Chapter 40

“it seems I overestimated him. There was no need to cut a deal after all.” Rev thinks. Unknown to Rev, his action will soon catch up to him in as the hunter becomes the hunted. News of a new rising power hit the ears of the inner council. Full of the most powerful people in the world, the ones that whisper in the elf king's ears and influence his every diction from the start. The founding of the elf empire and the birth of the elf king led them to victory in what seemed a lost war. The elf king's power was too great it need to be contained as soon as possible. As a result, the inner council was born. The council itself was unknown to the elf king.

“The criminal called Red eyes has caused us to lose many good men. Not only that, it seems that he is no ordinary elf, but indeed a dark elf. I bring him up with urgent concern from the description of the damage he’s caused and the mass scale of it all. I fear that he is in possession of a special art known as Hellscape. The same art that we speculated Loka was after. Our insider told us that Loka was spotted fighting a cloaked elf, whom we believe to be Red Eyes. Not only that, but Red eyes lived through the fight. I recommend increasing his bounty to 8 grace. If he continues to rampage unchecked, then we will be forced to go after him.” One of the council member says.

Another member sighs. “How about we just pull his roots before he has a chance to grow any further? Mark him as a global threat and let the one of our men in the field take care of him. Sure, he might be able to fight off a first generation blessed elf or two, but he’ll get tired, eventually. If he is as threating as you claim he is, then it should be worth the resources.” The council suggests.

The other member whisper among themself. "Alright, we'll increase the Red Eyes bounty to 8 grace and mark him as a global criminal."

Making him the third marked man for death along with Cinder with a current bounty of 15 grace to be retrieved as dead. And Loka with a current bounty of 25 grace to be retrieved as dead or alive. This will now include Red eyes with a current bounty of 8 grace to be retrieved as dead or alive.” The council finalizes their decision. Rev makes his way to the city. His updated bounty has not reached Isha yet. He makes his wave over the wall and into the city. wind blast himself on top of a building climbing up the rest of the way. He begins to scan around while jumping from roof top to roof top. He spots a police car pulled over. Rev jumps down, controlling the surrounding air to soften his fall. He spot the officer.

“Where is Loka?” Rev plainly asks.

The men give a confused look. “And who are you-”

Rev waste no time cutting the man's head cleanly off with his dagger. He looks over at the other officer and dashes towards him, grabbing his neck.

“Where is Loka?” Rev slowly says.

“I don’t know. Please let me go.” The officer pleads.

“Well, someone has to know. Would you know who that someone would be?” Rev asks.

“…um…um…yeah, yeah. The chief would know.” The officer tells Rev.

“Ok, take me to the chief then,” Rev demands.

“Ok, ok…please just let me go. I’ll drive you there.” The officer tells Rev.

Rev let him go but hold the dagger to his throat. “One wrong move and you’ll end up like him. Do you understand” Rev tells the man.

“Yes!” the officer responds.

They get into the car, Rev holding the dagger to the officer's throat the whole way there.

“This is it. The chief is in there.” The officer says pointing to the building beside them.

“Take me in.” Rev says.

“…um…ok” the man says with rapid breaths in between words.

They get out of the car and the officer looks to see two guards at the front door. Then in the blink of an eye they were dead, and he felt the dagger back at his throat dripping with blood onto this shirt.

“A-”

Rev covers the man's mouth and brings the dagger to his right eye. “Shhh, you don’t need to speak. All you have to do is take me to this chief and I’ll let you go,” Rev whispers in his ear.

At that moment, a civilian walking by the man doesn't have time to turn his neck, but the sound hit him. The sound of a dagger cutting straight through flesh and bone.

“Let hurry this up.” Rev says, pushing the man forward.

“Who is this guy? Why is he so fast? Why does he want to find Loka? Loka that it this crazy motherfucker wants to fight him, doesn’t he?” The office thinks to himself.

“So…you want to fight Loka, right?” The officer asks.

“I WILL kill him. End of discussion, now move!” Rev tells the officer.

The officer moves through the front door and Rev clears the room with in second. Blood stains the walls and runs down the officer's face. He continues to lead Rev along, even though he knows Rev is killing those men. It feels as if he never leaves his side. All the man can do is watch as a black blur flashes through the room and paints it red. The man stops in front of a door.

“This is-”

The door swings open. “Where’s my coffee i sent- who the hell are you?” The chief asks.

“Um….” the officer is stunned.

Rev is nowhere to be seen. The chief takes a step forward, looking at the slaughter around him.

“DID YOU DO THIS!!?” the chief asks.

“…” the officer freezes as he spots Rev behind the chief.

His dagger swigs around, pressing itself to the chief's neck. He freezes, looking into the reflection of the officer's eye.

“What do you want?” the chief asks.

“Finally, a sensible man. I’ll I want to know is where Loka is.” Rev plainly says.

“He’s not in the city. I Don’t know exactly where he plans to go, but it seems he won’t be back for a while.” The chief tells Rev.

“Do you know why he left?” Rev asks.

“Probably got bored. My best guess is he’s going to Frayer to relax a bit.” The chief says.

“Frayer?” Rev thinks. “Alright, that means there’s no one here strong enough to stop me then.” Rev says.

The chief attempts to elbow Rev, but it's too late. Rev cast a fire blast point blank at the chief's head. Then dashes forward the slits the throat of the officer. He drops to his knees as his vision blurs. The last thing he sees is the crimson glow in Rev’s eyes. Rev searches for building and retrieves more source bullets. He then burns the building to the ground. Along with the city itself. The elite guard try to stop him, but now with the source of a dragon in him he’s fair to strong. They have no hope of tracking his movements as he swiftly and effortlessly takes them out one by one as he dashes through the city. Flying vehicles shine lines on him and Rev send a fire blast at them, causing them to explode and come crashing down to like falling stars. The fire spreads throughout the city as the spell of burning flesh and blood does as well.

