the twin gods? like what do they do?” Rev asks.

Ein smile “Good question. I can’t expect you to follow someone you don’t know. The twin gods are the creators of everything. They are not bound by time or physical space. They are said to be in the beyond, a place only reachable through faith in them. Now there is to path of the twin gods. Strength and wisdom are what they stand for. People usually choose one of those and live their life through the teaching of that twin god. Strength teaches to use Strength to protect others who can't protect themself and the greatest strength in only achieves through faith. While the other teaches wisdom, teaching you of source and all that can be done with it. Knowledge is power and you must spread the knowledge to all who will lesson. Those who follow wisdom are given visions of future events that later come to fruition. If you have a question, then pray to that twin god and they will answer, but be warned, you may not like the answer.”

Rev is taking in all the information. “How do you know that? Did the wisdom god give you a vision?”

“Well, no but she has given others vision and told them to document what they were hearing. This is how the faith first started many years ago. The stories were then passed on. The arts, you know, all come from people being given a vision of them, then documenting what they saw and heard in the vision. The arts we cast work, don’t they? So those visions must have been true.” Ein tells Rev.

Rev nods his head but is silent, looking at his hand. Looking at the source that fills it. “I can see what the twin gods spoke of. So…they have to be real. How else would they know what no one else could see was there?” Rev thinks to himself.

-Day 20 of the jungle.

Today was a right back to training. Rev had killed 2 Barrows for each of him and Ein to eat. So they were plenty fueled for the day ahead. Rev practice his source missed training, not making much progress. He flew his kite around with and without stringing. As the day grow older, a thought crossed Rev’s mind. As he had spent the last night thinking about what Ein told him about the twin gods. Rev waited for dinner to roll around.

“That you twin gods for the meal, we will not let any go to waste.” Ein says.

“So, Ein, can the twin gods hear us or see us? You said there in the beyond, but if that's true, how do you know they can even hear your prayers?” Rev Asks.

“Well…If you remember i also said they are not physical or even bound to time, which means the twin gods are everywhere and are eternal. They have no beginning or end. People say that the source is the glimmer of their power. So Rev, I don’t truly know how they can see or hear me, but I have faith that they can as I have experienced them answering my prayers.” Ein explains.

Rev is silent for a moment. “Answering your prayer how? You said you havn’t had any visions.” Rev says.

“I havn’t had a vision, but they can answer you in different ways. Lets put it this way Rev when i was fist born i didn’t want to be a warrior of the twin gods. I didn’t want to put my life on the line for people I had just met. I traveled the world in order to escape my duties Rev, but the twin had a plan for me and their power works in mysterious ways. My travelling only brought me closer. When it was just me out there, no one was there to save me if I messed up. So when I mess up and almost died several times I ask the twin gods if i was being punished. As i ask i had though what i had been through. The twin gods could have forsaken me. They could have let the evil of this world take me over, but they didn’t. They let me choose my path, but in the end it lead me right back to them. I had gotten my answer to that question many years ago i just didn’t know it at the time.” Ein tells Rev.

Rev asks “They have a plan for us…so they control us?”

"No, Rev, we've been blessed with free will. If you wanted to shoot a stone spear through my head, you could. But I don't believe you will. You see that Rev I do 100% know you could do something, but I have faith that you won’t because I know your character. That’s the same relationship I have with the twin gods. It’s trust Rev. I know they could control me, but they said they aren't, so I choose to have faith in them. People have been given vision and claimed that it comes from the twin gods and the vision has all been true so far, so who am I to doubt them?” Ein explains.

“So, how do you know what their plan is for you?” Rev asks.

Ein responds “you must pray to them and they can answer in different ways some you may not like. But remember Rev, your current suffering doesn’t compare to your future success. For all those who put the faith and submit to the twin gods will be taken to the beyond.

Rev has an unsure expression on his face. "Submit?”

Ein sees the expression on Rev’s face and tries to explain it to him. “Yes submit, once you put your faith I the twin gods, you must stay on the road of the blessed and spread the word to all who will listen. You must obey their rules and pray to them daily, such as thanking them for a meal.”

Rev looks confused now. “You told me I was cured before. Were those the twin gods? Was that in there a plan for me? I don’t get….get it….what was the point of what happened? Why did they have to die?” Revs voices turns into a whisper.

Ein looks concerned. "What was that child? Who is it that died? Was it the children I first saw you with before?” Ein asks.

Rev is silent as the memory replay in his mind “them too…why did they have to die? Was that the plan for their life? Born just to meet a brutal end?” Revs voiced is becoming upset like a hot ember.

Ein “Rev…”

Rev is reaching his limit, his breath is heavy and hands are shaking. “No, if those twin gos created ever thing, then why did they create such evil in this world? Why don't they grant vision to everyone so they could all be saved, like you say?Why must I put my faith in creators of this sick world?”

Ein voice raises “REV… do not blame the creature for the action of their creation. I tell you the truth Rev, you were not born cursed. I have no doubt. Evil does not come from the twin gods. So they are not responsible for the action that of the evil. Tell me Rev, do you think those evil people were born like that?.”

Rev's head is down, his voice quiet, but lances with thorns. “I…don’t know”

Ein is quick to respond. “Oh, so you don’t know. Have you ever talks to an evil person Rev? Ask them how their life has been. Because I’m confident, I’ve traveled the world longer, then you’ve been alive and I’ve talked to those people. I’ve heard there story’s and I’ve led many not all to faith in the twin gods. Trust me Rev I will personally introduce you to them and they can tell you themself how their life has been after they put their faith in the all mighty.”

Rev is silent.

Ein continues. “I know Rev, that the journey can be rough. The twin gods can be ruthless but they also what to see you succeed. Isn’t that an amazing thing Rev? The creators of everything want are on your side. They want to see you grow and release the burdens of evil to them? They give us strength like no other. With that strength, we learn not to hate the wicked, but to do our best to save them. The violence can stop with your Rev.”

Rev steps forward, staring into Ein’s soul its self. His eyes are like a blazing Infernum. “When I was about a year old. I watch my mother die right in front of me. The last thing I heard was her cry my name. It was so cold that night I couldn’t sleep. The guards came in but the person that killed my family was already gone. So was that all part of the twin gods plan…TELL ME EIN…SHOULD I NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO HATE WHO EVER KILLED MY FAMILY!!!?.