“Where is he!?” an elite guard shouts.

BANG!

BANG!

BANG!

BANG!

BANG!BANG!

BANG!

Three elite guards stand the middle of the street, back-to-back, firing all around them as the fire closes in on them.

It was around 5hr sense Loka left and Rev had started to burn down the city. South west of Carter, the land of monster lays restless.

“Klevo has not reported back.”

Sigh “That fool when and got himself killed. Serves the weak right. Ember, Chain, and Wayra! Go to Carter and retrieve his body, or whatever is left of it.”

“Right away my queen,” the three dragons respond.

A group of three dragons is sent to north east towards Carter. Rev searches through the top of the building as the city burns. Attempts to put out the fire have all but stopped. The mass has decided to flee instead. Rev finds his way into a building reinforced with source metal. “This must be where Loka stays.” Rev thinks. He melts away the hinges and burst the door down. He hurriedly gathers all the papers he can. “It’s just like his notes in the palace. These are much more detail than before.” Rev thinks. He gathers what he thinks to be useful and stashes it in his bag of bullets. He spot a back pack and transfers his stuff into it.

“Much better.” Rev says.

Rev senses as the building begins to collapse. He makes his way up and out. Dashing through the air. Creating platforms to dash off of as he does. He looks down at the bright city.

“WHY IS THIS HAPPING!”

“WHERE’S LOKA!”

The elite guard and civilians trapped by the fire screams echo throughout the burning city. Rev reaches his arm, feeding the flames with a bit of source. He plants himself in the middle of of the city and pulls the flames to him. He begins to cast wind arts to create a small cyclone 5 story tall. The fire latches onto it and Rev lets it loose in the city. He grows in size.

-6 hrs later

The cyclone dies out as it has nothing left to consume. Once the fire subsided, a dark cloud of smoke completely covered the city's remains. Rev walks out of the dark cloud with a grin on his face.

“I didn’t know I could do that.” Rev says.

He makes pulls out a much more detail map that he stole from Loka. “Frayer…” Rev makes his way back to Eden’s port.

meanwhile Loka has finally touched down to see the burned ruins of Eden’s inner city.

“What happened here?…A dragon?” Loka asks.

The polite steps out. “I don’t know. We hadn’t received any infromation.”

“it seems only the inner city was affected. How strange.” Loka comments.

Loka makes his way out of the inner city. He is met by a ghost town. He sees the corpse of humans on the streets.

“They resorted to cannibalism. It seems the farms must have gone rogue when the inner city was destroyed.” Loka sighs.

“….ah..”

Loka turns, freezing the unidentified man at his feet.

“…a..oo…”

“What happened here?” Loka asks.

The man weakly points at his mouth. Loka cast an art to create water. He pours it into the man's mouth. The man lets out a heavy breath.

“There…there was a man in a black cloak. He fought Thomas and won…He…then destroyed the inner city and just left.” The man says.

Loka looks at the man in his sorry state and lets the ice spread to his body. He then shatter him into pieces.

“Red eyes, what have you done? Let go back to Carter. hurry to get back on the plane.” Loka orders the pilot.

The pilot gets back on the plane with Loka in the back. “Sir, without our schedule refuel here, we won’t be able to make it back to Carter.” The pilot informs Loka.

“good thing the engine runs off of source. I’ll refuel it. Let's just get back to Carter as fast as we can,” Loka says.

“As you wish, sir.” The pilot responds.

Loka sigh “Unfortunately, something tells me it’s already too late.” Loka thinks.

The Dragons have made their way to Isha and have spotted a dark cloud covering Carter city. They then spot the exploded prison below them. The three touch down and sniff around while looking for traces of source.

“Come over here.” Chain calls out.

“Look Klevo’s needles. He was here, but his body is nowhere to be seen.” Chain says.

“Maybe he took his fight with Loka into the city. That would explain the dark cloud around it, Lets just hurry up and find him. I was expecting a fight and now am getting bored.” Ember says.

“Alright let go,” Wayra says.

They make their way to the city with in a minute they enter the dark cloud. Wayra places himself in the middle of the city and releases a powerful wind blast, clearing the smoke out. They search the city to no avail.

“I can’t find anything.” Chain says.

“Me neither,” Ember disappointedly says .

Wayra sigh, “Klevo must be dead then and Loka has left…” Wayra looks around.

“It doesn’t seem right. Klevo uses metal needles to fight. There hot but they wouldn’t start a fire that could burn down a city. Loka himself uses ice to fight. If they were the one fighting, the city shouldn’t look like this. Something's not right. Circle the city, look for any survivors.” Wayra says.

“Fine, but if you find Loka or who ever killed Klevo, I call first to fight them. I didn't come all this way for nothing.” Ember says..

"Do what you want just as long as I can get a taste of their blood at the end." Chain says.

“I didn’t think dragons would be that organized. They do seem pretty blood thirsty though.”

“Hey what did I say about interrupting the story? Dragons aren't stupid. Just because the humans and elves didn’t consider them intelligent doesn't mean they were right. Dragons live much longer than they do. If you were listening, you would know that they get stronger the older they get. With how old some of the dragon where they were bound to be a couple competent ones. They all lived to fight, but some came to realize that not all fights are determined by raw strength.”

“Yeah, yeah, can you just continue with the story already? I want to see how Rev takes those dragons out.”

“Hahaha, where not that fair yet, patience child.”

The dragons search the area around the city.

“More dragons…” Rev says looking up and towards the city.

“There source is just as much as the one I fought. There’s no way I could take them all on.” Rev thinks to himself. He makes sure to conceal himself as he makes his way further away from the city. He moves quickly and without making a sound.
